In remembrance of Katrisa's best friend who passed this past year, read two books from two different options that celebrate their 27 years of friendship.
I also want to claim a Golden Oldies Ticket for Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey that was first published 1912. according to the MPG book description.
Book 1 Option 1 Road Trip
To celebrate the two besties' first road trip from their home in San Diego CA to Salt Lake City Utah when they were 18 years old, read a book set at least 50% in California, Arizona, Nevada or Utah.
I chose Utah since I lived there for several years and am a proud graduate of the University of Utah (Go Utes!) and read Riders Of The Purple Sage by Zane Grey.
Riders of the Purple Sage
I don't read many Westerns. It is just not my thing. But when looking for books set in Utah I found this book. It was pretty good. It has the usual wesstern elements with cowboys, cattle rustlers, fantastic descriptive writing of the area and even some romance. Lots of melodrama! (written in 1912)
Book 2: Option 3 Sarah's Favorite Books
Sarah's favorite books were mysteries with a female detective, cop, pr detective, or food memoirs. Sounds good to me.
To share in Sarah's favorite books read a book with an MPG of Mystery, Thriller and with a main character who is a police officer, cop, detective pr private eye. The person must be a professional. No amateur sleuths.
I read Above Suspicion: by Lynda LaPlant Anna Travis #1
Above Suspicion
In the novel Anna Travis is a rookie detective on her first case.
I have never read anything by this author and have no idea why because I watched Prime Suspect on PBS and liked it. This series promises to be another good one and Scribd has a lot of the books in the series.
