Kalil looked at Luna. "Why'd you run so far?" he asked. "Is something wrong?" Aurora had said she ran about 40 miles. That didn't seem like a run someone would take for the fun of it.

Luna pulled her hood down a little bit “I had to run because I couldn’t stay at the warehouse. It’s too creepy.” Luna said and shivered. Aurora flicked her tail.
"Are you cold?" Kalil asked Luna. "Here." He took off his coat jacket, handing it to Luna. He hadn't realized his sleeves had come up, exposing the dozens of scars on his arms.
Luna shook her head “No. Um. Why do you have scars on your arms?” Luna asked. Aurora looked at the scars.
Kalil closed his eyes, mentally berating himself for being so careless. He lowered his sleeves quickly. "I uh...." Kalil began. He took a deep breath, staring at the trunk of the tree nearest them. "My father wasn't a good man," he told Luna, not looking at her.
Luna blinked at him “I understand that. My father wasn’t very kind either.” Luna said. She pulled off her hood, revealing scars on her cheeks and hands.
Kalil glanced at her scars. "What happened?" he asked, concerned. He hated finding out about other people who had been harmed by their families as well. It caused pain to flare through his heart. Why couldn't every single family care for their children?
Luna glanced at her scars “My father treated me badly because of how I was cursed to be a half cat. He whipped me every time I got near him.” Luna said. Her purple tail lashed angrily.
"I'm so sorry," Kalil said. "My father treated me horribly because he thought I was a consolation prize for my stillborn brother's death. A replacement child, if you will. I'm like my mother. Sensitive, empathetic, and loyal. He hated me. Tortured me every time I did something wrong. Stabbed me, beat me, occasionally he even whipped me, though his preferred weapon of choice was a sword. Poisoned me a couple times." He shrugged. "Survived it all." He looked at Luna, smiling. "And so did you."
Luna nodded. Her moon barrette glinted in the light as she moved. The moon barrette was the only thing rooting her to the Earth.

"That's a cute barrette," Amira said, walking over to make sure her brother was okay. She knew he didn't like talking about his past. She was surprised he talked about it so readily. He must've wanted to make Luna feel as if she wasn't alone, in case she felt as if she was. "Where did you get it?" she asked.
Luna touched the barrette "Oh. I got it from one of my friends. Her name's Evergreen Delacruz. She's a bounty hunter." Luna said. Her tail twitched at this.
Amira pursed her lips. "A bounty hunter?" she asked. She glanced at Kalil. "Bounty hunters still exist?"Kalil looked at his sister. "If assassins still exist, bounty hunters still exist, Mira."
Luna blinked "Yes. Me, Aurora, Dove and Evergreen are part of a group called Death Row." Luna said. Aurora nodded at that.
"What kind of bounty hunters?" Kalil asked. His father had hired a few bounty hunters in the past, though he had forgotten about them. Amira sat beside her brother.
Luna smacked her tail on the ground “The ones who can kill a person with silence.” Luna said. Aurora flattened her ears down.
Well that's pleasant, Kalil thought, suddenly feeling the slightest bit anxious. Amira watched Luna. "How long have you been a bounty hunter?" she asked. "I don't mean to offend you or anything, but you seem a bit young."
Luna gave her a look “I am not a bounty hunter. I am just the scout.” Luna growled. Aurora hissed warningly at Amira.
Kalil narrowed his eyes at Aurora. He put his arm out protectively toward his sister, knowing she wouldn't take kindly to being hissed at. As if on cue, Amira stared at Aurora. "What did I do to you?" she asked, heated. "All I did was ask a question."
Luna stood up “Apparently, I can’t go anywhere without being asked questions if I’m a bounty hunter or not. I am nine years old and the LAST thing I need right now is people I barely know poking into my past. So word to the wise, don’t talk to two girls who are part of an assassin group. ” Luna snarled. Aurora stood up as well, lashing her tail.
"Sorry about that," Kalil said. "My sister can be a bit too curious sometimes.""I do not," Amira snapped. She looked at Aurora. "And for the record, I don't appreciate being hissed at."
Kalil looked at his sister, silently imploring her to shut up. She was always stubborn and loved to talk. Occasionally, it got on his nerves. The last thing he wanted was a fight, so he tried to change the topic.
"So what now?" he asked Aurora.

Aurora growled and stomped away. Luna flicked her ears back “Apparently, Aurora doesn’t know yet. She needs to decide.” Luna said.

Julien arrived here at the balcony. Usually first thing he would do if were in a party is go to the food section, but he wasn't really hungry. He saw few people outside conversing, but he had made sure not to interact with them.
Luna looked up and saw the man. She waved cheerfully at him. Her tail smacked on the ground.
Julien saw the little girl wave at him but he didn't wave back, he just looked at her for a second then away.
Luna made a face and stood up. Before anyone could blink, she ran straight to Julien. She climbed up the railing and appeared in front of him.
Julien slightly widened his eyes. This one was interesting. It seems that he offended her but he didn't care too much. He's wasn't the social guy... since he spent almost a decade alone, talking to people was something that was beginning to be foreign to him. Though, Ior, Some how saved him.
Luna swished her tail “Hi!” Luna chirped. She seemed sweet and cute.
Amira pursed her lips, watching as both Aurora and Luna walked away.Kalil looked over at the man who had seemed to appear out of nowhere. Luna was speaking to him. Kalil stared at him, observing him. He looked...sketchy, and maybe even the slightest bit dangerous. He looked away quickly, making sure to not stare at him too long. He didn't want to draw attention to himself.
Julien narrowed his eyes slightly. What was up with her? This girl literally was forcing his attention towards her. It's was jarring."What is it?" He said in a very aggressive tone yet not rude.
Luna smiled sweetly “Nothing much. I’m Luna Marila, what’s your name?” Luna asked, tilting her head. As a cat, she had certain perks to it.
She's already annoying. Julian thought to himself. If she wasn't gonna leave him alone, then he'll just gotta play along. He sighed and said, "Zeil," he said,
Luna stared at him, the ghost of a frown whisking on her face. He’s lying...
(( im pretty sure she's seen him before... but that's on you.))Julien looked at her waiting for another bubbly response. He hoped that conversation would be over soon.
Luna blinked and stared hard enough to memorize his face, probably.
"What?" Julien said, "Why are you lookin' at me like that?" This girl was being strange and he wasn't liking it.
"If you don't wanna talk, then leave me alone, please." Julien said, as he began to turn away from Luna
“You look familiar.” Luna said, still staring at him
Julien stopped and looked back and raised an eyebrow."Familiar? How?" He asked, though not really wanting an answer. They probably passed each other in a crowded area and maybe thats why she recognized him. But even if it was true, why is he the only one she recognized? Clearly he must've forgot about her but, this was something he was not going to waste time thinking about.
Luna said nothing. She was sorting through her memories.
Julien shook his head. This girl was annoying and he didn't want to deal with her much longer. He turned to walk back inside the Ballroom.
Annie Blair walked straight into him and stumbled back “Eek!” Annie yelped.
Kalil observed Luna, Aurora, and a new girl who had bumped into the guy who had looked as if he was from the wrong side of the tracks. He narrowed his eyes, suspicious of everyone around him who wasn't Izara or Amira. Aurora and Luna had seemed upset, and both the guy and the girl were new, so he wasn't exactly calm.
