Cathy Bramley is the author of the best-selling romantic comedies Ivy Lane, Appleby Farm, Wickham Hall, Conditional Love and The Plumberry School of Comfort Food. She lives in a Nottinghamshire village with her family and a dog.

Her recent career as a full-time writer of light-hearted, romantic fiction has come as somewhat of a lovely surprise after spending eighteen years running her own marketing agency. However, she has been always an avid reader, never without a book on the go and now thinks she may have found her dream job!

Cathy loves to hear from her readers. You can get in touch via her website www.CathyBramley.co.uk Facebook page Facebook.com/CathyBramleyAuthor or on Twitter twitter.com/CathyBramley

Hi Cintia,
I felt the same way as you a few years ago. I decided that I wouldn't let rejection stand in my way because I would write the very best book I could, paying for editing and cover design and then self-publish it. I then built a readership which attracted the interest of a publisher. I suggest you take a break from social media (or wherever you are getting your information about the publishing industry) and focus on you and your writing. Lots of people want to be writers, but relatively few actually finish a novel. Forget the competition for now, just concentrate on writing from the heart. Good luck!(less)

More of Cathy's books…
“I wanted my home to be a haven, like coming in from the cold to a big warm hug.”
Cathy Bramley, Conditional Love
tags: home, hug, love

“Part of me wants a man to sweep me off my feet and take care of me, the other part wants to punch any man in the goolies who'd even dare to suggest such a thing.”
Cathy Bramley, Hetty’s Farmhouse Bakery

“In the months since I’d split up from Eric, I’d never really missed being half of a couple. But now I yearned for a broad chest to lay my head on, to rub my cheek against the rough wool of a man’s jumper, for some loving arms to wrap me up and tell me that everything was going to be all right. I knew I could call Rosie and she’d be here like a shot. Or I could go up to The Evergreens and pour out my sorrows. But it wasn’t just any company I needed; I wanted to be loved again.”
Cathy Bramley, Coming Home
