Cold Case Psychic #7

Dead in the Water

Rate this book
Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara, has set sail on the honeymoon of his dreams to sunny Bermuda. He’s looking forward to a week of fun in the sun with his husband, Tennyson, but nothing is going as planned. From a fight between Truman and Carson that’s threatening to break up their marriage, to Captain Fitzgibbon’s on-again, off-again lover not showing up to meet the ship, to dealing with his always challenging mother-in-law, to frenemy, Jude Byrne, showing up with a suitcase loaded with sex toys and lube, Ronan has all he can do to stay sane.

Psychic, Tennyson Grimm, is on the ship to work as well as honeymoon. The cruise ship line has hired him to be the “celebrity” on their celebrity cruise. In between private and group readings reuniting family members with those who have crossed over, Ten is running himself ragged attempting to put the pieces of Truman and Carson’s marriage back together and trying to keep Jude from horn-dogging after the ship’s captain, all while trying to squeeze in a few stolen, passionate moments with his husband. He isn’t having much luck.

During the return trip to Boston, Ronan and Tennyson are enjoying a performance of Murder Mystery Night staged by the ship’s crew. When the crewmember playing the murder victim turns up dead for real, Ronan and Tennyson must set “fun in the sun” aside when the ship’s captain allows them to investigate the crime.

Putting the clues together, the Boston detectives corner the cagey killer who takes someone close to them hostage. Can Tennyson and Ronan save the day before they end up dead in the water?

Another great instalment in the series.
The whole gang are going on Ronan and Ten's honeymoon cruise to Bermuda.
Things dont start off so well with Carson and Truman at each others throats and Jace waiting until the last moment to board the ship.
Towards the end a real murder occurs.
We have to wait and see whats in store for our friends as several relationships are on the edge.
Roll on October 2nd

1.5 Stars. I've been reading this series with mixed feelings and even though I spend SO MUCH time rolling my eyes I seem to keep reading the next one - but this one had to be the worst because the case just didn't work at all!

First the mystery didn't even start until after the 50% point and even then it was so ridiculous. The villain could have so easily gotten away with everything - as there were no evidence and the murder was committed at sea. But then the villain goes nuts in a way that made no sense.

So much relationship drama between the couples and I didn't even really get the whole Kevin and his partner (can't remember his name). Honestly there wasn't much I liked about this book except Jude but I'm so far into this series I'm not sure I have it in me to quit.

Well, they ALMOST made it clear through the book without bullets flying... *headdesk* ;p

There were a lot of interesting things happening in this story that kept me entertained and there were a couple of things that just plain confused me... but what the hay, maybe I just need to get online and check out a few of those "toys"! LOL!!!

Luckily, I can move right along to Dead of Night and see what Ms. Pine has in store for Ten, Ronan and the gang next!

(¸.•´♥ (¸.•`♥Hail, hail, the gang's all here.

Now that the holidays are over, the Cold Case psychic crew are off on an adventure that's sure to be something to remember. Ro and Ten are taking their honeymoon to the deep blue seas on a cruise to Bermuda. What should have been a good time had for all, turns out to be a lesson in family values. Once docked, will the family still be united, or will the hi-jinx of all that is going on tear them apart?

There wasn't one scene where I didn't want to be a part of it. Ms. Pine gave us a cruise to remember and a mystery to solve, all wrapped up in one. Enough heat to burn, laughter to score and resolution galore; I so wished I was a part of this tour. And did anyone catch onto the brunette on deck scribbling her fingers off? Guess who THAT turned out to be. I never knew that an author could invite herself to the party, hahaha. Way to go Pandora!

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

Cleverly plotted, Pandora Pine's seventh novel in her "Cold Case Psychic" series looks at more family and extended family ties for a mystery, a cruise to Bermuda and a mystery solving game gone crazy. Pine develops some of her newer characters with her old in this honeymoon cruise week for Ronan and Tennyson. Enjoy.

Great continuation of this series. This was a hard one as not everyone is in a good place. So we are on Ronan and Tens honeymoon cruise but it’s not all sunshine and sexy times. Carson and Truman are so at odds with each other and it appears that they may not survive. Kevin and Jace are at a crossroads and it’s not looking good for them either. In a way I’m glad I have read the spinoffs so I know what happens in the future. And my poor baby Jude. He has to really stop thinking with “Jude log” :). So on top of Ten and Ronan trying to get Carson and Truman over their hump and working on Kevin and Jace we have horndog Jude hooking up with the captain of the ship no less, we having screaming babies, psychic show/readings, island hopping and of course a dead body. I enjoyed the show that Ten put on and would have really liked to see more of that. His connecting with the dead love ones is my favorite part. So on the last night of the cruise, the crew is going to put on a murder mystery. But what they don’t realize is the man that is playing the part of the dead guy isn’t playing. So now we have a real murder investigation. I figured out the killer pretty quickly, but not the reason why. I just had a feeling about them when we first meet that person. But in the end the killer is caught and everyone, with the exception of Kevin and Jace, are in a good place. I hope these series are around for a very long time.

Ronan and Ten never disappoint, and this cruise adventure is another wonderful installment. With both their living and ghostly family members in tow, they juggle vacation vibes with their usual knack for stumbling into murder mysteries. I especially enjoyed the added depth we get with Truman, Carson, and Jude—he’s turning out to be a fascinating, multi-layered character. The balance of humor, heart, and sleuthing made this a really fun read. While it’s not the most suspense-packed entry, the characters and their dynamics shine, making this a great addition to the series. Excited to dive into the next one!

3.5 "getting back on track" stars rounded up.

Finally on a real honeymoon, Tennyson and Ronan are set to enjoy the sun, the water, and a lot of time to reconnect. Well, as much as they can between feuding family members, psychic readings, and a murder mystery dinner that turns into a very real murder mystery.

Emotionally I think that Ronan and Tennyson are back on track. They're using their words and their actions to express how they feel like mature adults and are truly understanding how to connect when the other is at their lowest. The rest of the crew, however, are making up for all that loveliness by sniping, backbiting, being pissy and passive aggressive, and refusing to soften and forgive. Usually that's all Ronan and Ten's job but they're now thrust into the roles of peacemaker and counselor. They take up the mantle rather well, actually, so it's nice to see them use the tools they've been given all along to help their friends.

We're now in book seven and I can honestly say I'm pretty much over their jokes and expressions of affection that all sound like insults. I get that there are relationships like that but it seems like every character, especially Kevin, Ronan, Jude, and Ten, are pioneering new ways to avoid saying nice things in favor of using cruel and rude words to express love and caring instead. While I'm fine with it if the conversation lends itself to that kind of banter, this is being used during every conversation.

As for the murder mystery bit, most of it felt pretty organic. The villain was pretty bad and quite a bit over the top as was the reaction of the one friend that was involved with them. Aside from the larger-than-necessary actions and reactions it all went together pretty well and the confrontation wrapped up rather quickly.

It's the relationships that take the stage in this story rather than the crime. It added an element of reality for Truman and Carson to go through turmoil and frustration, that no relationship is immune from difficulty. Except it was Jace and Kevin's relationship that was the most chaotic. For our second introduction to Jace he's doing a helluva job ruining my opinion of him. We know there's a lot of stuff going on underneath the surface but to act like he does isn't giving me hope that those reasons will truly make up for it. Let's hope that That Old Magic gives us some decent groveling and hope for those two.

Overall I think we're getting back where we need to be in terms of character evolution and family growth. This was a fun, sweet, and emotional addition to the series that I think came just in time for everyone's next phase that's coming.

Holy emotional roller coaster, Batman!

I love this series, so when I saw the blurb for this one, I admit I was a bit wary of what was about to go down between some of the characters. And yeah, it had my emotions all over the place, but I was glued to it from the second I started it until the end. Though it had my heart in a vise and my stomach in knots at times with how contentious things were between some of the couples, I fully appreciate the realistic issues Pandora Pine showcased here. Things are not automatically sunshine and roses in a relationship once love comes into the picture, and those happy times can vanish so quickly with even the tiniest of things building up over time. Real relationships, lasting ones, take work and commitment, and the approach Ms. Pine took in this book to the issues some of the couples were dealing with was something I found myself admiring... even though I wanted to reach into my kindle and slap some sense into all of them many times.

Okay, now the heavy stuff is out of the way, this book also has everything else I love about this series - Ronan (and Ten, but if you have read any of my reviews for the earlier books in this series, then you know I have a major soft spot for Ronan. Major.), family, friends who are family, psychics, readings, laughter, love, and my beloved Boston and Salem (what? Take it from me, you can take the psychics out of Salem and the detectives out of Boston, but you definitely cannot take the cities out of them). There is also mystery and intrigue and some seriously HOT scenes, along with excitement for what is coming next for Ronan and Ten, worry and a major soft spot I have developed for Jude (I am starting to see a pattern here)... and yeah, sincere pain and heartache for Kevin and Jace. Because ouch. Read it. You'll see.

The cruise and the murder-mystery dinner twist were fun and a bit different for this series, and I loved it! Ronan and Jude's bromance might be my favorite part of Dead in the Water, though.. even if neither of them won't willingly admit to said bromance actually.. well.. bromancing. And Jude? Well, I have a feeling he will end up one of my favorite characters I have read in a while. There is a lot to him we don't know and I can't wait to find out more. If you haven't read this series, go start!!

Oh, and Pandora Pine gets major points here for the Ghost reference. Swayze for the win. 'Nuff said.

Yet another fantastic book in this series. Pandora's Cold Case Psychic has fast become one of my favourites.
I love this book as we get to spend so much time with the other characters in Ten and Ronan's lives. The two men invited their self made family along on a cruise with them to Bermuda but not everyone is a happy family. Even just that part of the book brings a lot of emotion from our two main characters, such elation at their relationship but such sadness at seeing their loved ones so unhappy. My heart was breaking especially for Captain Fitzgibbon.
Yet, even with all of this emotional turmoil going on, we then discover a murder on the cruise ship. This doesn't happen until a bit further into the book but everything is really well spaced out, and though there is a time limit on their investigation time, it's not rushed in the writing.
I was really happy to see that Ronan an Ten still got to spend a little time with just the two of them together, we still had visits from Bertha and Erin, despite being at sea, and even though not everything happening on board was happy we still got to see some fun amongst the family, the funniest for me being at the end of the book.
As I said, I love this series, and this book, and cannot recommend it enough. This book fits right in with everything we've experienced so far with the Cold Case Psychic duo. Great writing from Pandora, as well as a good murder mystery we get to see the development of Ronan and Tennyson's relationship as well as that of their friends and family. I'm really hoping to see more from Kevin and Jude, maybe their own books at some point!
I would highly recommend reading the series in order as we have development and continuations throughout the series with all of the characters and their stories.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

This book is so good. I loved it. This is already the seventh book in the series, but it doesn’t get old one bit. Pandora Pine delivers on all fronts once again. Her writing is so captivating that you can’t put the books down once you start them. The characters, the plot, the intrigues, the humor. Everything makes her books a delight to read, and this is no exception.
Tennyson and Ronan are on their honeymoon, but not alone. No, with the entire family. The very large family they gathered around them during their adventures in the previous books. And it couldn’t be more perfect as these books become more and more about the family. Yes, Tennyson and Ronan are still the MCs, but the secondary characters, although I can hardly call them that anymore, have their own important roles to play. My new bestie, Jude, is smack-dab in the middle of it all. I love him so much. He still is a mystery, but a very funny one, and we learn just a little bit more about him. Not nearly enough, but I am sure we’ll get there in the end.
Of course, there is a suspenseful plot in this book, as in all Pandora Pine’s books. And once again, she managed to surprise me with this story. It is absolutely nail-biting and heart-pounding thrilling, and this time the family band together to solve the mystery with a little help from the naughty women from beyond.
The emotions are running very high in this story. Bad ones, good ones, heartbreaking ones. I cried and laughed with all of them, and sometimes I just wanted to smack them on the head and hold them tight at the same time.
This is book #7 in the Cold Case Psychic series, and it is not meant to be read as a stand-alone. The books need to be read in order.

I love this group so much! Ten and Ronan are a couple I will never get tired of, and they remain solidly together in this installment. This book takes place on their honeymoon cruise to Bermuda, which they have graciously invited their friends and family to share with them. Unfortunately, Ten and Ronan, along with Cole and Cassie, are the only couples in their group who aren't butting heads. My heart hurt so many times, and I teared up at several points in the story. These people are so full of goodness and love, that I hate when they're unhappy. Kevin and Jace, Truman and Carter, and my poor Jude, all have to deal with a lot of pain this time around. I think of these as my people, and I want them to feel loved and happy all the time.
This book focuses on the relationships of the couples, as well as Ronan's love/hate bond with Jude. The two should be brothers, they're so much alike. There is quality time with the ghost moms, Greeley, Kaye, Emilyn, Laurel, and the triplets. As a matter of fact, it's all about the various relationships, until somebody dies.
The murder doesn't occur until well into the book, and it's a head scratcher. Almost the entire group works together to figure this one out, which is an interesting change that works well. Bottom line, this is a great addition to a series I adore, and I hope for many more books to come!

I've been reading this series with mixed feelings. The mystery aspect kept me going even though I thought the relationship(s) got a little sugary for my taste. But the series has progressively dissolved into a soap opera with very little mystery/case work. And this book might just be the final straw.

The premise of having everyone on board a ship, tagging along on Ronan and Ten's honeymoon, had me conflicted from the start. Could have been fine. Unfortunately, the author chose to write all the couples at odds with each other and/or overwhelmed with kids. And not in a "this is life" kind of way. In an obnoxious, bratty, "I don't care if this is your honeymoon trip, I'm going to ruin this cruise for everyone" kind of way.

Yes .... of course, they work everything out. But it takes almost the entire book and nothing else has really happened beyond running from couple to couple putting out flames.

By the time the book gets around to the murder, it's more than half over. A few half-hearted scenes show their group of law enforcement, psychics, and ghosts asking some questions and poking around and then confronting the murderer, but it's still mainly just the couples reconnecting and over sharing and sugary sweetness.

Which - don't get me wrong - is fine if that's what you are looking for. But if you are looking for a mystery/crime series then you may be disappointed.

This is another entertaining and fun story in the Cold Case Psychic series. Pandora Pine always delivers a well-written and hilarious book with an exciting mystery and amazing characters. In Dead In The Water there is the addition of everyone that is important to Ronan and Ten being together on a cruise. Carson and Truman are dealing with a major problem in their marriage while Kevin is trying to actually have a relationship with Jace, Ronan and Ten are determined to enjoy their belated honeymoon and everyone else is there to have fun. When they have a murder to solve with only a day and a half left before they head home anything could happen. There are a lot of surprises and twists and turns in this story and I could not put it down. The best part of this story is the hilarious and mostly snarky back and forth between Ronan and Jude. I could not stop laughing when Jude and Captain Noah overhear Ronan and Ten on their balcony and give them a rating on their performance. My favorite line from Ronan is “I guess it all depends on Jude and his magical dick after all.” Luckily they don’t have to rely on Jude’s dick as they scramble to solve the murder and keep everyone safe. I love the ending and I can’t wait to read the next book in this fabulous series.

This is the seventh book in The Cold Case Psychic Series. A captivating book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters intriguing. The characters were developed and thought out. Detective Ronan O’Mara and Psychic Tennyson Grimm are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, fighting, murder, spirits, sex, friends and family, babysitting, an aquarium, puffer fish and so much more in this book.

Here is a quote from the book, “Good idea, honey. If they don’t knock it off, Uncle Ten and I will just throw a bucket of water on them.” “What are you saying?” Ten came into the bathroom carrying Brian. “Bertha’s suggestion to help her parents is to splash them.” Ronan grinned at his husband before wiping a dollop of soap off his cheek.”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can highly recommend. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next book. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Love at Sea

I just love this series and I hope the author continues to write it forever! This book focused a lot on relationships, and not necessarily the newlyweds of Ronan and Tennyson. All Ronan and Ten want to do is enjoy their honeymoon, with a bit of work for Tennyson thrown in, but their families who have joined them are making that difficult. Truman and Carson are all over the place in their fight with each other, and Tennyson ties his best to help repair the damage they are causing themselves. Plus, Kevin and Jace are running amok as well.

Just because Ronan and Ten are honeymooning, doesn’t mean they will get a break from having solve a crime! I just love revisiting this group with each book, and I am always left wanting for more. I can’t wait for the next!

If you liked the storyline of Jace and Captain Kevin Fitzgibbon, make sure you check out their novella, That Old Magic, to see if they can get their HEA!

Oh my word. This was just amazing. Ten and Ronan finally get to go on their honeymoon, and the whole cast of fun characters is there for the trip. Of course, it doesn't go as smooth as they hope, but it never does in Ten and Ronan's world. Carson and Truman are having relationship troubles and Jace and Kevin are in a very bad place. On a positive side, though, we see Ten's relationship with Kaye get a little stronger, Ronan is forming a better friendship with Jude, and the whole crew is one big wonderful family. We do have an unfortunate murder near the end that the guys have to solve, but it wraps up beautifully. I do have to admit, though, that my favorite chapter was the epilogue at the end. I laughed out loud through almost the whole thing. Love this book and can't wait for more.

All At Sea!

Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara is on a honeymoon cruise to Bermuda with all his friends and family. Looking forward to some R & R. But things are not going as planned.

His best friend Truman is fighting with his husband. Fitz is fighting with Jace, his mother-in-law is being difficult, and Jude just wants to have fun with the Captain.

Psychic, Tennyson Grimm got the cruise free for himself Ronan and their friends by agreeing to be the cruise lines “celebrity", not a marriage counsellor.

As if things couldn't get worse, on their way home the Murder Mystery Night becomes all too real. Can Tennyson, Ronan and their friends follow the clues to a murderer or will someone close to them pay the ultimate price for failure.

Pandora has done it again with this excellent Free Kindle Unlimited book with a very Agatha Christie plot.

Okay
I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion.
What was meant as Tens and Romans belated honeymoon slash family holiday with all there mismatched friends on their cruise ship holiday is not the happy peaceful one they were expecting. There friends are arguing and adding tension to the group and a murder gets thrown their way.
I enjoy reading this series but this book focused mainly on the emotional upheaval within there chosen family which seemed to be one long argument and hurt feelings. The mystery wasn't much of one but still enjoyable. Although I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others it was still good and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next to these characters but I would love more mystery in the next one

The gang is back and this time on a cruise ship.  Celebrating the honeymoon of Ronin and  Tennyson, our guys are cruising in what is meant to be a happy time but for some couples, their relationships are more rocky than the choppy sea. And then tgere is the matter of the dead waiter and a murder they must solve.

Another wonderful story from Pandora Pine, Dead in the Water is book seven in the Cold Case Psychic Series. These characters give us comedy, swoony feelings and hot hot hot sexy times. The storyline is well written and grabs you and won't let go. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I received this book as an advanced reader's copy and voluntarily am leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Psychic/detective honeymoon on the open seas MM Romance

3 stars

This one was a doosey! Tons of family drama within this chosen family and not even a week in sunny Bermuda can fix it! When a murder happens aboard the cruise ship it's Ronan end Tenn to the rescue.

What I loved about this book was all the shows Tenn put on. I think that is my favorite thing about this series. I love when Tenn talks to the dead. I would like about 40% more talking to the dead in each book. What I didn't like in this book was who the killer is. This author really likes to throw the curve balls out. I also wanted an update about this person being apprehended ect.

Overall, a good continued story and another mystery solved on the 7 seas.

Let me start by saying this wasn't my favorite of the series but it was still really good. I loved getting to see more of Ronan and Tennyson. I really liked getting to see that not everything was always sunshine and rainbows in this little world after the HEA too. It takes place on a cruise ship and a lot of the story is about the other secondary characters relationships. There is fighting over stupid things and being too stubborn to admit when you are wrong. There are cute babies and pervy ghosts. There is a murder and our group has to solve it. It was just a fun little romp. I did feel like there wasn't enough focus on the mystery but that may have just been me.

The best yet!! Ronan and Ten’s honeymoon...

This is Ronan and Ten’s honeymoon with ghostly mothers, best friends, babies and Chief of Police as well as Ten being the star attraction for the cruise and participating in a fun murder mystery dinner! I laughed so hard through this story I had tears running down my face. Undoubtedly this is the best one yet in this series, Pandora Pine is at her most creative, she’ll have you so sad one moment then roaring with laughter then crying — get ready for a roller coaster of a ride!

I have to say this whole series is exceptional and this new release is no different. Ronan and Ten face emotional angst that was unexpected on the cruise they set up for their family of friends and must wade through the pain and suffering of Truman and Carson and Fitzgibbon and Jace. All the while the author tosses in humor that lightens the darkness that is hanging over these friends and makes the reading of this book doubling enjoyable. Can't wait until the next book and would recommend this whole series as they really aren't standalones. You won't regret it.

A Not So Relaxing Bermuda Cruise

On what’s supposed to be a relaxing cruise to Bermuda, trouble awaits. The most loving couple ever have reached an impasse; the boss is having love-trouble with his off-on boyfriend; and Byrne is acting like a sex-starved teenager with the captain of the ship. It’s fun. There’s a short mystery with a near-explosive ending. Everyone including the newest psychic member of the group has their turn to shine - it’s pretty incredible how PP juggles all these characters! A lot of fun for readers of the series.

I always love Tennyson and Ronan...Like crazy people they take their entire found family on a cruise to Bermuda. So much drama along the way, Carson and Truman are fighting. Jace and Kevin just can't seem to make it work. And Jude is his sex obsessed, extremely annoying self. Trying to enjoy each other, while Tennyson is doing readings for patrons on the cruise, and dealing with helping their extended family has them exhausted. The last straw is while attending a murder mystery dinner, one of the cast members actually dies. This honeymoon will be unforgetable for sure.

Such a fun read!! Mix Humor, angst, passion, murder mystery, and our hero's Ronan and Ten and you have a winner! Unique plot, awesome writing and all my favorite characters in this series!

Love the cruise idea and Bermuda is on my Bucket List! So fun location, awesome characters and lots of plot create a fantastic read! Lots of special moments for our characters that made me feel warm and fuzzy.

Love this series and looking forward to the next one!
