I was having a hard week, and today was a very hard day, so I didn't read what I had planned reading... I read something quick, and that's Agatha Christie.
This is a re-read, I think it was allowed, except for the last book :-D
I had forgotten who was the murderer :-D
I think it's a pity Shaitana was killed :-D I like him
It's a pity the girl drowned.
And Ariadne Oliver :-D I like to see myself in her, even though she's a rather silly woman :-D Because she's fat and absentminded ("Did you see she had two different stockings?" :-D) And experiments with her hair. :-) And I like her Finnish detective. I have been thinking about writing his adventures :-D
I wonder what it was with the beans...

Yes Re-reads are allowed until last week.
Ketutar, you need to put that book on your read shelf as it shows you just marked it today as currently reading.
You also need to add this link to your review that it's in this series also.

As in GR it shows it is book #15 of different series.

That's exactly what I'm going to do!!

Teresa since you read MM too, you gotta check out Unhinged in Necessary Evils"
I've seen that book and series around... I'm not sure what it is that's holding me back, as I've read a lot of stories with the same themes, and I see a lot of my friends really liked it, and I liked the Elite Protection Services series, but something about it just doesn't grab me. Maybe I need to give it a try anyway.

Incredibly, I do have a #41 in series that I am up to, but do I squander this opportunity to try to get us that bonus read the whole series??

I've only read the first one in the Elite Protection series, but I didn't like it as well as Necessary Evils. There were parts IN NE that was FAF too! Book #2 has been my Favorite so far.

How it fits: Thick as Thieves 1

entertaining
I really liked the premise and execution of this story. The characters were likeable, there is an element of danger to go with the action. My only complaint, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but there was a little too much sex for the amount of plot. I actually skimmed the last scene.

Well at least it's gonna do double duty & get extra point w/ GOTM

Review: 3.5* Could have been better but I liked it & Hook best so far. I'm really getting tired of this series. I need to take a break.
Wait What? Mama is tired of Fairytales??

I just need a break. It's the MMF & some FF sprinkled in that I'm just not feeling as much. It's just not my Jam at all. Plus, there could be so much more done with their backstories & plot-wise. Am I giving up on this series?

Am I giving up on the author?

I did like the characters of Gaeton & Isabella & the Beast.

Freaking Loved the Beast!! But I also love me some Beast! Beast is always the Best!

Next Book is Little Mermaid, Alaric & Sea Witch.

I don't know if I ever would have picked up this book if I wasn't looking for a series with four books and that would have been a damned shame. This was fantastic. I mean it was kind of creepy. And Adam is a psychopath stalker who told Noah he was keeping him chained to his radiator so couldn't ever leave him... but that's romantic, right? It is for Adam!! I can't even explain how screwed up these two were but it was actually cute. Sick but cute! I just can't wait to get the chance to read about the other psycho, serial killer brothers. This is going to be great! Assassins for the greater good for the win.

Book #2 is actually my Favorite!

I Love HR. Haven't read this author before.

K. Sounds like Shannon may make it w/ NE series too.

I can't wait. Thankfully I'm in another challenge so it's barely possible to hold off.
Do the books need to be read in order to count for the bonus?

Nope. Denise answered this for the 3 or more
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
But they all need to be used for the series. I would say with this series, I would read them in order. Not sure if you were asking about the just the challenge or the series also. The series, I would say Def read in order! Book #3 you get new characters introduced.

You're killin' me here!!

I know! I'm waiting on another 3 or a 5 to read my 3.5

It's my favorite genre. If the historical romance can have some danger in it, that's even better. (I call it Historical Romantic Suspense.)

Book: The Wild Inside

How it fits: Glacier Mystery #1
Read: 02/22

3 stars
First in a new series, and new author, for me. Imagine you are Ted. Ted lost his father in a bear attack at Glacier National Park when he was a young teen. Yes, you heard me. GRIZZLY BEAR. Like, drug the poor man off and left poor Ted alone. So what do you choose as a career? A special investigator for the Department of the Interior? As in the National Parks? Yep, you guessed it. Poor Ted is haunted by his past. And this case involves death and grizzlies in Glacier.
Ted is a decent bloke and the plot was a tiny bit loose, but I stuck with it and will take on book 2. On to the next!

Book: Sir Philip's Folly
Author: M.C. Beaton
Pages: 208

How it fits: # it is the 4th book in the series
Review: This book was a little better than the 2nd and 3rd books in this series. Characters are more fleshed out and there seemed to be more depth. I disliked that one of the main characters had a mistress living there with everyone else. It just seemed sordid. There was a bit of a cliffhanger for another main character. We'll see if she gets her happily-ever-after in the next book.

I would recommend The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, then. I haven't read the entire series yet, but good fun and lots of witty banter :)

How it fits: #1 in Edwardian Murder Mysteries
I suppose the main couple is Rose and Harry, though I don't like Rose. Too dishwater and YA "strong heroine" for my taste. And Harry... I don't get him. He's a bit too fluid, always adjusting to the part he's supposed to be playing, a bit robotic.
I love Daisy, though. Beckett is a darling, too.
I'm not too fond of Marion's ideas of the upper class and Edwardian England. There is obviously social criticism, and I believe she wrote Rose and Harry deliberately dumb because they are both nobles. Also, I suppose she has her own formulas. I need to read more to see how these people fit the pattern. So far I have only read Agatha Raisin books (not all of them, just the 9 first ones)
I think Marion Chesney is a great author because even with all this criticism, I don't mind reading these books. Right now I'll only touch some books to get more ammunition against the author, and their books always make me irritated. :-D
The murder mystery part... it's really not a murder mystery. Sure, there are murders, and we get to know whodunnit and how, and all that, but it's not something... it's more a side note on the story.
It also felt a bit... fake.
-
I read all the four books in this series this week, and Rose gets slightly better, Daisy and Beckett worse, Harry... well, he wasn't as annoying as the male leads in Agatha Raisin series.
