It's the sarcasm in it that makes it even MORE with the characters--a personal favorite (Nessie, that is!)

+1 The Narrows by Ronald Malfi+1 Creature by Hunter Shea
+1 Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez
Oooh. I'm going to have to sit with this one for a bit because creature features are my favorites. I have many Hunter Shea books on my Kobo I haven't gotten to yet and can vouch for The Nest, The Ritual, and The Living Dead (all absolutely wonderful). +1 for The Rats by James Herbert
+1 for Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman

That was a previous group read and doesn't really meet the theme. Feel free to nominate something else.

@Joe good to know I’m definitely going to read it either way haha @Alan ok I understand, if that doesn’t fit the theme, How about Night Things by Michael Talbot?
Oh man, The Kaiju Preservation Society looks like so much fun. Lots of books are being added to the tbr pile with this one.
A few more:The Terror by Dan Simmons
The Taking by Dean Koontz
Ararat by Christopher Golden
The Descent by Jeff Long
Can you tell creature horror is one of my favorites!?
+1 The Forest (nominated above)Nominating Mycophoria by Tom GH Adams … it sounds weird and creature-y in a way.
+1 to Carnivore
+1 for My Best Friend's Exorcism+1 for The Kaiju Preservation Society
Nominating The Call of Cthulu by H.P. Lovecraft (would be great to revisit a classic)

My Best Friend's Exorcism is NOT eligible, as it doesn't fit the theme.
