Monaghan
This flying pig was built to recalls a local legend of the 6th century; attempts by Saint Maeldoid to build a monastery at Concra were thwarted when a black pig kept carrying the stones to another site on the far side of Lough Muckno. Eventually the saint gave up and built his monastery on this new site, now the center of Monaghan town.

This one is on my doorstep! It is in a nature reserve on reclaimed bog land. Not so long ago my ancestors cut turf here to burn in their fireplaces now has re-wilded and is popular with walkers and cyclists with lakeside routes from one to thirty kilometres.

SIDE TRIP: Phill Lynott statue, outside Bruxelles Pub, Dublin
Location: This Victorian Public House is steeped in rock history. Originally named Mooneys, the name was changed to Bruxelles, the name was changed in 1973 to mark Ireland joining the European Economic Community (EEC). This pub, located at 8 Harry St., counted the members of Thin Lizzy among its regulars Read book 8 on your TBR.
About: Phil Lynott was a guitarist and vocalist in Thin Lizzy. They had many hits but my personal favourite has always been Dancing in the Moonlight. Read a book with DANCING or MOONLIGHT in the title.

Nice fast start! I loved this book, especially the audio narration Tom Hanks was just perfect for it!
I've got that Christmas task too - good idea to get done now, while it's still feels like it's 'the season' !
