Geri | 89 comments I added the other books by French and Prose to my TBR. 🙂

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Geri, oh yes both of those look good! I have Happiness Fallson my Libby hold list and Bright Young Women on my watch list to put on hold when released! I think both would be good group read books.

message 53: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9486 comments I was immediately hooked by Bright Young Women. What does it say about me that I can't get enough of books about serial killers?

Happiness Falls also looks good, but I can only read so many missing-person-family-traumatized stories so will see about that one.

Off to reserve Bright Young Women!

message 54: by Ann (last edited Sep 18, 2023 09:55PM) (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Geri and Carol: all three sound very good to me. Perhaps the order to assign could be by release date (to give time to get through potential initial release delays from the library, and any could be started earlier)
TENTATIVE dates:

Dec-2023
🔶 Proposed: Happiness Falls by Angie Kim

Jan-2024
🔶 Proposed: Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll

Feb-2024
🔶 Proposed: The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose

Mar-2024
🔶 The Hunter by Tana French sequel to The Searcher group read in Oct-2020

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Carol: I hear you! The last Angie Kim we read was so good though! Miracle Creek Group Read May-2020.

Louise (uploadphoto) | 9 comments Has anyone read Knolls previous 2 books? There’s a really interesting interview with her talking about the publishing landscape for her genre

message 57: by Geri (new)

Geri | 89 comments Ann - The dates look good. There shouldn’t be a problem for me to get them from the library. I will wait to get them. Because I read our book for November months ago. I have to reread it now to remember what happened! LOL

message 58: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Louise, I haven't read a Jessica Knoll book before; where was the interview you saw? (sounds interesting)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Geri: I added them to the bookshelf while it is fresh in my mind. We can still adjust the dates later if needed!

Louise (uploadphoto) | 9 comments I don’t know where the Jessica Knoll interview is bc I just googled Jessica Knoll interview and at least 10 of them popped up, so, take your pick! Enjoy!

message 61: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Thanks Louise, I will search and see what I find.

message 62: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9486 comments Hmm. Don't even remember that one and I certainly didn't read it. I wonder why? Probably overbooked at the time.....

Sybotes | 113 comments Hi again. I am ready for the group discussion of The Running Grave. @Ann? You there again?

I have one question about the site in general. All postings I read and even the ones I wrote myself are signed as "new". Does anybody know what that is all about?

message 64: by Ann (last edited Sep 27, 2023 11:39PM) (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Hello Sybotes! I am just about ready to start reading The Running Grave as well, very excited. I got my audio copy yesterday (34 plus hours! ) and hope to start this weekend.
*I also found posts here tonight (over 500) showing unread and have no idea what happened as I know I have read them. It's very odd. They also at first glance seem to not change status - odder still.
I will get the Group Read threads started for us to begin!

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Here are three more options for most likely 2024.
Carol heard about these at a recent thriller event - see post #7 here for more details: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I will start a 2024 nominations thread soon too.
What Remains by Wendy Walker
Blood Sisters by Vanessa Lillie
Thicker Than Water by Megan Collins
they look very interesting.

Nov-2023
🔶 A Twisted Love Story by Samantha Downing

Dec-2023
🔶 Happiness Falls by Angie Kim

Jan-2024
🔶 Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll

Feb-2024
🔶 The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose

Mar-2024
🔶 The Hunter by Tana French sequel to The Searcher group read in Oct-2020

message 66: by Geri (new)

Geri | 89 comments Sounds good, Ann! What Remains and Thicker Than Water are on my radar. But I have not read them. Blood Sisters is definitely the one I am most interested in. I have it in my wishlist at audible!

message 67: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9486 comments Wow, we've got our reading ahead of us! Thanks for keeping us going, Ann! Any of the thriller picks would work for me, let's see what others think.
