It's really good, I hope you all will enjoy it as much as I did.
Alissa wrote: "its all coming together lol =) i love buddy reads"I think we need special threads for all of the buddy reads we have going on. :-)
Ioana wrote: "It's really good, I hope you all will enjoy it as much as I did."I'm pretty sure you're the reason it got added to our buddy reads list. :-)
Lea wrote: "I'm pretty sure you're the reason it got added to our buddy reads list. :-)"Ohh, I can feel the pressure building up. That's why I don't like recommending books, what if you don't like it?
Ioana wrote: "Ohh, I can feel the pressure building up. That's why I don't like recommending books, what if you don't like it?"LOL, then we don't like it? No pressure. I mean, our time is valuable, but not that valuable. And everyone likes different books. Inevitably, you will probably pick some books we love and other books we don't get, but overall, reading a book we don't get is not the end of the world. Keep on recommending!
I would love to join you ladies for January’s book - Small Mercies and March’s book - Parable of the Sower
Linda wrote: "I would love to join you ladies for January’s book - Small Mercies and March’s book - Parable of the Sower"That sounds great, Linda! I'm so happy to have you join us!

I will pick Ring Shout for December, if Alissa doesn't pick it for November. :-)
I have you down for The Killer Inside Me, Alias Grace, Crossing to Safety and Prophet's Prey: My Seven-Year Investigation into Warren Jeffs and the Fundamentalist Church of Latter-Day Saints.
I also have Lindsey down for The Pecan Man.
I'm trying not to make all my selections too early, because I have to be in the mood to read the book, but seems like we should be able to get to quite a bit of those with my/our 2025 selections.
I always love reading with you!

I will pick Ring Shout to my December list since I saw this lol
maybe we can do Prophet's Prey: My Seven-Year Investigation into Warren Jeffs and the Fundamentalist Church of Latter-Day Saints since it seems the non fiction books are always good for discussion?
Alissa wrote: "maybe we can do Prophet's Prey: My Seven-Year Investigation into Warren Jeffs and the Fundamentalist Church of Latter-Day Saints since it seems the non fiction books are always good for discussion?"Sure, let me know when. The library wait list is short, less than a month...

Ioana wrote: "I'll join you in Nov and Dec, and I'm also interested in #2 and #8. Can't wait to see the 2025 list."Yay! I'm so glad you'll be able to join us.
Are you no longer interested in #1, or have you read it already? I had you down for that one also.
I will say this about 2025. Since the books we've selected for the remainder of 2024 include three crazy thrillers, a nonfiction about an insane cult, and a horror book, my February pick will be fluffy and possibly Valentine's Day adjacent. And Alissa was thinking of a short classic for January. We'll see. But then, we'll get back to business. :-)
Lea wrote: "Are you no longer interested in #1, or have you read it already? I had you down for that one also."Oh, I've missed that. Interested in that one too. 2025 will be interesting :-)

Wonderful! Just keeping my spreadsheet updated. Or trying to. :-)
My IRL book club is reading The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales in October, so Alissa and I are starting to read that book. I will make a thread for it, if anyone else has any interest, but I think that was a book that nobody else expressed interest in reading. :-)We selected Framed: Astonishing True Stories of Wrongful Convictions by John Grisham to complete our list. :-)
I've read The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales some years ago. It was ok, but I expected more.Definitely interested in Framed.

I was disappointed with The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales. It definitely felt dated to me. I think Alissa abandoned reading it, so we didn't make a thread for it.
I've got you down for Framed. Alissa and I are going to pick our first four books of 2024 soon.
We started this monthly buddy read in November 2021, and here we all are...three years later...with so many good books under our belts. We aren't done yet. Here's a reminder of the books that we are planning to read in 2024.
