and read the other in the series they are set in the Same location would that be enough?

I read book 1 Captive Prince for the task -- the precis mentions the kingdoms of Akeilos and Vere (Veretian court)

I'd like to read book 2 as well -- Captive Prince: Volume Two

I can't find any specific setting info on the book's page, tags, lists...etc. Can I use book 1 as proof of setting for book 2? The precis for book 2 does state: "With their countries on the brink of war, Damen and his new master, Prince Laurent,..." and these two characters along with their countries are mentioned in the precis for book 1

No, books have to qualify on their own. You can't use the setting or whatever of another book in the series to show where the current book is set.
