I am fairly certain that I read someplace in the rules that books can not be started until after the roll. But I now can not find where I might have read that tidbit. 🤔

So does that mean for every series we read of at least 3 books we get a point as long as they are different series & a different series and not part of the start & complete series?
Or can this one also be used only once in the team?"
You can get one bonus point (for the whole team, during the entire game) for reading three books from the same series. You can't claim that point for the same series you're reading to get the full series bonus point.
Also for the Valentine bonus is that only once per team or is that each individual player? Does only 1 person need to read romance or all team members reading romance that day?
Same deal for all bonus points: You can only get one for the whole team, not one per player. Only one team member needs to fulfill the requirements to earn that bonus point for the team. So in this case: One team member reading a romance that week will get your team the bonus point, other team members also reading romance books won't get you additional points.

It's in the FAQ section, post #5 in the How to Play, etc. thread:
★ Books must be started after your team has rolled.

The location alternates always refer to setting, so it has to be at least partially set there.
(Apologies for the late reply, btw, apparently notifications are messed up again...)

There appears to be some confusion going around this round regarding when teams can roll.
Rolling happens on FRIDAY, Central Time. Teams CANNOT roll before then - midnight at the earliest, even if all reviews were posted well before then.

Looks like you had pretty much sorted that out in your thread already - yes, it works as long as the whole book is read and each story reviewed. :)

Yes..but then my neurotic side took over and kept whispering, " But what if you're wrong."

"The free pass will allow a team to roll if they are missing a review(s) before the cutoff."
How do you use the free pass? Do we have let you know via pm or in the thread? Attach it to the person name that is missing the review when you post the completion thread?
Mention that you're using the free pass when you post your new roll in the Post Your Spot thread. Put "free pass" next to the name of the player in question where you'd usually put their review or a link to their review in the team completion post.

Her query: "I don't understand the read "three books in a series." Does that mean you read the three series books for the one week, or three books in a series within the whole competition? Also, it doesn't say if the three books have to be consecutive. I thought I might like to give this bonus a try..."

"The list of alternatives seems to exclude "articles" in choosing an alternative such as #39. Is that so you don't have to count them in order to create, e.g. a two-word title, or an alphabet selection, or can you count it if you need it? I would like to choose The Third Option..."
My interpretation was that "the" cannot be part of the title at all. Will you please let us know?
Edited to add: Would you kindly visit our group thread, instead? There's a follow-up to the above, and I'd love it if you could read it and then give us the definitive word to the topic. It'd be greatly appreciated.
Carry on with the remaining five players.
As a bit of good news: Since Ketutar chose to drop out before you rolled for the new week, you don't need to use the free pass. ;)

I'm really sorry- things have been a mess IRL and I'm likely to drag my team down till I have a little more grip on my sanity. Can I withdraw from the challenge, please? Also, I'm not sure if this is possible - but could you refund the free pass used by my team to cover for me? I lost track of time and didn't check in with them at all, so I'd like it if they didn't have to pay the penalty for my carelessness.
Sounds like things have been pretty tough... :( Hopefully the mess will sort itself out soon! *hugs*
Of course you can drop out, no worries.
Refunding the free pass won't be an option in this case though - unlike with team 5 above, where the player indicated they wished to drop out before the team rolled (and well before deadline), you were officially part of the team when they rolled, so using the free pass was necessary.

Please note, Daylight Saving Time started in the US today. As deadlines are based on US Central Time, this means the deadline may have shifted for players outside the US.

Does this work for #5 in series? I never know with 2 series mentioned which applies.

Its #1 in The Billionaires of Barefoot Beach & #5 in Barefoot Bay Universe

Is the shoulder considered part of the arm or would it fall under other body part?
I assume the trunk also falls under "other body part"

If it's listed as belonging to two series, you can use either number.

Covered in clothes is fine.

As long as it's not just the shoulder and some of the rest of the arm is visible, it works.
I assume the trunk also falls under "other body part"
Generally, yes. Though I'd accept the second of your examples there as the arm/hands are clearly the focus and rest is fairly obscured.

When you go past 90. So if you're on spot 90 this week, you can claim (and use) it on next week's roll.
Gah, sorry, complete slipped my mind that I was meaning to do that. I've been home sick with covid this past week so I haven't been at my best.
You know what? I declare #10 works. We'll just go with that. ;)

Ok, thanks
Sorry to hear you have covid, hope you do not get any of the lingering issues.

Yeah, it's not been a fun week (and my boyfriend came down with it a couple of days after me, so I went straight from feeling extremely terrible to feeling fairly terrible and playing nurse for someone feeling worse than me... fun times!), but getting better. Could have been a lot worse.

With no less than five (!!) teams reaching spots above 100 on this roll, we've had a tight race to the finish.
Congratulations to the winners of this round: Team 12 "Librarians of the Galaxy" were first to finish all their books for a winning spot!
Please also give a high 5 to Team 5 "High Five" - the second team to finish their reads for a winning spot, they've earned the silver medal, so to speak. (Nope, sorry, no actual silver medals available... but it's the thought that counts, right? :P)
This officially concludes the game.
However, any teams (full or partial) who would like to keep going, either just to finish out the current roll or all the way to the finish line, are welcome to do so.
(For example, 3 out of 4 players on my SSS team have voted to continue even though the winner has been decided.)
If you choose to do so, I'll be around to answer questions but will otherwise leave it to teams to administer themselves. :)
Thank you all for another great round of SS ~ Super Series!

NOTE:
✸ Each point can only be earned once per team.
✸ The series-specific bonus points (3 or more books/ starting and finishing a series) must be two different series...."
I think your answer was in your question. Earned ONCE per team.
