Review: I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It didn't look interesting to me initially but with the movie coming out I wanted to read it. Boy am I glad I did, I enjoyed this book so much. I needed to keep reading it to find out what was going to happen to the characters. I cried a little bit not as much as other Nicholas Sparks books. I loved the characters so, so much though. Wonderful book, I'm so glad I read it!!

I'm thinking of going to it this weekend. I always get nervous seeing his movies though because I always enjoy the books much better and get super disappointed with the movies. I was probably the only person that didn't love The Notebook lol and The Best of Me, it was good but they changed sooooo much!

SS Team Challenge R5: Week 4

My Healer (Bewitched and Bewildered Book 3) by Alanea Alder

Previous Spot: 25
New Roll: 4+2
New Spot: 31
Book:3rd in series
Date Finished: 13/04/15
Rating:5♥

Review:Yet another fantastic addition to the Bewitched and Bewildered series. This time we get to met Colton and his mate Rheia Bradley. Rheia is a human who knows that paranormals exist when her five adopted paranormal brothers help her adopt and 4 year old shifter child after her parents were murdered, Rheia is sent to Lycaonia after being attacked in her home and is unknowingly thrown in the path of her mate.

The Relationship between Coltion, Rheia and Penny is so sweet and I just loved how Colton excepted Rheia's daughter right away. This was a very light and funny read with plenty of sexy time between the main characters, throw in a mixture of previous characters and you have a excellent story. I can't wait for book 4!

This book was fantastic. I loved every minute of it. I definitely do not think I was the intended audience as I know very little of 80s pop culture and am not a big video game person. But I still loved this book. It hooked me from the beginning and drew me in. And I liked all the characters. It was just great. Even though I only understood maybe 20% of the references.

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 245 comments Standalone for dice roll 31.

Finished April 15, 2015
Pretty Dead
I was a little wary of this novel from its opening two chapters -- and in such a short a novel as this, two chapters is quite a bit. However, the disjointedness I felt present in the beginning more than made sense and paid itself off in a surprising little twist as the story went on.

On the surface, this is just a story about a vampire who wants to become a human girl again. Granted, it's not really a plot that I've seen in the vampire genre before. She doesn't eat from humans, of course, which is more than common for the genre these days. But, as with all of Francesca's work, we also see what looks like suicide, can perhaps assume depression. Desperation and love kind of round out the themes for this novel. However, the book's not as layered as I would normally expected from this author.

Parents are particularly absent. I'm trying to think of the last time I read one of Francesca's books where that was the case. Charlotte's parents are mentioned in her past, but only passingly, and it's probably because they're dead by the time this story is occurring, and Charlotte is our main character, that therefore parents are unnecessary to the story.

Due to the aforementioned spoiler!twist, I really think I will enjoy this book much more on a second reading. I feel as though there will be all sorts of hints littered around the text for people who have read this before and are in the know.

4 Stars.

Review

I really love this series! I was really looking forward to reading this one after the events of book 2, and I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint at all. I really liked how there were flashbacks to Poppy and Winston's courtship interspersed with the events of the present. The book was really fast paced and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Looking forward to the next one!

If that is the case I will do The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1) by C.S. Lewis which is number 80 on the brown covers list on Listopia.

So I have changed my book I just wasn't in the mood for Gregor this week so I decided to with a tried and true favorite of mine and re-read Slade (New Species, #2) by Laurann Dohner .

SS Team Challenge R5:Week 5

Slade (New Species, #2) by Laurann Dohner (2nd in series)

Space:42
Alternate:Brown Cover
Finished:04/22/15

Review:This is probably the 3rd time I have read this book, well not only the book but the entire series. It's one of my absolute favorites and my go to series when I just need to have a little mindless fun when reading. Every time I read these books I always experience it differently and find something new to love about. Slade is probably one of my top 3 favorite characters for this series. He has such a cruel and tortured past that I fall in love with him more every time I read about him and for him to be so kind and gentle with Trisha after all he has suffered at the hands of humans makes him an instant favorite. This Book and series will forever be in my top 5 favorite series and I can't wait until the next time I can read them again
