First and foremost, as a native Masshole, I HEARD and felt every word of this book so deeply. It was like talking to my friends and family, hearing our accents and words. It added an extra special layer to the story for me. And damn what a story it was!! I was completely hooked on Leighanne and Evan's love story. It was passionate, fun, sexy, and, at times, frustrating. I get why he did what he did, but it still pissed me off. Then that ending! Wtf!!!!!!

Review: I can see why this book has a lower rating. It has an enemies to lovers trope, but the transition from enemies to lovers was abrupt and didn't really make a lot of sense. I actually re-read that part of the book a couple times to see if I missed something - it definitely needed some fleshing out. All that said I did enjoy the book, it was a short pleasant read.

I like Samantha Wayland : they are my easy but hot ready to read (and re-read). Lachlan and Michaela ‘s story was new for me but I really appreciate this friendship to lovers trope. They are so sweet.

I always love the nuances and complexities that go along with Omegaverse books. They’re sometimes the fluffiest books, but there’s always something that I can deeply relate to. Poor Cody. He really didn’t deserve half the shit he got thrown at him. But Ethan was there not to pick up the pieces, but to help him find a way to make it all work.

MountainKat | 31599 comments Here is your next task!

Task 21 - 119. As a team, select an author that is new to at least two of you and each teammate reads a book by that author.

Select an author that is new to at least 2 teammates, then each teammate reads a book by the selected author. The selected author would have no read books on the shelves of at least 2 teammates. Please include the teammates the author is new to in your completion posts. (Ideally link to their shelves sorted to the author too. 😁)

I have already read some of Roan Parrish (and I enjoy them if you want to go there), all the others are ok for me so Baylin Crow is perfect also !

message 394: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31599 comments Here is your next task!

Task 22 - 103. Read over 1500 pages in books tagged ‘family’.

Books selected for this task need to be tagged/shelved as 'family'. Variations of the word and combo tags will be allowed in context, 'familiar' or 'no-family' will not work as examples. Tags/shelves are the only qualification for this task. Please include a link to the top shelves page with the qualifying tag along with the exact tag, number of tags and the top shelves page number in your completion posts. This information is extremely helpful if the link is broken or the tag moves - and both happen frequently! Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

Can we use specific family ties? For example if it's tagged brothers/sisters, cousins, etc.
