Diane | 875 comments If it comes to Tales of the High Court, I am actually on book 4 in the series.

message 52: by Diane (new)

Diane | 875 comments OMG I realized I have not been updating my books when I finish them, so spending an hour posting my reviews in case you need to read something I read recently! Can't believe I left it so long.

message 53: by DeeNeez (new)

DeeNeez | 693 comments Ugh 😩 6pm EST seems so long to wait for our first task

message 54: by Diane (new)

Diane | 875 comments Yeah, I was thinking we'd get it during the day.

message 55: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments We are getting it earlier. Kat wrote about it yesterday.

message 56: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments Kats message:

OK everyone, hubby and I are heading out of town in the morning to celebrate his birthday! (It's one of those big ones with a zero on the end!) I will be on my phone and busy, so not really able to answer many questions, but I'll try. If another moderator answers a question, their answer will stand. 😊

I plan to announce the first task a little earlier than scheduled, probably about 3-4 hours - sometime around 11 or 12 US EDT. Remember you need to post in this thread when you are done with the first task and that tasks are assigned no sooner than every other day. The second task cannot be assigned until Friday. I will be prepped and ready to do that from my phone - and will hopefully not have too many copy and paste errors! 🤞🏼

I will be assigning the second task to teams that finish the first without checking your posts - I won't be able to do that until we are home over the weekend. 😊

DeeNeez | 693 comments Well, that’s confusing 😳
11 or 12 EDT happened hours ago…

message 58: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments I have no idea lol. Time Zones that are not my own are confusing 😂 Anyway the task will probably show up soon

message 59: by DeeNeez (new)

DeeNeez | 693 comments Kat posted in Loitering Layabouts….

“Hate to remind you, but the first task always requires a team decision - usually an easy one though.”

message 60: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments It’s usually something super easy. I think last time we had to choose either blue or yellow covers in honor of Ukraine.

message 61: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments I'm skeptical to Tales of the High Court btw, it's both fantasy and historical... not what I'd usually read but I'm always up for trying things at least once. So if that's the way we want to go, let's do it.

message 62: by DeeNeez (new)

DeeNeez | 693 comments I’m not a fan of Megan Derr. I will only read a book of hers if it’s the last resort.

message 63: by Gustaf (last edited Sep 14, 2022 12:09PM) (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments Back to the drawing board then. We need a series that Helke is on board with and we all can read different books for.

message 64: by DeeNeez (new)

DeeNeez | 693 comments Oh, we are looking for a second Series….

message 65: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments Yes. There are two tasks. One is just to read the same series. We are doing Lindenshaw Mysteries for that one.

The other one is that we need to read the same series but can't read the same book. That's the one a multi author series would be perfect for.

message 66: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments First Task - All Teams!

0. Read a sports romance (MPG) or a book with a primarily green cover, teams decide which. No pass for this task.

With both college and pro football seasons starting, I’m sure I’m not the only one with sports on the brain! As a team, decide if you are a book with primarily green cover or a book with MPG Sports Romance. If selecting a sports romance, it can either be the generic Sports (alone or combined) or the specific sports such as football, baseball or hockey - but it MUST be MPG! If selecting books for the cover option, green must be the primary color you see on the cover to qualify. No pass for this task.

message 67: by Gustaf (new)

Gustaf | 1936 comments I'm 100% team sports romance for this one but I'm pretty sure I could manage green cover as well. What do you think team?

message 68: by Gustaf (last edited Sep 16, 2022 08:47AM) (new)

Helke (mogelpackung) | 695 comments OK for sports too.

message 71: by Helke (new)

Helke (mogelpackung) | 695 comments Sorry I don't want to be difficult about the series. I will try to look for other series to talk about tomorrow.

Diane | 875 comments I can't remember, do we post a selection post, or just a completion?

I'm going to read:
Common Goal by Rachel Reid

message 78: by DeeNeez (new)

DeeNeez | 693 comments Oh, someone is asking Kat about her “ MPG Sports Romance” statement.

I never noticed if there was literally a “sports romance” tag on MPG before. Kinda blew my mind, cause I’ve always just looked for “sports” on MPG on our MM Romance books… thought it was the same thing 😳

message 79: by Diane (new)

Diane | 875 comments What? If it's tagged sports then also tagged romance you can't use it??

message 80: by Diane (new)

Diane | 875 comments No, we are fine. Did you see her answer? As long as sports is on the MPG. Phew! Already halfway through my book!

MountainKat | 31593 comments Here is your next task!

9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.

As a team, select a series listed on GR and everyone reads a book in that series. (Does not have to be a numbered series.) Please include the selected series in your completion posts. Teammates can read the same or different books for this task. No pass for this task.

Helke (mogelpackung) | 695 comments I´m reading A Carriage of Misjustice. That is the next in the series for me.

message 94: by Helke (last edited Sep 16, 2022 10:19PM) (new)

Helke (mogelpackung) | 695 comments I thought of other series: Dr. Maxwell Thornton murder mysteries by SC Wynne
Lang Downs by Ariel Tachna
Kip O´Connor series by SC Wynne
Cole McGinnis by Rhys Ford

I know it is heavy on the mystery side. Maybe I´ll find some not mystery series later.

message 95: by Helke (new)

Helke (mogelpackung) | 695 comments Gustaf why do you have past for task 92 as team decide? We have two times future and one I take either.

message 96: by Helke (last edited Sep 16, 2022 10:41PM) (new)

Helke (mogelpackung) | 695 comments As I´m on the pc today I took a closer look at the series Gustaf suggested. I could get behind Vino Veritas.

Or we could try Out of Uniform.

Thank you for noticing, Helke. It's supposed to be future. Changed now.

Dr. Maxwell Thornton Mysteries could work depending on where everyone is in the series, That or Vino & Veritas.

I have already read the whole Out of Uniform series twice,

Me too!

message 100: by DeeNeez (last edited Sep 17, 2022 08:29AM) (new)

DeeNeez | 693 comments I’m open for the Dr Maxwell…I just started that series, so it would be book #2 for me.

I’ve read all of the Cole McGinnis series, so I could read any one of the series.

Vino & Veritas there’s a variety to choose from for me.

Lang Downs or the Kip series would have to be book #1 for me

The hard part is us not reading the same book a series.
