Those covers all look good to me.

Laura | 2892 comments Team, when you post multiple color options, please indicate which ones you prefer to read. Eldarwen will juggle all our suggestions to hopefully give us each the color cards that we prefer to read for.

And just because multiple people have put forth options, don't let that stop you. We have the Wild Draw 4s to duplicate color cards, also.

message 53: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Audrey, Kayt, I'm seconding Laura in that your cover colours all work.

7 Green is definitely yours then Kayt! We wouldn't want to force Laura to read another V erotica :-p

I see teal, not blue.

Anyone else want to venture a guess on the colour? ;-)

If you want to keep your TBR somewhat manageable, you might regret throwing this out there hehehe ;-)

But I agree, it is definitely one of the fun parts of being in a team challenge that you can also talk about the books you've read :-)

In Dutch we jokingly call that appelblauwzeegroen :D (litterally 'apple-green sea-blue'). It's turquoise I think however according to my family I'm colour blind (we recently had an argument about this around New year during Trivial Pursuit).
We had the same issue with Mrs England by Stacey Halls during uno last year.

Captains, I have a preference to start with Ruby Fever if that's possible :)

@Laura: Yes! Looking forward to dive back into the Hidden Legacy world and Catalina's story.

message 58: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments I'm going to be reading both of my coloured covers either way, but I don't mind if any of them get used for something else ;)

message 59: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Hahaha, that's another one where I'd say teal/turquoise!

Sure thing, Audrey! Ruby Fever is good fun! :-)
Sammy, you're slotted in for both of them since you'll be reading them anyway :-)

message 60: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments LaurLa wrote: "No preferences! Tell me what to read!"

Will do! ;-)

Leaning towards the 4 Green for you at the moment since green is always harder to come by, but let's see what the rest of the team might have on their shelves - since you have a few options :-)

I signed up late because work is dumb but some of my favorite people are here so I thought I'd say hi.

message 65: by Emelie (new)

Emelie | 53 comments Hi all!

I'm Emelie, checking in from Sweden.

I love team challenges, looking forward to this one! I tend to give every genre and book a chance as long as it sounds interesting, though I tend to create more non-fiction, fantasy, scifi, drama, thriller, less humour and romance.

My reading is still (it's been years) in a slump and I miss reading as much as I used to, so looking forward to this giving me an extra push!

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments While I'm quietly planning here in the corner...

Does this one work for blue, do you think? Extraordinary People (The Enzo Files, #1) by Peter May or The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North

If yes, I'll save it for a later month, if no, I'll probably read in Feb :)

Also, I signed up with a few less than I'm likely to read. I'll happily read other stuff on the side, or if anyone is struggling because life is getting in the way, I can pitch in a few extra ;)

I would say yes to Harry August, and I'm iffy about Extraordinary People.

I signed up with less books than I traditionally read. I'm moving from California to North Carolina mid-February, and I'll be getting a new job at that point. So I might read even less and need your help!

NOT that I am trying to push my agenda (I truly don't care, I'll be reading it eventually and it'll work where it works) but... the dreaded tiny-eye says blue! 🤣 It all looks teal/turquoise to me but I put it up as an option because sometimes the teal/turquoise family can count as blue. Tine-eye must think so!!

message 70: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Guys, stop using Tineye :-p

message 71: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments And seriously, those colours are not blue! o.o

Tineye must be colourblind?! heheheh

But yeah, some of those teal/turquoise colours are counted towards one or the other, which is why we always get the age-old question: green or blue?!

Seconding this.

Sammy, I've slotted you in for a Wild Draw 4 to read Harry August. (9 Blue)

While we're at it, Laura, since we have like a gazillion red covers, I slotted you in for a Wild Draw 4 to read the Badger one (3 Red). :-)

And LaurLa, are you good to read American Vampire for the 4 Green?

Anyone who doesn't have a slot yet, please shout out if you have anything for the remaining cards! Otherwise, we'll distribute a few more amongst those who have already mentioned a few options. :-)

message 75: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments Looks good to me. I’ll search for some more red covers tomorrow.

message 76: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments tineye is definitely colour blind! Sometimes the results come back not even remotely close to what they're meant to be.
Personally I tend to use my own judgement, and will only use tineye to check if the main colour is over 50% if I think it's iffy. If tineye then tells me it's yellow when it's very obviously purple, I stick my tongue out at it and move on. :D

The person who came up with turquoise obviously didn't anticipated these kind of team challenges. Shame on them.

message 80: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 1005 comments Eldarwen wrote: "And LaurLa, are you good to read American Vampire for the 4 Green?"

Works for me!

Also, I forgot I also have Ruby Fever (Hidden Legacy, #6) by Ilona Andrews to read! So it can also cover a Wild Draw 4 or a Reverse.

message 81: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 1019 comments I don't think I will be a huge help with reverses this game... I went through all my audio tbr (which is where most of my books will be coming from) and none of them had been read by a single team member that I could see.
Maybe when the last teamies have rolled in I'll have more luck, but other than that, I might only be able to contribute the occasional print book for reverse. ;)

*gasp* how can you forget that one?? ;-)
I'll add you for a Wild Draw 4 card as well then.

I'll keep my red for another month, since it has that H author I do not want to "waste" if I don't have to on a simpler letter.

message 83: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Sammy wrote: "I don't think I will be a huge help with reverses this game... "

Two of them have already been covered with Draw 2 cards so we only have to read 6 more of them and that should be doable :-)

My name is Emily, I'm checking in from South Africa!

This is my 3rd time participating in the UNO challenge, and I'm a big fan! I like reading a mix of fiction and non-fiction. I'm looking forward to tackling some of my TBR.

Happy reading fellow Platypodes!

I can happily read Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward for the Red 1 it is the first in the series, and a reread for me (it has been like 5 or six years I think).

message 89: by Jodi (new)

Jodi | 130 comments Just checking in, not sure if I did or not. I'll get back tomorrow with some choices that I could cover. Love UNO and also The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is soooo good!!! I listened to the audio version but it's one of my favorites.

Wrath is not my favourite by far, but I did stick with the series. I think book 8 is my next one?
We'll keep it in mind if the others can't cover that card :-)

message 92: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments I want to read Drama King (Three Kings, #2) by Penny Reid . Red cover, and when they first meet the MC is going by the name Ryaine O'Rourke, so should work for a 1.

Also, red? Spy Glass (Glass, #3) by Maria V. Snyder . Works for a Red 1

message 93: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Wait, wait, those have new covers again? The glass series was not the best.. but the world at least is still a good one :-)

Both would work though are you sure you don't want to save Spy Glass in case we get a 7 Red? Since it has that lovely V character... :-)

message 94: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments Sure, I can save it. I think they even have a new cover since I acquired this one.

Also, I'm still missing a few shelves, so could you please post links? Thank you!

Have you all planned yet which book you might start off with?

If no one else takes a spot, I can do the Red 1 with Cowboys for Christmas (Cowboys Online #1) by Jan Springer .

I'll probably start the month with my color cards, so I don't end up rushed at the end of the month because of my move. Other than that, my reading is usually dictated by Turf Wars tasks during the Turf Wars games. Until we get the mini, and then I get to balance the two.

message 100: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Good to know for the 1 Red, Laura! :-)

My colour card is going to be my second book. I'm going to start the month off with Such a Fun Age, which I'm going to read for my February book club meet - our very first book, after we met this month to get to know each other. I'm curious how that will turn out! Should be fun with our group :-)
