I've been working my way through all of Tony and Anne Hillerman's Leaphorn and Chee series. I'm just finishing up Anne Hillerman's Stargazer now. The books are pretty good, but reading them all in a short time makes their structure a bit predictable. Bernie or Chee always wanders off with the murderer, alone, to ask them a few questions or something, so that in each book they get to have a near-death action scene with the real murderer.

I just finished A World of Curiosities (Chief Inspector Gamache #18) / Louise Penny. I've been reading her books for years and have never been disappointed ...
I finished How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix. It is a thriller/horror. I generally don't read that type of book but I couldn't put it down. Totally warped story, but pulls you in makes you keep reading.
Yesterday, I finished Shiver / Allie Reynolds. It held my interest even though I've never followed snowboarding ... Today, I finished The Crow Trap (Vera Stanhope #1) / Ann Cleeves. I guessed the murderer about halfway through, but couldn't know why until the end.
Don't Open the Door by Allison Brennan 3-StarsThis one is not up to the author's usual high standards.
My Review
Cold Deceit by Toni Anderson 5-StarsToni Anderson is an auto read for me.
My Review

Agatha Christie was a prolific crime fiction author. But like everyone else, she didn't want to be pigeonholed. So under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott, Christie published 6 novels. I've finished my second Westmacott novel --
Absent in the Spring.Christie had been very pleased with it. And I liked it as well, rating it a 4 ☆ novel.

If you think you might enjoy historical murder mysteries, I recommend C.S. Harris's Viscount Sebastian St. Cyr series, set in London, early 1800s. Terrific characters and atmosphere. When Maidens Mourn, #7, is another winner.

I didn't know this. Thanks for this information. My favorite writer also had two pen names which I did not know before getting on goodreads. Norah Lofts is her name and one of her pen names is: Peter Curtis.
I am about to finish Fairy Tale and it starts out great but by page 500 it is dragging. I can't wait for it to be over!
