Sonja (sonjac) | 1364 comments Hi Carina,
Here are your picks for October! Hope you find something to keep you cozy! :)
🌷 Spring
TBR: The Tourist Attraction (blue cover) The irony here is that this is a winter setting! Anyway, cute series, I enjoyed all three!
TBR/NEW: Rainshadow Road (blue/greencover) One of my favorite series by this author, set in a place I’ve been many times!
The Tourist Attraction (Moose Springs, Alaska #1) by Sarah Morgenthaler Rainshadow Road (Friday Harbor, #2) by Lisa Kleypas

🍂 Fall TBR: When the Ground Turns in Its Sleep (gold/orange/brown cover)
TBR/NEW: Silent in the Grave (gold/orange/red cover) I may have fudged this a bit by sneaking a peak at our compared books list, but I definitely want to get this series on your radar as I thoroughly enjoyed it!
When the Ground Turns in Its Sleep by Sylvia Sellers-García Silent in the Grave (Lady Julia Grey, #1) by Deanna Raybourn

🌷 Spring
TBR: His Secret Alaskan Heiress (215 pages, close enough!)
NEW: Lady Fortescue Steps Out (under 200) Short and fun! LOVE Lady Fortescue!
His Secret Alaskan Heiress (Alaskan Grooms #5) by Belle Calhoune Lady Fortescue Steps Out (Poor Relation, #1) by Marion Chesney

🍂 Fall
TBR: Season of Secrets and A Christmas to Die For (over 500 pages)
NEW: Kiwi Strong (over 400 pages) Had this one recommended here and really enjoyed it! You definitely don’t have to read the series in order, which is nice!
Season of Secrets and A Christmas to Die For by Marta Perry Kiwi Strong (New Zealand Ever After, #3) by Rosalind James

🌷 Spring
TBR: Love in Catalina Cove (first in series)
NEW: The Cafe by the Sea (first in series, child in story) Love this series!
Love in Catalina Cove (Catalina Cove #1) by Brenda Jackson The Cafe by the Sea (Mure, #1) by Jenny Colgan

🍂 Fall
TBR: Mission to Protect (animal on cover)
TBR/NEW: Just One of the Guys (Stand alone, animal on cover) Definitely wanted to bump this one up on your TBR radar! Really loved this book!
Mission to Protect (Military K-9 Unit #1) by Terri Reed Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins

🌷 Spring
TBR: The Sweetest Thing (light and easy)
NEW: Well Met (humorous story) There’s a little angst, but mostly this was an entertaining read and a fun series!
The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor, #2) by Jill Shalvis Well Met (Well Met, #1) by Jen DeLuca

🍂 Fall
TBR: Shadow Rider (Darker/suspense)
NEW: The Glittering Court (dark/suspense/dark cover!) I’m not sure how much you enjoy fantasy, and I’m usually not one for it, but this was a great series (IMHO) so I’m recommending it!
Shadow Rider (Shadow Riders, #1) by Christine Feehan The Glittering Court (The Glittering Court, #1) by Richelle Mead

Happy reading!

Vanessa Gayle ⚔️ Fangirl Faction (fangirlfaction) | 222 comments Howdy, Sonja! Sorry for taking so long! Here are your picks. I hope that you find something you love. =D

Spring colors are bright and happy - the colors of flowers and new growth
🌷 Recommend a book with green, pink, yellow, and/or blue on the cover.
TBR: Beauty and the Baller
NEW: Awk-Weird

Fall colors are the darker earth tones of turning leaves and fall fruits and vegetables
🍂 *Recommend a book with red, orange, gold and/or brown on the cover.
TBR: Kitty Goes to Washington
NEW: These Hollow Vows

Spring brings longer, milder days, which often means more outside time and less time to read.
🌷 Recommend a short book (under 200 pages).
TBR: Playing for Keeps
NEW: Wallflower

Fall brings shorter days and less nice weather, which hopefully means more time to curl up with a good book!
🍂 Recommend a longer book (over 300 pages).
TBR: Ninth House
NEW: Chase the Dark

Spring is a time of new beginnings…gardens coming back to life, new leaves on the trees, and lots of baby animals!
🌷 Recommend a book that is the first book in a series, or a book with a pregnancy/baby/child in it.
TBR: Wrecking Ball
NEW: Those Three Little Words

Fall means things are slowing down, plants going dormant or dying off, some animals preparing to hibernate or just burrow in for the winter, and many birds migrating to warmer climates.
🍂 Recommend a book that is a continuation of a series your pickee is already reading, or a stand-alone book. Or you may also recommend a book with an animal on the cover.
TBR: Unlucky 13
NEW: Meet Cute

Spring is a time to say goodbye to the cold, dark winter and look forward to the warmth and longer, lighter days of summer.
🌷 Recommend a book that is light and easy – open to your interpretation, but maybe something humorous, or just a feel-good story with a bit of fluff and little to no angst.
TBR: Tomboy
NEW: P.S. I Like You

Fall is the reverse…leaving those easygoing summer days behind and preparing for the darker, colder days of winter.
🍂 Recommend a book that is a bit darker – maybe something with some suspense or danger, or with some hard obstacles to overcome. Again, this is open to your interpretation, and it doesn’t need to be all dark…HEAs are definitely allowed!
TBR: The Paris Apartment
NEW: Shattered Love

Unlucky 13 (Women's Murder Club, #13) by James Patterson The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley Wrecking Ball (Hard to Love, #1) by P. Dangelico Beauty and the Baller (Strangers in Love #1) by Ilsa Madden-Mills Kitty Goes to Washington (Kitty Norville, #2) by Carrie Vaughn Playing for Keeps (Hot Jocks, #1) by Kendall Ryan Ninth House (Alex Stern, #1) by Leigh Bardugo Tomboy (The Hartigans, #3) by Avery Flynn
Those Three Little Words (The Vancouver Agitators, #2) by Meghan Quinn Awk-Weird (Ice Knights, #2) by Avery Flynn These Hollow Vows (These Hollow Vows, #1) by Lexi Ryan Chase the Dark (Steel & Stone, #1) by Annette Marie Shattered Love (Shattered Love, #1) by Stacey Marie Brown Wallflower by Cookie O'Gorman Meet Cute by Helena Hunting P.S. I Like You by Kasie West

Happy reading!

It's more just a fun way to get book recommendations and nothing is actually required, although I think most people generally make a comment at some point about the books they read. Some as they go, others (if they read multiple books) just a single post at the end of the month. Whatever works best for you is fine!

Hi Kat ~ I (of course) loved Leverage in Death - it's always like being with friends! Halloween Boo was a cute quick short for the holiday. I've completed the following 2 short stories from Dark Fairy Tales - King Midas and Rumpelstiltskin. I enjoyed both of them and hope to enjoy a few more before the end of the month. I'm currently listening to The Hollow of Fear.

I finished listening to The Hollow of Fear. Was glad to get back to this series. I'm not a huge historical fan but, I do like this series as well as the narration. I need to remember to work these into my reading plan. 4 stars

I have two more stories to read from Dark Fairy Tales anthology. So far the only one I didn't really like was The Ugly Duckling - which was just ok. The rest have been 3.5 to 4 stars.

I will be done just in time to start my November reads. Thanks for the lovely picks!

HI KathyD, I read Boss Man Bridegroom (The Bromance Club, #3) by Meghan Quinn earlier this month and I liked it. There were parts that made laugh out loud. All in all, it was great fun. I had hoped to get to another read before the month ends but I don't think it'll be possible. I'll get to them hopefully soon. Thanks again for the recs!
