It's on my TBR, it's just not old enough - has to have been there at least a year.

Chan | 5093 comments hahahaha....never mind. I see what i did. LOL. I picked the wrong book. you have two 'unread' books on your MnG shelf that were added in March. State of the Union and Fireworks.
I checked to see when State of the Union was added to your main tbr in case the date was different from the MnG shelf. It wasn't.

I meant to add Fireworks, but I guess I really wanted you to read State of the Union. sorry about that. Fixing it shortly.

I figured there had to be some reason this was getting a little weird!

For future reference, the date added is the date you initially added it to your bookshelves...has nothing to do with any one individual shelf. It's the same everywhere.

Oh, and since I ALMOST read Fireworks yesterday but something told me not to and I picked something different, I guess I have to read that one! Thanks for figuring it out, Chan!

message 455: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments Thanks for the tip. I wasn't sure about the added dated being the same regardless of shelf.

I double checked my post a moment ago and i had updated it with State of the Union...AGAIN! what is with me and this book. I might need to read it.

My post is really fixed with Fireworks now.

MountainKat | 31763 comments I'm too tired tonight to check you completions and update tracking - i'm not worried, but I will do it tomorrow.

Here is your next task!

Task 21 - 74. Read 6 books published in a teammates' birth month, you may not use your own month.

This is not a team decision, you may read a book initially published in the birth month of any teammate. You may not use your own birth month unless it is the birth month of another teammate as well. Use the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page, use it! Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the teammate and their birth month in your completion posts.

~KarenH~ | 11373 comments Well, my brain is officially on vacation - or was last night anyway! I discovered when I was almost done with my 2nd book that it was published in December, not November...grrrr! The only thing that makes it not quite as bad as it could be is I know Kat has some appts. today and probably wouldn't have been around to give us our new task by the time I finished that book. I've already started another one Visions of Sugar Plums (Stephanie Plum, #8.5) by Janet Evanovich and it's shorter and a narrator that I can speed way up, so should be done in 90 min. or less.

Just when she thought she had life and love all figured out…

Divorce attorney Harper James can’t catch a break. Bad enough that she runs into her ex-hubby, Nick, at her sister’s destination wedding, but now, by a cruel twist of fate, she’s being forced to make a cross-country road trip with him. And her almost-fiancé back at home is not likely to be sympathetic.

Harper can’t help that Nick has come blazing back into her life in all of his frustratingly appealing, gorgeous architect glory. But in Nick’s eyes, Harper’s always been the one. If they can only get it right this time, forever might be waiting—just around the bend.

~KarenH~ | 11373 comments Wow, that's weird...on the editions page it just says First published 2011, and there's no edition with that date. But Kat allows makes allowances for things that GR has incorrect (like bad tags or things on lists that really shouldn't be) I think you'll be ok. I'm still back on the old page, so I can't actually see it.

message 487: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11373 comments Chan, why don't you add a note to your book 1 qualification just saying "see msgs 484-486" or something like that, so Kat doesn't do the same thing I did!

message 488: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments Hi Karen. Okay. thanks. I'll make that update shortly.

message 489: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2932 comments This is another problem with the new page. It puts the date of whatever edition the page comes up on and then after it always has an initially published date, but no indication which edition that is. Then after that it has the list of all the books, but if there aren’t enough editions it won’t open into that page with the full list, and so to actually check all the dates you have to click each edition one by one and all the dates aren’t correct.

message 490: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11373 comments That's interesting...I've never had a problem with the editions or dates before. I've always been able to just go to the editions page. Maybe that's another one of those things like with the tags...sometimes it works and sometimes the option isn't there.

message 491: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2932 comments I think it depends on how many editions there are. Just like there's a problem with the tags. If the amount doesn't hit a certain number, it doesn't offer you the option to "show all". When you open up the different edition pages from the new main page, it's so hard to keep track of which over you've opened already because some just list the year without any other identifier. That list page is so much more useful, but it doesn't come up as an option without something like 5 or 6 different editions. I ended up picking a book specifically because it only had one edition because I was too worried about getting messed up because of the new page

One of the books I saw was from the Vino & Veritas series that we've used for series tasks...looked there and found several fairly short ones that qualify.
