My review of Murder with Oolong Tea by Karen Rose Smith
4 and a half stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Garlic and the Witch by Bree Paulsen
A worthy sequel to the first book. Much recommend this MG graphic novel series.

I read Actress by Anne Enright.A subtle and moving portrait of two generations of women. The novel unfolds in the first-person voice of the daughter as she tells the story of her famous movie star mother. It is told in the engaging and seemingly effortless prose of Anne Enright.

My review of High Tides and Summer Skies by Jennifer Bohnet4 stars

Shadows of Conflict
Let the Purring Begin: Sapphire's Tale by Sallie Cochren
A sweet little indie book that will work for all cat lovers, aged middle-grade upwards.

Ocultos by Laura Pérez
A graphic short story collection that was too weird and surreal for my liking.

⭐⭐⭐.5 for
The Empress of Cooke County by Elizabeth Bass Parman https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I read Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton. It's a political thriller about an activist environmental group and a billionaire manufacturer of drones and surveillance equipment. It starts slowly and gradually builds up speed with the last section moving at a break-neck pace. The characters were somewhat stereotypical and excessive exposition weighed it down. But I quite enjoyed it.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Two Doors Down by Mary Hargreaves
A good book, but not at all a romcom as advertised. Thankfully, I like drama better than romcoms, so it worked well for me.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Widow Fantasies by Hollay Ghadery
A slice-of-life short story collection with a strong feminist theme. Might have worked better for me had I liked slice-of-life, but for those who like this style, it is a great option.

Celestial Monsters by Aiden Thomas
The second book of the Sunbearer duology and a worthy continuation. Worked pretty much as a YA Fantasy should.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A great start to a new Scottish cosy-mystery series
Murder in the Scottish Highlands by Dee MacDonald ⭐⭐⭐⭐.2 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees by Patrick Horvath
This is one creepy graphic novel. Don't be fooled by the pastel colours on the cover. This is strictly for adults.

My review is up of Unveiling the PastBy Kim Vogel Sawyer
3 and a half stars.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Rescue Sisters by Elaine Whiteford
A historical fiction with an uncommon topic. I expected a grittier read, but it was decent nonetheless.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A good, old-fashioned English 'whodunit'.
Death at the Dolphin by Gretta Mulrooney⭐⭐⭐⭐.1 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I read Silken Gazelles by Jokha Alharthi; translated from the Arabic by Marilyn Booth. Very disappointing. I enjoyed AlHarthi's Celestial Bodies, but I guess this one just wasn't for me.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....
Friends and the Golden Age of the Sitcom by Joanna Hagan
As a FRIENDS fan, I expected far more from this.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of A Girl’s Guide to the Outback by Jessica Kate
4 stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Phoenix Keeper by S.A. MacLean
Though an adult fantasy, it was written in a YA style, with a whiny, self-centred protagonist. No surprise that it didn't work for me.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A beautiful read about the relationships between mothers and daughters
The Essential Elizabeth Stone by Jennifer Banash ⭐⭐⭐⭐.4 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Nocturne with Gaslamps by Matthew Francis
Had great promise, but ended up mostly a dud.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Another 5⭐ read - short story this time by Lisa Unger
The Doll's House: A Short Story https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of A Match to Fool Society by Laura Martin
3 and a half stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mashi and Other Stories by Rabindranath Tagore
A classic work by an acclaimed Indian author, but it needed better translation.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A book of two halves - but it's well worth it in the end.
The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz ⭐⭐⭐.7 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Christmas Ever After by Jaimie Admans
I'm not fond of reading Christmas books too early, but this was a September release, and a Jaimie Admans book at that! As lovely as all her other works.

With such a stunning cover and title, I expected far more from this Aussie murder mystery based on true facts. it wasn't bad, but it certainly could have done better.
