Catsalive | 182 comments I haven't participated in Dewey's 24h before: I'm going to try it out for 23/10. I'm not absolutely sure how it all works but have just checked & my start time is 11pm on Saturday night (AEDST), which gave me a laugh 😄

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments Welcome Cat! There’s not really one way to do this readathon. One person tries to read for the full 24 hours (I myself need my sleep, so I set my alarm and try to sleep for 6 hours), the other mostly spends time interacting with fellow readathoners. The one tracks pages and time read, the other doesn’t. I’ve been participating for a couple of years now and I always end with a note to myself on what I want to do differently next time lol
The most important thing is to have fun!

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments It all depends on your goals. My goal never is to reach 24 hours of reading. I’m going for 17-18 hours and 600-700 pages. It’s a challenge nonetheless but I know I can do it.

message 29: by Catsalive (new)

Catsalive | 182 comments As expected, the first half has been a write-off, & most of the day has been too busy to get much reading done as an old friend is in town for a couple of days before heading off overseas. Oh, well! Next time.

message 30: by Catsalive (new)

Catsalive | 182 comments I hope to do better during the Reverse RAT. I think I'll get much more done when starting on Saturday morning instead of Sat. bedtime. I have more time on Saturday than Sunday for reading.

message 31: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments Yeah, I think I would skip the first hours too. 10pm is not a great time to start a readathon.
For me it’s the other way around, the reverse readathon starts at 2am so the first hours I miss and I never manage to stay awake until the end.
See you in August hopefully!
