I agree Harry had every right to tell his story and the 'palace' is so insular and entitled that they're way out of touch with modern times. I found the book very compelling.

In this book - which is darkly funny - Pulitzer Prize winner Whitehead immerses us in the ambiance of Harlem in the 1970s. The book revolves around Ray Carney, a furniture store owner and fencer of stolen goods who strives to be upwardly mobile.

I read the first Ray Carney story and it was ok, didn't blow me away. I've got a couple of others to try. Glad you liked this. I'll have to check it out.
