The Rachel Incident by Caroline O'Donoghue
I didn't find it funny as the blurb claimed it to be, but it was a good coming-of-age literary fiction.

My review of The Twenty by UK author Sam Holland. While it's the second in her Major Crimes series, it effectively reads as a standalone, with only minor appearances of characters from its series predecessor, The Echo Man. It's a sometimes gory, but compulsively readable thriller!

My review of The Villa by Rachel Hawkins, a fascinating read drawing on influences such as Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's writing of Frankenstein in 1816, and the making of Fleetwood Mac's seminal 1977 album Rumours. A dual timeline (1974 and the present) mystery-thriller set in a stunning Umbrian villa.

My review of The Woman in Blue, #8 in Elly Griffiths's brilliant Dr. Ruth Galloway series. Not my favourite book in the series so far, due to the noticeable paucity of archaeological themes, but important for series progression, and still a great read!

Emily Spurr’s second novel, Beatrix & Fred is very different from her first, but equally smart, funny and thought-provoking: more please! 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of The Italian Cure by Melodie Campbell - a charming light and quick read about a young woman moving on from heartbreak during a week-long tour of Italy with her non-conformist aunt.

My review of Things I Wish I Told My Mother by Susan Patterson with Susan DiLallo and James Patterson
1 and a half stars

Here's my review of Zero Days by Ruth Ware, a superlative standalone thriller from an author I've had a variable reaction to over the years. This one was (for me) an absolute winner!

Here's my review of Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Canadian author Emily R. Austin. It's a great and uplifting read, in the vein of recent bestsellers like Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and The Morbids.

Lisa Regan has once again brought us a suspenseful mystery with an unexpected twist on the 'missing child' trope in book #18 of her Josie Quinn series.

One Christmas Morning by Rachel Greenlaw
An interesting debut work, but don't expect lighthearted Christmassy feels. It is quite intense. Think Groundhog Day + A Christmas Carol.

Prodigal Son by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz 4★https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
As always, Saul Reichlin's audio rendition of the fourth book in Alexander McCall Smith's Detective Varg series, The Discreet Charm of the Big Bad Wolf, is excellent. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Parenting Revolution by Justin CoulsonMy review 4 stars:

I found Heather Morris's fourth novel, Sisters Under the Rising Sun a bit too matter-of-fact for me to connect well with the protagonists. 3★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
One Day We're All Going to Die by Elise Esther HearstMy review 4 stars:

Miss Aldridge Regrets is a murder mystery by English author Louise Hare set in the 1930s jazz clubs and onboard a glamorous cruise liner. Here is my review
My only regret with All the Devils Are Here is that Louise Penny set the story in Paris instead of Canada. All the family are together, though, and all are in life-threatening danger.
My review of All the Devils Are Here
When I link the title and cover, my post won't stick. But the review link seems to work."Calypso's Guest: A Short Story" is a unique, marooned-in-space retelling of Calypso's story from Homer's classic, The Odyssey. Pulitzer Prize winner, Andrew Sean Greer, combines tenderness with the Twilight Zone.
Here is my review of Calypso's Guest
