"Please get off of me." she begged him. She was tired of being used.
"Because I'm tired of men." she told him honestly.
"Most are pigs." she agreed
"Would you just get off of me?" she asked trying to push him ofd
"I've told you why." she sighed and just game up, going completely still under him to the point that she almost wasn't breathing.
She continued not moving, her eyes closed as she focused on slowing her breathing.
She opened her eyes and watched him as she stood up and brushed herself off. Her shirt had ridden up her back a bit, revealing layers upon layers of scars on her back.
He sees the scars"Hen did you get those.
"How do you think I know that rapists like it when women scream?" she asked him pulling her shirt back down and picking her bag back up.
"Not your fault. Duncan's the one who pimped me out, not you." she told him
"Anyway why were you following me in the first place if you aren't one of Duncan's guys?" she asked
"But it doesn't really make much sense." she told him running a hand through her long hair.
"I saw you and wondered what a pretty girl like you was doing on her own
"Running. I have been for a long time." she sighed
"If you want we can work together."
"You attacked me." she reminded him
"Words don't mean much these days." she sighed but was already thinking about the advantage of having someone else with her.
"Yeah true" he says and sighs.
"I'm Julia." she held her hand out to him
"I'm Tyler" he says shaking her hand
"Were you headed anywhere specific?" she asked
"Not really just looking for a new place"
"Okay." she nodded and shoved her hands into her pockets.
"Just away from them." she shrugged
"So I guess we are going in the same direction then." she smiled. "I actually need to stock up so next town we find we need to stop." she told him
She fell into step beside him and walked quietly
"So, what's the answer to my obvious next question?" she asked him after an hour of walking in silence.
"Well it should be obvious,it is the question that everyone asks when they first meet." she told him
"Sorry I don't meet much people anymore"
"Many." she corrected him automatically, not even thinking about it. "So where were you when the world fell apart?" she asked
"Really? Wow that sounds so normal" she shook her head.
"Were you still in high school or university?" she asked curiously.
