Would you believe I have nine books physical books to read for January? Several ebooks & audiobooks. And a half dozen more ordered that haven't arrived at the library. I over plan every month and wind up sending some back without them being read.

I just read Alex Kenna's "What Meets The Eye"and
Meredith Hambrock's "Other People's Secrets."
Those two are great!
This week I'm going to try to get through:
Behind Her Eyes
Circe
To the Lighthouse
and 1/2 of The Princess Bride
Last night I read The Invention of Hugo Cabret which was amazing. The book has as many beautiful drawings as pages of text. I highly recommend it if you want something light but a bit mysterious.

I'm working on Bone White by Ronald Malfi right now and I'm loving it! Next up is a group read for a nonfiction group I'm in - it will be Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein and it looks like a really good book! I feel like I'm a generalist at heart. I want to know how to do everything from start to finish. I'd get bored if I specialized in any one area at my job.

How are you enjoying The Princess Bride? That book has been out on my desk to read for a couple of months now, but I've been picking other books instead of it because I heard a few people grumble that it wasn't as good as the movie. 😕 I don't want to be disappointed!
Why Kings Confess by C.S. Harris 5-StarsThe French Revolution casts a long, deadly shadow.
My Review
10 Bodies Lying by Stephanie Bond 4-StarsCarlotta comes to the conclusion that everybody lies, even her.
My Review
The Wrong Victim by Allison Brennan 5-StarsA charter boat explodes. Now Quinn and Costa have to catch a murderer.

That's the most current one but I read all the stories with this group.

Lisa is the moderator for this group and each story was listed separately so it was easy to follow. This is in the archieved section closer to the bottom of the group page if you want to follow all the discussions. I enjoyed it.

My second book for the year was
Gone for Gouda by Korina Moss https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I have been looking forward to reading this. The Evening and the Morning
by Ken Follett part of the Kingsbury series, prequel of
a favorite of mine.
Finishing up Hastened to the Grave: The Gypsy Murder Case by Jack Olsen. It’s been sitting on my TBR shelf forever and I finally picked it up, and then couldn’t put it down. Really fun and utterly terrifying at the same time.
I finished Behind Her Eyes. I like the writing and it was suspenseful but I didn't like the ending, it simply was not realistic which I don't like in a mystery.
I'm a bit behind and still and trying to get through Circe and To the Lighthouse, both audio books. I just can't listen to an audio book when I have to concentrate on something else.
I put off The Princess Bride, I'm going to read that during my vacation as we have a lot of travel time ahead of us.
This past week I started The Italian and am loving it. This week I'm starting The Old Wives' Tale, The Mitford Murders. I'm also going to start Last Chance Lassiter and Twelve Angry Men both of which are short.

I've just finished Snowblind and I love it. At fist I was afraid, didn't where the author wanted to get us but this book just blow my mind with its final.I'm currently reading Mimic And so far, I like it a lot.
I got a mystery box as a Christmas present and the first book was Melmoth so I'm slowing going through it. It's a bit slow to get into so I haven't really made much progress but hoping it gets better!
I just finished up reading The Deep by Nick Cutter last night. It was fantastic!! I stayed up significantly later than necessary because I could not put it down. I will be picking up Behind Her Eyes from my local bookshop today. I am excited to begin the group read! :)
I'm starting out the week with
Aerobics Can Be Deadly by Ryan Rivers https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
If you think the British royal family is in disarray now, just be thankful they aren't burning 'heretics' at the stake. 🔥 You didn't dare be out of favour with King Henry VIII. I love the Matthew Shardlake historical mystery series by C.J. Sansom. Lamentation is #6.
4.5~5★ My review
Continuing on with my humorous mysteries this week, I laughed my way through
Death by Smoothie by Laura Levine https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...My iPad
Currently reading:
Billy Summer by Stephen King
And
Crave by Tracy Wolff
2 totally different books.
I really enjoyed
Oh Danny Girl by C. Michele Dorsey, a page turning thriller. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just started The Women of Château Lafayette by Stephanie Dray. I finished a reread of I is for Innocent by Sue Grafton. Plus I have two other books to read, if I get to them.

Oh, how I love finding a new favourite book!
Norwegian by Night
by Derek B. Miller is a compassionate thriller, if there even is such a thing. Great read!
