This Perfect Day This is the book that got me into dystopia. Have you read the classics? Nineteen Eighty-Four and Brave New World
I remember reading a heap of dystopia when I was younger but I can't think of any others off the top of my head. I'm sure there are lists.
I liked Ready Player One as well. The sequel wasn't as good.
Check out the Expanse series by James SA Corey!James S.A. Corey Expanse Series 8 Books Collection Set
It's not strictly dystopian, but they're very focused on politics and the technical limitations and human and societal consequences of space exploration. There is an alien element (I don't want to give away too much) but in a very limited role.

This Perfect Day sounds excellent, will definitely be checking that one out! I've read 1984 and loved it! (And oh yes, I've heard the Ready Player One sequel is AWFUL)

These plots sound right up my alley, thank you!
The Book of M its post apocalyptic, which is usually NOT my genre, but this book is really unique and very well written and i really enjoyed it!
There's a series of stories starting with Bicycle Repairman by Bruce Sterling No alien, near future Tennessee. WELL worth tracking down.
Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury - all time favourite, dystopia looking alarmingly like modern times The Bachman Books Stephen King has the Long Walk and the Running Man, both fairly realist dystopias.
Void Star by Zachary Mason is quite tech-y but also dreamy and mythic
The City and the City China Mieville a Kafkaesque noir kind of dystopia
For post apocalyptic:
Things we didn't see coming Steven Amsterdam
Station Eleven Emily St John Mandel
On the Edge of Gone by Corinne DuyvisA comet is about to hit the earth, and selected people will board a ship scheduled to leave Earth and colonize new worlds. The main character is autistic, and fears she won't be allowed to board the ship because each passenger must have a practical skill to contribute.
