As for Bone White, it took me about a year to write, from first draft to final, which is an unusually long time for me. I tend to edit as I write, so there are never any true first drafts that exist that look much different than the final version. The biggest difference with Bone White was the ending of the book--I rewrote the ending several times before I felt I had gotten it right. It was a balancing act, making sure I wasn't going too far in one direction or not enough in the other.(less)

Bone White coming to TV!

I'm thrilled to announce that my novel Bone White has been picked up for development for a TV series by Amazon Studios and Fox 21. Still too early for many details, but I've linked the Deadline press release below.

Thanks to everyone who's read it, reviewed it, and sent me such kind emails about the book! Happy reading...

“I’m so sick of political correctness. I’m suffocated by it. We’re so goddamn politically correct that we lose our individualism, our definition as human beings. Don’t you agree?”

“It has been said that nature does not know extinction. In effect, it knows only change: nothing ever truly disappears, for there is always something—some part, some particle, some formidable semblance—left behind. You can boil water into vapor, but it hasn’t disappeared. Curiosity killed the cat, but condensation brought it back.”
