I don't think I mentioned here that I'd finished Hillary Waugh's Last Seen Wearing. My review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I thought I'd step away from mysteries for a while and started White Horse by Erika T. Wurth and, whattaya know, it's kind of a mystery, with a ghost.

Recently finished The Double Bind, the second book by Loraine Peck and a strong Australian mobster crime story that challenges its characters to decide between family and the job.

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I have read The Age of Reason Begins: The Story of Civilization, Volume VII. I recommend it. Gave it 3 stars, but it contained a lot to prefer over other content. The entire series is unique; it is as if parts of Wikipedia were written by a scholar, which Will Durant certainly was.

Araych | 676 comments A Dead Man in Malta A Dead Man in Malta (Seymour of Special Branch, #7) by Michael Pearce by Michael Pearce

Seymour of the Yard #7. Malta 1913. A German and 2 English sailors are dead and Sandor Seymour is sent by the Foreign Office to Malta to investigate. Charming and fascinating like the rest in the series but watch out for the names. I thought this was one of the better entries in the series -- 4 stars.

This book is all about the making of the movie 'The Way We War', a 1973 romantic drama starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford.

Good book for film buffs in general, and people interested in HUAC and the blacklist.

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Darkly funny but runs out of steam halfway into the book. It makes perversion beautiful and vulgarity tender. Rating - 3/5
