Serenading Heartbreak. The writing just felt kind of like wattpad and I wasn't really feeling a connection with the characters:/ Which was a bummer bc I was so excited to read that book for so long. I might give it another try though this summer.
A Tyranny of Petticoats. The different stories were cool but the stories were boring and I felt like a lot was missing from the stories. They felt disconnected.
before we were strangers— prob an unpopular opinion but I really didn’t like the characters or their banter from the beginning and I couldn’t bear to read the whole book
2 books immediately came to mind. 1. A thousand boy kisses by Tillie Cole. When I read about a quarter of it I was already crying and I just knew sht was about to go down and I didnt think I had the emotional capacity to cope with it lmao
2. Priest by Sierra Simone. I wouldnt say Im a religious person but I grew in a too religious household that I just physically couldnt finish it. My guardian angel was shaking hahah
lol Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer was definitely a DNF. I only read the Twilight series because I enjoyed the movies at the time and my mom had the books so I was like hey, let me read them. With Breaking Dawn I could not get myself to finish it. I just remember being so bored by it but realistically it was probably just above my reading level at the time, but I also think it jus wasn’t that good because I was able to read all of Harry Potter and enjoy it. Still Team Jacob though
The dating dare, the main characters’ dialogue was TOO healthy it made the whole thing so boring. No drama because they worked through their problems way too quickly and maturely 😂😂
these violent delights by chloe gong. i genuinely thought it was so slow and didn't make sense. i don;t know why i picked it up considering i hated romeo & juliet.the secret history by donna tartt. it was incredibly slow and it was good. i just wasn't enjoying it so why would i keep reading if i wasn't happy? i may pick it up later on.
ugly love 😩i just wasn’t as invested in the story line. i got about 40 pages in and gave up.
i do plan on trying it out again though 🫶🏽
there were about 20-25book over the span of a year which I wasn't able to finish..and seeing those titles in people's comment gives me immense relief
i dnf books literally all the time. i think the most recent was rise of the dawnbringer- the love interest knew her as a baby and i was grossed out. i also tried love theoretically and was just SO bored- romance def isnt my genre😭
The Stand-In by Lily Chu! I began reading it in December 2022. But I stopped. Maybe the beginning is just slow, but I haven’t picked it up since. Someone please shake me and tell me to finish it and that it’s actually a great book!
Layla by Colleen. I couldn’t just take how annoying & very unrealistic the plot/characters was like the MMC was literally holding her as a hostage after what seems a fluffy chapter + He did many things to her although she clearly refuses & he made it seem like there was a murder scene the whole 5 chapters + his ex + I don’t think I got what is happening in the book so I decided to dnf at the 1st 5 chapters in the book + this was my 1st & last time I dnf a book
The independence of Miss Mary Bennett. All of the characters from Pride and prejudice were made so horrible so I just couldn't get through it.
the guest list, mostly because i didnt care for the characters at all. the beginning was really slow too.
shatter me - i just couldn't with the lines and weird sht w/ the writing style book lovers - just wasn't interested
king of pride - the was plot was flat, it was boring, nothing ever happened.
only books I ever dnf'ed
so i started 'The Way I Used To Be' and it got really weird really fast. The main character lied about her age, and it was just weird
iron widow, I just didn't feel any connection to the characters and the not like other girls attitude really put me off
CredenceI had a hard time getting into the book to begin with. But, I saw a lot of people raving about it and how it was their "favorite book of all time." So I tried to push through it. I couldn't get behind the plot and it confused me at times. Stopped about 80% through.
It happened one summer. got cringy when it reached the smut part.
the adorable characters became weird
The Atlas Paradox.I forced myself through the first book in the series and just couldn’t take it anymore once I was halfway through the second. The characters all blended together as they had no depth and were all really annoying. You would route for a couple as they seem to be all over each other only for them to completely change their mind the next chapter. There was also a load of talk about physics?Magic?Philosophy?I don’t know because it was so boring and made no sense! So glad I put that book down
the shatter me series, got through the first 2 and by the middle of the 3rd i just couldn’t do it. i prefer the more realistic romance books, the genre just isn’t for me
I have dnf (did not finish) The Summer I turned pretty by Jenny Han because I am in a little book slump and I am just trying to wait until season 2 of the show comes out this Friday on the 14th. But I have already started the book I think last week or somewhere around this week.
normal people by sally rooney. i just got bored and her not using quotation marks to mark the parts they were speaking got tricky
the cheat sheetwasn't interesting enough and the fmc's attire made me think of jojo siwa and was a hard pass
the cruel prince from holly black. i can't really pin point it but something gave me an incredibly unsettling feeling while reading. I think it was because the MC was relatively "alone" in the world aka didn't have ppl who they could rely a 100% on... but not sure
I’m so sorry but Six of Crows was SO boring to me. I loved the Shadow and Bone series so I thought I’d like Six of Crows but I litterly fell asleep reading it multiple times. 😔
i've recently started reading, remarkably bright creatures. now i'm trying to convince myself to finish.
The Weight of Ink It started out fine, but started to drag after awhile so I went onto something different.
it is about to be Cassandra in Reverse. Cassandra figures out she can time travel but only seems to be able to go back in time 4. months to when she met her bf. No one knows why she can time travel, there are no consequences of her time time travel. why does she feel the need to keep going back to get things right with her bf. Clearly they aren't a good fit. it she keeps trying to "fix" herself. I also feel like she is lying to him. anytime she isn't at her best she goes back in time and tries again and viola everything is perfect. It's so redundant she keeps trying to fix the same scenes over and over and over.

The only book since starting my heavy reading journey like around a year ago was They Both Die at the End. I had given myself the rule to not DNF unless I had at least read 100 pages so although it took me so long to get to that point when I actually did I was so happy I could finally stop reading it. The book just didn't attract me and felt flat and boring the whole time. Thanks to this rule I did not DNF Red, White & Royal Blue because I absolutely loved it. The first chapter is long and I agree, a little boring BUT the rest of the book I loved.
Daisy Jones and the six😭😭i couldn’t keep up with the writing style and thought i should wait until i can get my hands on the audio book
