Yes, I do, but that's no fun :-D
I can always fall back on Agatha Christie or Terry Pratchett if it looks like..."
Since we rolled on Jan 20th, your AC book Murder on the Links (Hercule Poirot, #2) works if you run outta time you can just C&P that review too.

Date Read: 27/1/2022
How it Fits: #8 in the Agatha Raisin series
Rating: 4
Pages: 196
Review: Oh, dear!
Poor Agatha! :-D
This book was better because James wasn't in it much :-D I really hate that twat!
But Charles was in it... and even though he's an a-hole, too, at least he's an "honest a-hole", meaning, he knows very well he's an a-hole. And I believe he sincerely likes Agatha, even though he cannot fight his spots, and treats her badly. I like him.
I think I still have an hour left to the deadline? I hope I do...
So sorry about being a pain in the butt. Next week better :-D

✸ One point can be earned for starting and finishing a series. There must be at least 4 books in that series. Series + spin-off totalling ≥4 books also counts. For series with >9 books, point will be awarded for reading books 1-9. For still ongoing series, all books published to date (OR up to #9 in longer series) must be read.~ No re-reads on this one.
I have 2 series I'm thinking about. 1 series has 7 books (IF we are still reading toward mid-late April) and 1 series has 6 books...
Had anybody else decided to go for this bonus? If so, I'll gladly do the 3 books in a series bonus. That's super easy for me. Which the start & finish a series seems daunting & I'd have to get extremely lucky on the last couple. Ya know...

For the three books in a series - do they have to all be read in the week where one qualifies? Or do you need to get all three qualified in the course of the game?

Whoop whoop. I was hoping it was #15 cause that is where I'm at in my Christine Feehan Ghostwalker Series.

Yes. That was what I thought was gonna be the hard part.

That is my hard part too but I do have 2 series I haven't started yet.

Glacier Park series (4 books)

Mistress of the Art of Death (5 books)

Well, shoot. I can get them all, so that doesn't narrow it down!

That's awesome! That's is why I decided on those 2 series other than 4 series that I want to read.
I'm excited to be a part of the team. I live in Arizona (beautiful weather right now), and I enjoy Regency era stories and romantic suspense books. I like middle grade books, as well.
How can I help? Which bonus point tasks haven't been claimed?

Yikes!
Every summer I decide that I'm definitely moving away from Arizona. And every winter I decide there's no better place to live.

Welcome Lanelle! The only bonus we have gotten is the 2 for 1. Michelle & I were talking over the series bonuses earlier today. I think it might be great for all 3 of us to go for that incase somebody else doesn't make it or one of our books that hasn't been called matches the alternative. But anything you want to do feel free!

Reposting this week's roll for Lanelle...

Not if you didn't read them as part of the challenge, I'm afraid. That's some impressive marathon reading there, though! :D

It took a while, but I finally found a series that I might be able to complete for the "starting and finishing a series" bonus point. I'm not thrilled with it though. I'll give it a shot.
In the meantime, I'll shoot for the "never picking a book from the alternate lists" bonus point.

I am going to read my #14 because I've been wanting to get to it, then I will start my new series on our next roll with a 1.

Review: Another winner!
I’m so, so glad to get another story with these characters. Undercover Dex was hot and even though the bad guys were, yet again, unconscionable monsters, Dex, Sloane, and their team were up to the task. There are bumps in the road and I was afraid of some relationship drama, but they stood together, strong! I can’t wait for the rest of the series!!

Book: Lady Fortescue Steps Out by Marion Chesney

Fits: Book 1 in the Poor Relations series
Completed: 1/29/22

Review: It's typical of most first books in a series. It introduces was too many characters, and the majority of the beginning is spent with background information. The author didn't romanticize the Regency era like a lot of authors do. She talked about poor cleanliness and low morals. It was interesting, but nothing special.

Beau and the Beast by Kay Simone
Pages: 520
Qualification: Standalone
Read: 1/29/22

This was a cute retelling of Beauty and the Beast with an unexpected twist to the ending. I enjoyed it a whole lot but it definitely could have been edited down a bit. This was a long one, not boring but still loooong. We did get us some beastly sexy scenes which were interesting and can I say, hot? Just me? Anyways, fun story and an interesting take on the old fairy tale.

That's awesome. I only have one book that's a 500+ pages

What about ya'll? What #s do you have most of?

I have a couple of 13's that will have to wait now, and a 10, 16, 17. But mainly 1-6, and a couple of 8's and 9's.

Unfortunately, I screwed up the first week and tried to use 1 book for 2 challenges and blew the "no using the alternate" bonus.

Yes Shannon that's the one. I think if whoever has books to use could go for that one, then hopefully at least one person it will work out for.
That series would work

I think Lanelle is gonna shoot for that one. See Msg #79

Week #2
Spot: #14
Book: Desperate Measures 3.5* ✔️ 2/2/22
Pages: 230 Pgs
Fits: Wicked Villains Series #1
Bonus: No
Review:
This was a start of a new series for me. I love Fairytales. Really Love Them. In this series, Katee Roberts has the fairy tales switched up to where the Villan is the Hero & the hero is actually the villain. This one was Jasmine and Jafar. I really liked Jafar. Jasmine was more meh for me. I did not like Meg. Unfortunately Hades and Meg are next . I'm really excited about Hades tho.
