The Sword-Witch's Heart by Tavia Lark
262 pgs
Qualification: #3 Radiance
Read 03/05
★★★★1/2
This book is full of adventure, danger, attraction, secrets, comradery, betrayal, and love with a little humour to keep things from being too dark. I really liked Evain and Leth; I really believed in the feelings between them.

Whew!

Book: Back in Society
Author: M.C. Beaton
Pages: 192
Rating: ***
How it fits: it is the 6th book in the series
Review: There was an assassin in this story. A little bit of danger. But the heroine's real bad guy didn't show up until the end. It was nice that the author brought back all the characters in the story for the ending. Even the annoying Sir Phillip was taken care of :)

Moonstruck by Onley James
Pages: 298
Read: 3/8/22
Rating: ★★★★
I didn't like this one as much as the first two but I still really enjoyed it. I think it didn't gel with me as much because Atticus was too "normal". He was nearly as nuts as his brothers in the first two books which is what kind of made them so spectacular. This one had some smoking hot sexy times and lots of them but I found myself wanting to get back to the mystery of Jericho's sister. That's just sad. Another great installment, can't wait to move on to the next one.

I totally felt the Same! In the first couple of books he was so damn funny. I thought he was going to totally screw up every assassination. But...

Book: Scandal And The Duchess 3.5* ✔️ 3/8
Pages: 160 pgs
Fits: Mackenzies & McBrides #6.5
Bonus: NO
Review: 3.5* This was really good. I'm not really in the mood to write a review. So...

Steven drunkenly bumps into Rose who takes him home. Her husband Duke Charles had died & the new Duke his son is an ass. (view spoiler) They go on a search for the pieces she wants. They also decided to have a fake Betrothal.

My favorite part was when all the MacKenzies and McBrides got together.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Book: Scandal And The Duchess
Author: Jennifer Ashley
Pages: 160
Rating: 3.5 stars. Not quite 4 star territory, but I liked it!
How it fits: it is the 6.5 book in the series
Review: I love the Mackenzies and I really like the McBrides, so how could I go wrong? Scandalous widow Rose Barclay has a weird paparazzi following. Sexy Steven McBride bumps into her (literally) and sparks fly. Rose is way too sweet, which Steven can see, and he wants to protect her, so a fake engagement is proposed. Well, you can guess what happens next. Look out for the HEA, which is why I adore Jennifer Ashley. 3.5 stars.

I managed to read 23 pages of Summer Queen. I could lie and say I read it, but I didn't, and I can't. :-(
My reading mode is over for now. I'm sorry to have failed you, and forced you to use the free card, and find someone to replace me.

I have several fun 6's on deck. Maybe Chasing Cassandra or Miss Julia's School of Beauty.

Okay, I'll admit it, Tyler drove me absolutely crazy with his denial. However, he came across as so genuinely confused and conflicted that it kind of made sense. We all knew Nick had it bad for Tyler but when he was trying to protect himself and got the "cold look" I felt bad for Tyler. He didn't know what the hell was going on. And the sex. There is a lot of sex in this book. Usually I'll skip some scenes when there's just so much but not in this book. Holy hell, the smexing was smoking freaking hot. I loved every single scene! Another great one!

#6 in Lost Wolves Series

good instalment to the series
Some action and danger. That Sultan was awful but I liked Aslan’s sisters. I liked Kamil even though he seemed out of his depths a few times despite being a captain of the guard. I liked Aslan more, I think.
I see that from the book there was supposed to be a 7th book about Arno but it doesn’t look like that happened. To be honest, I’m glad as he doesn’t deserve a hea.

I. Know. I was hoping for a 7, but thank God I have tons of 6's.
Sorry I've been sick this week. If I would have gotten on here, I could have reminded you that #4 would have been a one word title. Lol

Review: God this was good. Especially for a Novella. It was FAF in places. I loved Karina & how strong she was. She was resilient. Damn what she went thru in her young life was tough. I loved how she got revenge on people who wronged her & didn't put up with crap. I also loved her teasing Mr. Grumpy clean freak.

& Derek... Man! when that guy goes all in, He goes ALL IN! 😍😍😍

Book: Jane and the Burning Question
Author: Sarah J. Waldock
Pages: 261

How it fits: it is the 6th book in the series
Review: It's nice to catch up with Jane Austen's Jane Fairfax and her new husband, Caleb. But there wasn't a lot of depth to the story though. The good people were good. The annoying people were annoying. The Armitage gang were smart and perceptive. And they always saved the day and caught the bad guy. Nothing much new.

Book: Miss Julia's School of Beauty
Author: Ann B. Ross
Pages: 320
Rating: 3 stars
How it fits: 6th in series
Review: Miss Julia and Hazel Marie are at it again. This time, Miss Julia isn't sure if her elopement to the wonderful and patient Sam is legal. They ran off to beautiful Dollywood to tie the knot. She panics because some rando-celebrity finds out his marriage at Dollywood wasn't quite legal, and off she goes, jumping to conclusions and making me insane. I won't spoil you on the ending, but, rest assured, the sainted Sam is still around at the end. Of course. And there is the main plot of the beauty pageant going on, too.
I don't really like Miss Julia, but she has a lot of flaws most of us have and don't want to admit, plus, I love Sam and Lillian, so I stick around.

There are only 2 teams that are super close to us. But that could change in 💓. We also have our free pass but that can't be used on last roll to win. it can be used next week tho.
The 1st one over 100 & finishes their books wins. Since we also have to finish our books, I'd recommend to make sure you have a #9 & something for a hundred, either a 1 or standalone that is not really long. Or you could have something for every alternate, but that seems daunting to me. It has to be over 140 pgs. Thoughts? other suggestions?
