Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments The seventh book in Gregg Andrew Hurwitz's Orphan X series, Dark Horse is a tad too heavy on the violence scale for me, but other than that, don your disbelief suspenders and enjoy the ride. 4★s

Carolyn | 9837 comments My review of the audiobook In the Cold Dark Ground (Logan McRae, #10) by Stuart MacBride In the Cold Dark Ground by Stuart MacBride #10 in his Logan MacRae series, superbly narrated by Steve Worsley Steve Worsley. Very gritty and darkly humorous, this is one of my favourite crime series.

Carolyn | 9837 comments Every Shade of Happy by Phyllida Shrimpton Every Shade of Happy by Phyllida Shrimpton is a lovely intergenerational story featuring a grumpy old man, his estranged daughter and his unhappy granddaughter. Funny, sweet and very touching.
I think fans of Catherine Ryan Hyde will enjoy this (still available for request on NG)!

Sarah | 1543 comments Here's my review of musician Dave Grohl (Nirvana, the Foo Fighters)'s memoir, The Storyteller. I "read" via a combination of the hardcover edition and the audiobook, narrated by the author. I wouldn't describe myself as a mega-fan of his music, but found this a really entertaining read.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Even though Scott Brick does tend to over-dramatise some ordinary moments, that can be forgiven when the rest of his narration of Dark Horse by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz is so enjoyable. 4★s

Sarah | 1543 comments For a little light relief, here's my review of Only in California: Weird and Wonderful Facts About The Golden State by Heather Alexander, a beautifully illustrated non-fiction title aimed at elementary and middle-grade readers (but heaps of fun for adults, too!).

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Billed as a teen/YA novel, Missing Presumed Missing by British author Paul Harris really feels more like a pre-teen/middle-grade story. The promising premise is poorly realised resulting in a disappointing read. 2.5★s
