**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**
Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊
I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.
Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.
PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 6, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

I am going to try to not buy a bunch of books this time. So hopefully I can read some that I already own, some from Kindle Unlimited, or some on Audible (I have lots of credits plus sometimes there are good free ones). So if anyone has any good finds/recs on KU or Audible that work for whichever tasks we get, I would love it!
Lynne wrote: "I am going to try to not buy a bunch of books this time. So hopefully I can read some that I already own, some from Kindle Unlimited, or some on Audible (I have lots of credits plus sometimes there..."I never buy books. I use KU, Audible, and Scribd.
Scribd has been a great investment! 10$ a month and lots of books and audiobooks for anything in the library. The books do rotate month to month on availability, but I’ve found lots of good things there:
I'm ready to begin!!!!I'm trying not to purchase books if possible. I have some Audible credits and will use them if needed. But between KU, hoopla, and libraries, I have a lot of options. I have an online card from my local library system plus 4 other out-of-state library cards. If anyone is interested, I highly recommend the Brooklyn Public Library. The card is $50 (I think?) for 2 years and they have a huge online collection of ebooks and audiobooks. The other libraries are great, but BPL is by far and away the best buy for my money.
I'll look into Scribd too, but also started using hoopla a few months ago (through my local library) and it is terrific. New releases without a wait!
Oh, and does everyone use libraryextension? https://www.libraryextension.com/It syncs with GR, Audible, amazon, etc and gives you a list of your libraries and whether they have a specific ebook and/or audiobook and whether it's in stock or not.
@Naomi - it's a pretty amazing collection. More often than not, if I'm looking for a book, they have it. And if they have a lot of holds, they'll purchase more copies.

Whoa I need this!!
And I do have Libby for my local library (Dallas) which is pretty good but I can’t always get things fast enough for a challenge that moves as quickly as this one!

It's my favorite extension EVER. I use it daily.
First Task - All Teams!0. Read a book with either blue or yellow on the cover, teams decide which. No pass for this task.
I am sure we are all aware of the nightmare taking place in Ukraine over the past month and a half. To honor the Ukrainians’ strength and sorrow, the first task is to read a book with a color from the Ukrainian flag. Teams decide which color, blue or yellow. The selected book need to be primarily the selected color. No pass for this task.
Will blue work for everyone? I think that's probably easier to find than primarily yellow.
Side note: I remembered the rules incorrectly and said we couldn’t do Harry Potter because not romance. Maybe I was thinking of The Bachelor challenge. Anyway, this challenge doesn’t have to be MPG Romance! “Books do not have to be romance, but must be fiction.”
COMPLETION POSTTask 1: Read a book with either blue or yellow on the cover, teams decide which. (BLUE)

On the surface this feels like a light rom-com. But early on, when Rosie thought Dinosaur Dave sent her the flowers, she was ready to take him back. No matter that he embarrassed her on live TV and that she admitted to not having a strong connection with him. So in her mind, it's not what she wants in life, it's just whether an ex wants her back or not. And if he does, she's ready to jump back in to a relationship with him no matter what.
Once I realized this was the case, then I expected the book to follow Rosie's growth as a person. She would grow up and realize that her own feelings were important. Sadly that didn't happen. She just went from one ex to another, worried about how they were feeling about her and wondering if they were the ones who sent the flowers. And she never really learned to look inside for those answers. There was a lot of potential here, but it's hard to like a heroine who needs to grow as a person, but doesn't do so during the course of the book.

Adam's Song by Spencer Spears
Read: 4/13
Rating: 3⭐
Pages: 472
Review: My like of Adam decreased as the story went on. His actions don't back up his words about how he feels about Ben. I would have rated this higher is Adam's actions didn't make him seem like a petulant teenager at times. Ben was a sweetheart throughout the story. I liked the side characters as well and will likely read their stories at some point in the future. I usually really like friends-lovers trope, but this one fell a bit flat for me.

Poirot Investigates by Agatha Christie
Read: 4/13
Rating: 3⭐
Pages: 256
Review: Overall I was disappointed. Agatha Christie (and Hercule Poirot) work better in novel-length mysteries! You just need more time to set up a full mystery. So I was less satisfied with most of these stories, although a couple were entertaining.
Completion PostTask: Read a book with either blue or yellow on the cover, teams decide which. No pass for this task.

You made me think she changed the rules. lol
You just have to rate it no review. I am horrible with reviews.
I think she has just said that reviews are welcome. So I am going to try to do at least a short one, but it isn’t necessary. The rating is though!
