I love this book. I was laughing my throughout it. This book needs to be read. The 17- year old narrator was everything and the side character were awesome especially the parents. As far as I can tell this is this author first published book and it was absolute awesomesauce and can't wait to see what to come next.
lol, for some reason when I saw Dirk Hunter I was thinking it was going to be one of those books. All sex, no story. :)
Shannon wrote: "lol, for some reason when I saw Dirk Hunter I was thinking it was going to be one of those books. All sex, no story. :)"There is on page sex scenes but not very long or even that many. Most of it was implied sex. Definitely not PWP.
my favorite line:"...contrary to popular belief, I did not burst out of my mother’s vagina on the back of a rainbow in a cloud of glitter. "
I'll leave you with one more.“You have some really strange sexual appetites,” Kai said wryly.
“An interesting point from a straight guy who likes to get fucked by another dude,” Mel said.
“Harsh. But fair.” "

Review: I knew it! I was spoiled from the beginning about the big plot twist in this book and saw from the beginning what it was. I did not want to believe it though. There were so many signs and quotes and warnings and they made me believe the other wasn't the good guy! Great job Victoria.
I really liked the setting and the whole silver/red blood thing. I want to see more people like Mare in the next book and them becoming like a little assassin group leading the revolution and taking back the throne. I want to see Cal and Mare forgiving each other for the... misleadings, and get together. I think that Kolier will be a contender and that really annoyes me.
It was sad when some people died and how they died. I hope we see more from her teacher. He was cool.
Overall, I really liked this book. I want to see where things will from here and what will happen with the whole country in the end. I think we'll find help in the other guys, the ones from the war. I can't wait to find out.

Signs by Anna Martin, 200 pages/GRCutest of the cutest. This story was all sweetness and love without any real angst. I loved it! They're both seniors in high school with Caleb being the artist type and deaf and Luc being the twinkish, gothish type with a crap mom and dad. They meet online then in RL and that's all she wrote. Perfect fit. A bit of family and medical drama but still kept a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Why did he do what he just did with his freaking best friend?!? That's the wrong guy!!! Isn't it? lol

This is the story about the life of a slave, Tete, who is born on the island of San Domingue (Haiti) and sold to a plantation owner at a very young age as a house slave. Tete's story is often heartbreaking but also heartwarming at the same time. Learning about the evolution of the slave trade and the eventual rebellion by slaves to take control of the island was fascinating, as was following the lives of Tete and all the people surrounding her. This is a serious but fabulous family saga for lovers of historical fiction, set in a world I personally have not read much about.

Hi Ladies,Just waiting on Bouchra before I can roll. I will probably be heading to bed in a couple of hours so may have to roll and update tomorrow.
I guess y'all go ahead and roll. Bouchra was having internet problems and I know she read a book that qualifies. With it being a holiday weekend go ahead so no one is worrying about it late tonight. On that note, Bouchra please try to get the reviews in by Thursday so the team can go ahead and plan their weekend reading :)

Review: I loved it. I read the first book so long ago and didn't remember anything but I caught up quickly. Maybe because I read the first one a while ago I really didn't like Valek. He had some cool parts but I don't trust him. There is something wrong with him. I do not know why but I really wanted Yelena to forget all about him and Ixia and focus on her training and her family.
Now speaking about her family, I loved the mother and father. There were accepting and genuine. I loved Leif, he was an ass most of the time but I was waiting for the moment when they would connect and start acting like brother and sister. I feared that this was not going to happen because untill the very last pages of the book they hadnt talked or discussed anything. But thankfully they got their moment.
I liked the plot a lot. There were some really funny scenes and very touching ones. I loved how Yelena and Kiki coonnected and shared a bond.
Overall, I really loved it and can't wait to read the next one.

(Coming About #2) by JK Hogan, 196 pagesOh how I wished I read this right after the first book so I'd still be in that world and would remember everything a little more. Rich was the d-bag from the first book but boy do we get to see why is this one. Poor guy had a super crappy childhood and as an adult he's nothing but a giant wall of bullet-proof armor. Then along comes Patrick, the giant, brash Irishman. And Patrick's family...holy hell, talk about a crazy bunch of rugby playing maniacs. They were fantastic! All the angst in this story was because of Rich's past and his finally dealing with it in order to be a "real" boy not with their relationship, which was refreshing. Great story!!
Hi Space Monkies,Jenne has let me know that Bouchra is dropping out of SS. So there is just the four of us for the time being.
Sorry, changed my book again from the one I originally nominated, but I had to read this for another group challenge and it fit the brief for SS this week, so might as well use it :)Week 3 Spot 22
Book #2 in the Cut & Run series
4/7/15
315 pages
★★★
I did enjoy this second instalment of the Cut & Run series, however I must admit I did prefer the first book. I didn't enjoy the chemistry between the two male leads as much this time, but it might be because they had moved past the conflict that was present in the first book and were now at the point of getting to know each other better and assessing their feelings for each other, which isn't necessarily as interesting. That said, I do love Ty and Zane and think they make a great couple and am looking forward to reading more of their story in Book 3.
Week 2 | Rolled 5 - Spot 22: Afflicted II (Book#2)I kind of wish I didn't read this book. It just made me dislike both of the MCs. They were both full of themselves. They were ready to drop everybody a.k.a family if it made the other slightly uncomfortable. Holding Travis to a promise the guy made when he was fourteen was ridiculous. I do feel that there needs to be a third book because there was some loose ends I really wish were tied. (3 stars)

Just a Bit Obsessed (Straight Guys #2) by Alessandra HazardI am loving this series!! The girly parts weren't super detailed so that wasn't even a factor. I do wish we could have seen these two together more without her involved. I will admit it was like she wasn't even in the room when they got together but I was hoping she really wasn't in the room. lol. I love the obsession that both books had though. It's like they can't get enough of each other and that is so freaking hot!!

by Kylie Scott4/13/15-5♥
Once again, Kylie Scott has knocked one out of the ballpark with her rockers we love to love. Let me first say that Mal is absolutely delicious and I just loved him! He was fun and free-spirited, but he had depth, too, and I really enjoyed getting to know him. The way he enters Anne's life and just steamrolls it is so fun and so totally Mal. He is a larger than life character and it takes a woman of Anne's strength to keep up with him. She is the perfect girl for him and it was a blast seeing how she rolled with the punches with him. Together, they are just magic.
