KOMET | 870 comments I finished reading yesterday "The Day the Red Baron Died: A Full Account of the Death of Baron Manfred von Richthofen, April 21, 1918" by Dale Titler, which was published in 1970.

The Day the Red Baron Died A Full Account of the Death of Baron Manfred von Richthofen, April 21, 1918 by Dale Titler

This book looked into the controversy surrounding the shoot down and death of World War I's top fighter ace, Rittmeister (Captain) Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen over the Somme River on April 21, 1918.

For decades, there has been a controversy as to whether von Richthofen was downed by ground fire or the guns of Sopwith Camel pilot Roy Brown of 209 Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) who managed to making a fleeting, firing pass on von Richthofen's red Fokker Triplane fighter as von Richthofen was intent on downing Brown's squadron mate (Wilfred May), whose plane Richthofen was firing several, well-aimed shots at in an attempt to shoot it down.

KOMET | 870 comments A short time ago, I finished reading "Summer at Tiffany" by Marjorie Hart.

Summer at Tiffany by Marjorie Hart

Summer at Tiffany is a story of Marjorie Hart's reminiscences of the summer of 1945, when she and her best friend and fellow Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority sister from the University of Iowa (Martha "Marty" Garrett) traveled to New York City in search of summer jobs and ended up working at Tiffany's and sharing an apartment in the heart of Manhattan.

I LOVED THIS BOOK.
