Ross Wynton, leader of WEST Protection.
He’s got a head for the tactical and an instinct for danger.
Then in walks the one person who reminds him that he’s also a man.

After a big breakthrough with her gene editing project, Doctor Pippa Hamlin is neck-deep in danger and threats. On the run, she turns to the only person she knows who can protect her—the hot cowboy crush from her gawky teen years. While she still burns for the man, she hopes he’ll help her reach Seattle for a big conference without meeting more danger.

Discovering who is threatening Pippa becomes Ross’s number one priority. So does easing that fear he sees in her beautiful hazel eyes…and fighting to keep his hands off her tallies is a close second.

Ross fears he’s too distracted and missing something, while Pippa battles to keep her wits to fight for the medical discovery she believes in. Traveling with a sexy, alpha, muscled bodyguard who brings all the heat to places a nerdy doctor ignores is hard enough without wondering if Ross will save her—or break her.

If you like your romance with a dose of suspense, danger and desire, book 1 of WEST Protection, RESCUED BY THE COWBOY is your 1-click now. Walk away from that sink full of dishes and make it romance night!

When scientist, Pippa, makes a discovery of a lifetime, she’s naturally ecstatic to share her breakthrough with the rest of the world. After all, her work will change the face of medicine as we know it. But when she starts to receive death threats, she knows she’ll need to not only protect herself but make sure her work falls into the right hands.

Luckily she’s an old family friend of the Wynton family and her teenage crush now heads a fast rising private security company run by highly trained and seasoned ex-military. Now it’s a race to Seattle with her sexy body guard in tow!

Ross has a firm rule, no getting emotionally involved with the client. And he’s never even been tempted before. But when shy Pippa bursts into his life with a story of being followed, attacked and receiving death threats, he surprises himself with just how protective he becomes of her. He hasn’t seen her in years and she’s grown up from the skinny awkward teenager into a smart, sexy woman who can still blush and charm his hat off, lol!

I’m always down to read about a shy, awkward heroine who captures the sexy hero’s heart so needless to say, the blurb hooked me, line and sinker!

And the author delivered on what she promised. Pippa was a total sweetheart and I loved her. Ross was a bit stubborn and suffered from MHS (Martyred Hero Syndrome) when he tries to push her away "for her own good" *eye roll* but it doesn’t last too long because Pippa isn’t one to back down when it’s important.

After being apart for years, their reunion was a bit comical, with Ross seeing her for the first time as a desirable woman and struggling to deal with his personal wants and needs vs. his professional duties and responsibilities. Then there is Pippa realizing that her childhood crush on Ross isn’t in the past like she’d hoped but rather blazing to life again once she sees the all grown up Ross taking charge like the boss he is :)

Their story is fast paced and there is a lot of ground covered very quickly since they are trying to outrun the bad guys shooting at them while at the same time, exploring their explosive chemistry. There was some laugh out load moments (the case of the lost burger!) and a lot of steamy scenes that built a stronger foundation between them MCs. The sexy times, the banter and the conversation between them reveals true care and affection and that’s what kept me glued to the book.

My only gripe was Meredith . . . I could have done without the ugly surprise that Pippa gets when she finally introduces Ross to her best friend. It was especially hard to swallow because it literally happened right after her own emotional declaration of love #yikes She and Ross talk it out and they both are able to move past it but the cheap shot Meredith dishes at Pippa at the end was not cool. Knowing that it was true and it had the power to hurt Pippa made me really wish this was left out completely. One intentional betrayal is enough, did she really need a cosmic one as well?

Otherwise, this was a good read that I enjoyed. Both MCs are likable and the secondary characters make me curious to know more 😊

It almost pains me to review this book because I usually like Petrova so much, but this thing is just freaking nonsensical.

Between the Montana ranchers being such famous bodyguards that they might work security at the Grammies 🙄, to the insta-love between the MCs, which includes being OK with an accidental pregnancy the first time they get it on, to the hero breaking down a freaking glass wall in a hotel to bang the heroine because she's hiding from him because she's worried about "giving up her dreams" if she gets in a relationship with him, to shoot outs and car chases and our so-called protection expert hero never thinking to get rid of the heroine's phone and laptop so they aren't tracked, to the stupid OW drama and the heroine's unbelievable reaction to it , and finding someone trapped in a wooden crate on a container ship (Seriously, they do not have wooden crates hanging out on decks container ships...that's why they're called CONTAINER SHIPS. Goods have to be secured in containers for transport)....oh my goodness there is so much ridiculousness in here, I don't even know what to say.

And for the love of everything on this earth....you cannot watch a woman's nipples get darker as she gets aroused. Absolute nonsense. And if I see the word nubbin one more time, I might lose my darn mind! I can't think of any word less sexy than nubbin to refer to a part of a female's anatomy. For goodness sakes.

I can't...I just can't

Holy crap. This was hot, exciting, adrenaline-fueled and had me glued to my screen the whole time. Pippa and Ross are smoking hot together. This was a second chance romance of sorts with suspense, danger, and lots of tension and heat that had me fanning myself.

Love the connection this had with the author's other series The Guard and how we get to see Roman again, which then made me wonder when we would get another book in that series.

Another great story by Em Petrova who once again brings strong characters in Pip and Ross and weaves an entertaining read. She pulled me i from page one and held me right to the end. She brings tons of action ,danger and a growing love and moves the story quickly and smoothly with her vividly painted scenes. I loved and would recommend this book.

The cover was great, it was the reason I grabbed this on KindleUnlimited. The writing style is very stiff & stilted. It just didn't flow well, which in turn pulled me out of the story. I would have pegged this as a rough draft because of the flow & plot issues, like the author hadn't worked out all the details or kinks yet. The plot felt very forced, with the main characters just not acting like you would think modern day characters would, for the type of story. This was published in 2021, so there are a lot of things not clarified in the beginning, like if this was meant to take place before 9/11/2001 & airport security (TSA) stuff to board planes since then. If she had the presence of mind to grab her laptop carryon bag from the bathroom stall, why didn't she grab her purse? If the attacker was dazed & almost knocked out & she knew martial arts, why didn't she try to knock him out more to be able to get security in the airport or at the least grab her purse or whatever other bag she left? How did the attacker get a gun thru airport TSA stuff at the airport (since she was already cleared to get on her flight without needing id so she was clearly past the TSA check point)? There's enough forensic type tv shows out there in the past 15 years, that now a days, everyone knows about finger prints or DNA evidence, yet she wasn't careful with the death threat note & she's a scientist! In the end, the main characters did nothing for me emotionally, the plot was to convoluted with hiccups, that I just wasn't drawn into their story to want to continue reading. Not sure I would read more from this author at this point either.

At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Childhood, family friendship turns to much more when Pippa reaches out for help and Ross does everything he can to save her. Intense story, great new character, and adventure with tough bodyguards that goto the extreme to keep those under the safe. Can't wait for more.

Pippa is in trouble and the only person she can think of to call is Ross. She hasn't seen him in 15 years but she knows that he will know what to do once she tells him the trouble she's in. Ross jumps in to help because he's known her family his whole life. Neither one of them expect to discover someone to love while trying to figure out who is trying to hurt Pippa.

I really enjoyed the family dynamic within the Wynton family. I am looking forward to learning more about each brother and cousin. Ross is a strong leader with good instincts. I like that he wasn't perfect and owned it when he didn't know something. He is a multilayered character that I felt the reader only got a little information about but I'm hoping there's more info in future installments. Pippa is smart as evidenced by her education and career. She is a stereotypical nerdy girl in many ways. I thought she was great because she has her head screwed on straight and didn't act like a shrinking violet. (There is one little thing she does near the end that I thought was out of character but I'm not going to get into that right now.) Ross and Pippa don't necessarily look like a good match on paper but I think they make sense together because of their longstanding history and their commitment to family.

This story had some issues in my opinion. I am sort of baffled by how quickly the Wynton's got their security company off the ground. Don't get me wrong. I know businesses sometimes take off like a rocket but the pieces of this puzzle don't quite fit together. One example is that Ross thought about how hard it is to lose just one calf because that is so much money out of the operating budget of the ranch BUT he and his brothers could afford to send all of the staff to top of the line paramilitary training in the first year of operation? Then there's Pippa. She's super smart and has taken martial arts training and lived all over the world. That's great BUT she uses her martial arts skills like she's been training forever instead of a few months in Japan. I still enjoyed to overall story so I'm not going to pick at these issues too much but now I'll be looking for similar issues in upcoming installments.

This is a contemporary romance. Ross might be a cowboy with a white hat but this isn't a cowboy story. This is a straight-up thriller mystery. This is a short book so there isn't a lot of filler or character development time (see the issues I stated above that could have been answered in a longer format). If you like a book that is a fast read and has two smart lead characters, give this a try.

We first met Ross Wynton and his family briefly in “High Stakes Cowboy”, the story of his youngest brother Noah, which was a part of the “Wild About Cowboys” collection. It was a fun story and definitely set the stage for more to come. When I saw that Ross’ book was available I have to confess I couldn’t wait to read it … and it was even better than I could’ve hoped.

Ross Wynton is a calm, cool and capable man with formidable skills and great instincts. As the leader of WEST Protection, he is all about the family ranch and the business. He doesn’t see himself starting a family of his own because he doesn’t have time or interest in cultivating a relationship. When the daughter of old family friends suddenly reaches out to him because she’s in serious danger, he starts to reassess his opinions about things like that. Pippa Hamlin is a brilliant scientist who has made genetic discoveries that have the potential to change the treatment of diseases around the world. She had a crush on Ross when she was young, but she hasn’t seen him since she was just 15. When she realizes her life is in danger, he’s the first person she calls and she heads for his family ranch. They both quickly discover a mutual attraction in the midst of the turmoil descending on her life.

This story was fast-paced and intense. Ross is a dynamic and alpha guy, but he’s got tremendous respect for Pippa’s intelligence and her career. Even though he doesn’t consider himself the type of man who deals with feelings, he’s very self-aware when those thoughts begin to change. Pippa is not just a science nerd … she’s educated herself over the years about top self-defense techniques, and she’s no “helpless woman.” Yet she’s also willing to recognize when she’s in over her head. The secondary characters are excellent and included surprises from other series by the author, which is always a cool thing. I read this book so quickly because I couldn’t put it down … then I was sorry when it was over because it was so good! When you read it you’ll see what I mean by that. The story builds to a nail biting crescendo and ultimately to a great conclusion. I can’t wait for the next one in the series!

Her Bodyguard, Ross Wynton, CEO of WEST Protection, cowboy and rancher. Doctor Pippa Hamlin just made a big big major breakthrough in her gene editing project working for MIZR. She finds herself being stalked, threatened, and in incredible danger, afraid for her life. With the Wynton’s and the Hamlin’s being life long family friends Pippa knew exactly who to call for help. She was certain Ross would be the man that could protect her while getting to the bottom of these threats to her life. She calls Ross from the airport in Detroit and tells him she’s getting on flight 68 for Montana and she needs him to pick her up at the airport, but before she gets on the flight she is attacked in the restroom at the airport, thankfully she is able to fight off the attacker but in her haste to get on the plane the only thing she grabs is her laptop, everything else she leaves in the restroom her carry-on, her purse, coat all personal items. She arrives in Montana and Ross takes over and the plan is put in place to discover who is threatening Pippa. Pippa divulges to Ross that she has to be in Seattle in a matter of a few days to speak at a convention about her big break through. They begin the long road travel to get Pippa to Seattle while at every turn someone is coming at them trying to get to Pippa. There is so much danger and no one can be trusted and until otherwise proven everyone is the enemy. There is nonstop action, danger, threats, attacks, violence, brutality, suspense, deceit, betrayal, suspicions but they also discover along the way the deep feelings they’ve always had for each other are still there, and being alone just the two of them on the road and in the truck those feelings are ignited and they lead to some steamy hot scenes. This is an absolute page turner that I could not put down. The story flowed along very smoothly with some very believable characters. I definitely recommend this story. I am looking forward to the second book in this series Guarded by the Cowboy. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

This book is a fast-paced, thrilling read. Right from the first page I was drawn into Ross and Pippa’s story and held captive until I finished the last word. Both are fascinating characters. Ross is all alpha male, a part time rancher, and full-time head of a security company that he formed with his brothers and cousins. He is highly trained, capable of deadly force and dedicated to protecting his clients. He never dreamed that a childhood friend would need his help and protection services, or that tackling her case would change him forever. Pippa is a genius scientist who has made a discovery that will change the world of medicine for the better. But someone isn’t happy with her discovery and she is getting death threats. After hearing about his security company, she decides to turn to the man who befriended her as a child for help. When she arrives in Montana, Ross realizes two things immediately. First, Pippa’s bruises and shell-shocked appearance mean she is in serious trouble. Secondly, the gangly, shy girl he knew years ago is now a beautiful, super smart woman who he has to fight to keep his hands off of while still protecting her. Tasked with protecting Pippa and seeing that she gets a chance to discuss her discovery at a medical conference in Seattle, Ross takes her on a road trip instead of flying. Of course all sorts of trouble finds them along the way, and the forced proximity lights a match to the desire both try hard to contain. Ross discovers that Pippa is definitely not a shrinking violet, but she is not seeking fame either. She has her own self-defence skills and she has unexpectedly stolen his heart. Increasing threats to her life lead him to call in reinforcements, but will his feelings for her jeopardize his ability to keep her safe? Will they discover the enemy before it’s too late? Will they get a chance at a happily ever after? Read this captivating and thoroughly enjoyable book to get the answers.

Pippa Hamlin is a brilliant doctor. Shy and introverted, she spends the majority of her daily hours working in a lab researching gene editing. She has just made a life altering discovery that will save countless lives across the globe and put her name on the map in her field. Her discovery is so important that someone is willing to kill her in order to steal it.

After being attacked in a woman's bathroom, Pippa flees to the one man she can trust with her life-- livelong friend, Ross Wynton. The fact that she has harbored a secret crush on him for years is beside the point. She needs him to protect her right now and to keep her alive. She doesn't need him for his body...or so she keeps telling herself.

Ross Wynton is one of the owners of WEST Protection. Part-time rancher on his family's cattle ranch as well as full-time bad arse tactical protection strategist, Ross has a head for multi-tasking and a heart for being unable to resist Pippa. But she is not only a ward under his protection but a close family friend. If he messes around with Pippa, both his parent and hers will kick his butt. He definitely shouldn't initiate anything with her but can he resist? Her life depends on him but his heart depends on her...

"Rescued by the Cowboy" is the first book in the WEST Protection Series. Like all of author Em Petrova's romantic suspense series, this one consists of a noble, fascinating group of Alpha males ready to meet and protect their women at all costs. Strong, likeable female leads, plot twists and adrenaline pumping adventures keep this story barreling along. This book is engrossing and well worth the read. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next book in the series to be released.

If you have been a fan of Em Petrova's for a while, there is a crossover event with another one of her romantic suspense series in this book. I won't tell you which, but it was good to be reunited with an "old friend". :)

On the run

Pippa knew exactly who to call when she got the second death threat. But who threatens a scientist? Yes, she had reached a point in her research that could well bring a break through that could save millions of lives. Everyone at MIZT was behind her, the company held certain rights to make use of her discovery, but she still had the controlling rights to it. So what could they gain?
Pippa had grown up with the Wynton’s their families coming together to celebrate holidays, but it had been fifteen years since she’d seen Ross Wynton, head the WEST protection organization. Now she needed his help while she was on the run from a killer.
She’d had a crush on the eldest Wynton, Ross, but she though she had gotten past those feelings years ago. Truth was that when she saw him again, the years simply fell away. She was that gawky fifteen year old again longing for Ross’s attention. She had to pull herself together, to focus on getting to Seattle to present her findings at the gathering of hundreds of scientists at a conference. Now on the run through a blizzard in Montana, the trip was dogged with men snapping at their heels, shooting at them, trying the edge them off the mountain side.
How were these men keeping up, who had sent them and why? In the midst of all the danger, Ross and Pippa found they couldn’t keep their minds totally on escape. Against all his own rules, Ross had to have Pippa in his bed. But would she end up like his other hookups, very short one night stands? Could he manage to keep her safe or was his mind to busy trying to work out his feelings for Pippa to be aware of the dangers right under his nose.
A steamy romance, a bit of a mystery, not too hard to guess the villain, this stand alone with an HEA ending is the first to introduce the men of the Wynton family and offer a look at the big protection business they operate. If your looking for a steamy romance, with a mystery on the side, this is a good quick read.

Rescued by the Cowboy is the first book in Em Petrova’s brand new series, WEST Protection and does this special thing of reintroducing side characters from other books and also a wonderful crossover from The Guard, which I absolutely loved! Ross was first introduced in High-Stakes Cowboy which is part of the Wild About Cowboys anthology (which is still only $.99c) where readers first met Noah. I suppose you could say that Noah’s story is like a prequel to the WEST Protection series as Noah is an integral part of the business.

But I digress; Rescued by the Cowboy is the first full length story and focuses on Ross and Pippa, who has known the Wynton family since her childhood, but moved away to follow her dreams. However, one dream was left behind; and being back in Ross` orbit brings many buried and burning fantasies back to life as they endeavour to protect Pippa’s work and ultimately her life as they embark upon the road trip from hell. Protecting his ward is Ross Wynton’s first and foremost goal, but can the desire that leaves him breathless be ignored in the process? Emotion is not something Ross does well, but Pippa is everything he didn’t know he wanted and if letting her go becomes necessary, he might never survive.

Rescued by the Cowboy is everything I’ve come to expect from an Em Petrova story; it’s fast-paced, action-packed, laden with suspense and has chemistry that will ignite a fire within that burns and consumes those directly in its path. A thrilling, edge of your seat start to this new series that has definitely garnered my attention and longing for more of these sexy, amusing and dedicated men. I was truly heartbroken when The Guard series didn’t continue, so I hope to see more of their wonderful selves in future WEST Protection stories.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! By the time you’ve figured out who is who and who to like and dislike, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
(Believe me when I say you won’t put it down until the last page is read…you will find yourself getting upset cause someone called, texted or bothered you while reading this one, you will find yourself up at ungodly hours just to finish it knowing you have to be at work early (like 3am early) the very next day) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Pippa and Ross know each other through their parents who are friends, so they grew up with each other. Pippa is sweet, kind to others, extremely smart and has been working on a gene editing project which lands her into a little trouble not of her making but people are out to stop her by any means necessary. She knows that she can’t handle the threats, so she reaches to the boy she grew up with Ross isn’t a boy anymore he is a sexy as all get out man, with muscles in places he didn’t have them before. When Pippa comes to him for protection he will not stop until the threat has been neutralized. However, what neither of them expected was the chemistry to be so intense and the magnetic pull couldn’t be ignored but until his Pippa is protected will the feelings continue on the path, will her project continue on the path and is there happiness in the works for them?

West Protection is growing and as this book opens they are having their weekly meeting but not in a place conducive to going over any real agenda. Seriously who sets up a meeting in a strip joint. Ross wasn't sure who had picked this place but he knew he couldn't cover all that he wanted, apparently the guys just wanted to unwind, not discuss business. He was trying to at least talk about some of it when he's interrupted by a phone call.

After finding the note threatening her life and suggesting something had happened to others who made discoveries, Pippa flees her lab. There's only one place she thinks to go and quickly packs a bag and books her flight. She doesn't even think to call the person she's heading to until she's boarding the plane. Clearly proving smart people sometimes have no common sense.

Ross didn't hesitate to head to the airport. Knowing Pippa is being followed is enough to get him moving. They'd been friends for a long time and keeping her safe isn't a question.

There's a lot that happens with Pippa's situation, and I did find myself questioning some of it. For a security company to be near the top of the pile they mistakes I caught were a bit amateurish. Although they did seem to recover from them.

Pippa needs to get to Seattle to deliver a speech on her latest findings and it's decided Ross would accompany her, with others on the team meeting up with them later.

Quite a bit of action, more than a little suspense, however I figured out the who long before the person was suspected.

A quick and fun read with plenty of sizzle between Pippa and Ross.

Wow, what a start to a new series! True to Ms Petrova’s style she has the reader hanging on from the first word written to the last. There’s always a great storyline involved with plenty of danger, suspense, mystery, twist and turns, passion, chemistry and the characters realizing their true love was right in front of them. Her male characters are strong, intense, protective and sexy as all get out. The heroines are intelligent, beautiful, sometimes innocent and too trusting but also capable of knocking the breathe out of their men. This book has it all. Ross Wynton, is the leader of WEST Protection, a security firm that offers bodyguards and protection to their clients. Pippa Hamlin, is a scientist and has made a breakthrough that could change the medical world. She’s the keynote speaker at a convention in Seattle where she will unveil her discovery. When she receives death threats, she knows only one person she can trust and that is Ross. After Ross hears what has happened and she’s on her way to Montana, he decides to take the lead on this job as his and her family have been friends for years. When he sees her for the first time in 15 years, she wasn’t the gangly teenager he had seen last. Now she was a tall, beautiful and stunning woman. As they drive their way to Seattle, the tension and chemistry between the two gets stronger. This is a fast paced and action packed read. I highly recommend this book. Can’t wait to read Boone’s story.

This one sentence is going to tell you what I thought of this book. I started reading this book this morning, and eight hours later, I just finished it. Once I started it, all I did other than read, was to get food and go to the bathroom. I even read when I was eating. This book is that good! Ross is a sexy, muscled cowboy, but he is also head of his own protection security company made up of his brothers, cousins, and friends. Pippa, a family friend that he has not seen since she was 15, is a very beautiful, smart woman and doctor, that has just made a big discovery with gene editing. Now, Ross and his team must protect her, and find who is out to kill her. As you can imagine, this book has lots of excitement, danger, and suspense, but at the same time it brings in all the heat, romance, and love. I really love both Ross and Pippa, because they are both such strong people, but also show their fears and soft sides. It is such a great story, I have already pre-ordered the next two books in this series. Along with the 5+ rating I give this book, I also highly recommend it.

A Great Start to Em Petrova’s New WEST Protection Series
I recently had my first experience reading one of Em Petrova’s books and really enjoyed her style of storytelling, so when I discovered “Rescued by the Cowboy,” the first title in her WEST Protection series, I decided to give it a shot. I mean…cowboys, romance, a bit of suspense and danger? Sounds like my kind of book, and believe me, it did not disappoint! Ross Wynton, rancher by blood and co-owner of WEST Protection by choice, is a strong, handsome, sexy-as-sin Montana cowboy whose protective streak kicks in when a family friend reaches out to him for help. When beautiful and brainy scientist Pippa finds that she is in danger, the first person she thinks to go to for help is the son of her father’s best friend (and her childhood crush), Ross. The story is fast-paced and action-packed while also intensely sweet and passionate as Ross and Pippa try to navigate their growing feelings for each other and still figure out who is out to get her. I really love the sense of family, as well as the glimpses we get of the other characters in the book, and reaching out for help from another security company ties WEST in with Ms. Petrova’s popular The Guard series. Cannot wait for Book 2!

A great start to the new West Protection series.
Ross is an old soul, who just wants to make a successful business even better, do a little ranching, and life is good. That is until he gets a call from his past. Pippa is the daughter of his parents' best friends, and whom he hasn't seen in years-a lot of years, as evidenced by her rockin' very adult bod, that he could have sworn was gangly and awkward the last time he saw her. Beside the point, she's in danger right now and headed his way. She didn't know who else to call.
She made a huge life changing discovery in the lab of where she worked, and is just now realizing her situation is a life and death matter. She trusts Ross, after all she's loved him forever, and it wasn't going away anytime soon, neither were the threats.
High action here, heated scenes, suspense and some crazy banter that keeps you reading till "the end". A lot of good secondary characters, both known and unknown, has me wanting more of this series. A super read for sure, I could have used a bit more to the happy ending here, but I know more of Ross and Pippa will be included in the next books of this series, after all they're building her, her very own lab right there ...

I'm struggling with where to rate this. I'm between a 1 and 3. I figured out who it was right off the bat. It wasn't hard if you paid attention. Here's the thing. I hate insta-love. There are very few books out there that I've bought into the insta-love theme. This was so over the top, I was rolling my eyes reading. Maybe part of it is I'm just reading too many books and I'm starting to get really picky. But obviously, we know they are going to get together. Why do these people have to say I love you immediately. I mean they are together what 2 days?

On top of that, the plot of what was going on was just really over the top too. I mean talk about a complete escalation that doesn't make a lick of sense. We go from taking her mom's earrings to taking a picture with her best friend, to a message of I've done this before or something like that, and then I'm going to kill you. LOL. I won't spoil all the craziness for those that will enjoy it, but this was just not for me. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue or not. The prequel was also insta-love so I'm thinking there is a theme of that with this author...

This book is one I couldn’t put down. It was intense and engaging from the first chapter and I binged read until I finished the book. It is filled with suspense, action, chemistry and best of all a happily ever after. Rescued by the Cowboy is the first standalone novel in Em Petrova’s new series, WEST Protection.

Childhood friends reunite when Doctor Pippa Hamilton seeks out Ross Wynton, leader of WEST Protection, for help after receiving death threats regarding her big breakthrough in gene editing. Sparks fly and the chemistry between them ignites as Pippa and Ross are forced to lay low while travelling together to Seattle for a Medical convention. But will Ross be able to focus and fight to keep Pippa safe when danger surrounds them? Or will he lose Pippa forever? Read it an find out!

I can’t wait for the next book in this series. There are so many Wynton brothers and members of WEST Protection to chose from and I look forward to reading each story.

Fast-paced, non-stop action fuels this intense romance!

What a wild ride! Ross is the first person Pippa thinks to call when she realizes she's got a target on her back, and it takes less than a week for them to fall in love and figure out who's after her. This story hits the ground running and never lets up until they get a very satisfying HEA.

The details of the case are well thought out, keeping the reader on the edge with just enough information while keeping the villain's identity under wraps as long as possible. The romance is full of heart and balanced with a delicious tension that never fails to deliver all the heat.

As the first in a new series, we're also introduced to the rest of Ross's family. We get just enough insight to guarantee interest in the rest of the romances to come.

Ross and Pippa are perfect together, and I loved the writing style that made the most of every one of their moments together. I'm already looking forward to reading the next book in this promising series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is the first book in a whole new series from the very talented Em Petrova after saying that we have met the male hero in earlier series and there are a number of cross over characters from other series Like all of Em's books it is the perfect combination of suspense dram and romance with light hearted moments thrown in.

Ross and Pippa grew up together and new one another quite weel but it has been quite a while since they have seen one another ross is busy trying to grow his security company while still working on the family ranch Pippa has gone into scientific research When her latest work puts her in danger she knows the person to help her is Ross and she heads back home for his help Ross is stunned as Pippa is no longer the gawky young girl he remembers she is all woman now and he is attracted to her As the danger escalates then ross has to work hard not to be distracted by the woman that he is growing to love so that he can keep her safe. When the problem is solved can they have a future together You will have to read to see

Steamy romantic suspense….

Cowboys, danger, long ago crush – this had ‘my jam’ written all over it! I love this author’s strong and uber-interesting characters and Pippa and Ross were just that. One phone call began a desperate journey to (hopefully) safety and the unravelling of a deadly mystery. They dodged unnamed enemies and their bullets as they also realized they had feelings for each other…

Pippa was geeky smart, beautiful and looked to Ross for help, not because she still crushed on him…. Ross was head of a new security firm and Pippa was a curveball he never imagined. Meeting her again, admiring her intelligence, her bravery, and the way she made him feel he didn’t know what to do. Except keep her alive…

This on the run caper was full of all the good things! Life-threatening intrigue – check. Strong, bold characters – check. Sizzling romance – check check! Throw in a fledgling crew of protection experts and a hint of cowboy and voila! A one-sit, totally satisfying read!

*I happily reviewed this story

City girl, country boy. Gotta love this trope

Em Metrics books always pull me in quickly, before the end of chapter one. Ross and Poppa grew up Roger. But she went off to become a world class scientist, he stayed home on the ranch until he and his brothers and sister started a personal security firm.
As Poppa is about to present her research at a conference, work that will change the world of medicine, she calls Ross for help, sure she is being followed.
He agrees to help and then the story really starts.
There childhood feelings blossom into adult love and hot sex. The threat against Poppa is real, and the book reads like a James Bond movie. There are guns shot. There are car chases, and Poppa is kidnapped. Ross and his team save her life, the head bad guy is captured. Pills and Ross are together and going to stay together, presumably with marriage in the future.
What a fun read! I couldn't put it down, and since it's book one of a new series, you're not missing earlier set ups. Prepare yourself for a great time.

Gripped from page one I could not put down this book until the very last letter, its exiting, suspenseful, witty and Hot Hot Hot! Ross has known Pippa from childhood as their parents are fast friends and he remembers her as a 15 year old teen. He never expected the woman he collects from the airport after receiving her call for help. Trying to keep her save and having her on time for a conference she is speaking at, he is not only trying to fend off attackers at every turn, but his own strong attraction to her while keeping his head in the game. The sexual tension and the explosive chemistry between Ross and Pippa almost melted my Kindle they are fantastic characters, as are all the others in the Wynton clan and WEST Protection and am looking forward to reading Boone’s story, that already sounds like a hoot and not to be missed too.
