The book starts out in the United States, but the main character travels to India for a family emergency and stays there for the remainder of the story. I rechecked on Kindle and she gets to India 18% into the book, so 82% takes place in India.
I linked to the versions I completed; there are 587 combined pages in the paperback editions.
