What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?

I've only beaten the one lord so far but was making good headway through the bloodborne-esque area on the way to the 2nd. It's going to take me a long time to get through this one, which is great as I'm in no hurry.
And I see the first Dying Light game has got a next gen upgrade. Might go back and give it another go. Had a blast playing through DL2 but could never get into the first game, always ended up playing Dead Island instead.

Beat the second main boss and a few other trophy giving bosses last night, so was feeling fairly confident....so of course after that pretty much everywhere I went I got my ass kicked. Not completely sure where I'm supposed to be going next (just a rough direction), but I'm more than happy getting lost (and beaten) for the foreseeable future

Depends what you are in the mood for. Dying Light 2 is a blast if you don't take it too seriously. Mindless fun for the most part. Elden Ring - Souls type games I have to be in the right frame of mind to get properly stuck into. Elden Ring is probably slightly easier to get into as you've got the exploration aspect.

Just realize Elden Ring is going to be a long-term project. Even Deckard has barely cracked the surface at 60hrs! I just discovered another boss yesterday by walking around an area right near the beginning of the game at night. The content is so incredibly dense, and I've still only even unlocked half the map...
What level are you Deck?

And half my 60 hours is probably laughing at the nonsense people have left written on the ground. Some of it's pretty creative. And I still fall for the old "hidden path ahead" every time

I'm also only level 53, I probably should focus on grinding for a while. Flail + magic has been treating me well.

The story is interesting to me but there's so much other checklist shit and they added all these extra types of weapons and combat things which just make it unnecessarily bloated and confusing.
I'm playing on normal difficulty and even then the enemies hit way too hard and move way too fast. Every big fight is a war of attrition.
Sounds pretty negative but I do like the game. I like Aloy. I like a lot of the new characters. The world is absolutely beautiful. Think maybe I just want to play Elden Ring and wish the 2 games didn't come out so close together.
I got a new PSVR game too which I really need to start as I'm sure it will only take a few hours to complete and has great reviews.
Ron, you just reminded me i havent touched the PSVR for months now.
I have plenty of games but the only one i played from start to finish was Truth & Blood.
I love it but i can never find the right mindset to actually play it. :(

Finally discovered a blacksmith that sells upgrade materials last night. I'm up to a +14 flail.
Hi guys
Feeling a bit sick today.
Not sure if its the bug or a normal flu but i feel like i should be at home...playing Greedfall.
Still not decided what to haw for my birthday.
Buying both Elden Ring and DL 2 is a massive amount for just two games.

Morning all. Completed the Cyberpunk campaign over the weekend. I enjoyed it. It's a highly polished campaign with some semi-tricky boss fights. The ending dragged out a little after the story wrapped up. The star of the game though is Night City. Really well done bladerunner type world. However, the game as a whole didn't blow me away - for me it was on a par with a lot of other openworld games but not up there with the very best (as in, RDR2, GTA5). The RPG side though was well done. I never felt really pulled into the world though but perhaps that's down to me as I mainly focussed on the campaign. The shooting mechanics were a little flaky too. Overall very good and 8/10 on the r-score-o-meter. I might jump back in for some side quests. I think next I'm taking some time off another campaign game and instead play some more Forza Horizon 5 and Battlefield 2042. Then I'll probably play Alan Wake remastered.
Well done Rob.
Its one of the games i intend to play very soon.
I myself am 52 hrs into Greedfall.
Im having a good time but the game really wants to make the player waste time by going around the map all the time. Go here, talk to this guy, then go to the other side of the world, talk to another guy, then go back and talk again to the first guy...jeeesus.....
This woulnd be a problem if i had an ssd disk but on a regular drive it can get really tiresome.
Bit besides this, i like it quite a bit.

Happy birthday Glass. I hope your new advanced age doesn't contribute to you dying a lot in Elden Ring ;-).

Now there is an idea. I've not tried the minimum purchase amount for my presents - I just ask for a game. Saying that she tries the same on me with the minimum purchase amount lol.

Its actually even better then a specific game.
with 50 or 100 eur, if you find a good sale, you can easily haw 3 or 4 goods games at the same time.

Yea I'll have to see how that would work out for me. If i ask for a game that cost £70 she usually grumbles a bit so the gift card may make her grumble more.

I have a good excuse that i always use.
Since i have two Pro´s i always say that i need to buy the game digitally so that i dont have to keep taking the disk out when i want to play on the other console.
So...gift cards are a must.
So far it has worked nicely. lol

I'm wandering through Kingdoms of Amalur and have to say I'm quite enjoying it. Ignoring most of the RPG stuff tho, cos I'm not really interested in getting enough shards and skills to poke a jewel in my sword ...

Thanks AG.
You´re replaying Amalur?
Awesome. I have so many great memories from that game.
I only stopped playing once i reached the level cap. I still had one DLC to play but i thought it was going to be pointless as i coulndt level up anymore.

I have great memories of Amalur too. Loved the art and color palette in that game. Enjoy!

It was a great game and it reminded me of Morrowind for some reason.

Tell me about it.
You´ll love it for sure.
I finished that game with 160 hrs. That´s how much i enjoyed it.

Started another new game in Elden Ring and found a few other things I'd somehow missed previously. I like the way they've updated the map to include NPCs, there was a few who'd asked me to do stuff that I'd forgotten to go back to. Made a good dent in the PS4 version of Grid Legends too, so had a decent long gaming weekend.

And speaking of Friday...I think it'll have to be one or the other because my game collection is in danger of reaching critical mass - Tiny Tina's Wonderland or Ghostwire Tokyo. Leaning towards Ghostwire Tokyo, simply because it's more of an unknown quantity. I'll probably pick up Tina sooner rather than later as I'm pretty sure I'll get my money's worth but think I'd rather take a gamble on Ghostwire

Also, the platinum is unobtainable unless you are both an expert level Rock Band drummer and lucky enough for your move controllers to track your movements well enough to register the hits where and when required. After 5 tries I felt like I'd been to the gym for 5 hours.
Morning all
Cant wait to finish Greedfall.
Its not a bad game at all. Its actually a pretty interesting rpg but its draggin at this point.
Im 62 hrs into and i can say that at least 10 hrs must have been spent going back and forth all over the map.
I really want to get over with cause i want to play something else.
Its way to long for what the game has to offer.
As for PSVR...i have a difficult relation with it.
I love how stupidly immersive it is but i never find myself in the right mindset to actually play it.
I have it in my gaming room which i only go on the weekends at night, i usually smoke one of "those" while listening to some music. Then play a Fifa match and end up feeling so sleepy that all i want is to go to bed.
The action of having to turn the thing on and get so immersed in a game always defeats me when all i want is to relax cause all games become mentally very demanding, imo.

I know lots of people that have been getting into VR because the Oculus Quest was so affordable. Invariably, people are super excited about it for a month or two, and then it gathers dust somewhere. A very small percentage stick with it for the workout some games offer. It makes sense to me that the experience is so involved, it can be difficult to want to dedicate time and attention to it.
Over 100hrs of Elden Ring in, portions of the map remain locked and I still have most of the known "major" bosses left to fight. I spent a lot of weekend in a capitol city zone. This place is so huge it makes the first major legacy dungeon Stormveil Castle look like a playhouse. Anyway, I missed the great outdoors, so I bounced around a bit. Took a left at one path where I previously went straight: found multiple ruins, caves, overworld bosses, and what appears to be a rear path to a place I haven't been able to to make it to yet. I think I might still have a month left at this point. Not bored in the least.
Oh, I finally scored an X-box Series X. It was a long wait. I got it for retail price without having to join a club or buy an expensive bundle with stuff I didn't need/want though.

Will probably get stuck back into Elden Ring now. Re-beat Godrick last night with my current character and I'm pretty convinced I've fully explored Stormveil from rooftops to underground caves, so think I'll be wandering about for a while before heading towards Rennala.
Well done on the ping Deck.
Although i have a ton of games i want to play i currently have dat itch for Death Stranding (which im sure it will disapear by the time i finish Greefall).
I need to get out of my gaming confort zone and play something diferent.

I literally fell asleep while playing Greedfall last night.
I was a bit tired and started a quest that made speak to a person which told me to go speak to another, which in turn told me to go speak with another two and i fell asleep during a very long monologue. Lol.
Also, since im very imature, i told my 6 year old daughter to say "Dying Light 2" in a song so she keeps singing it all day to her mom.
Maybe i get lucky and she haws it for me on my birthday. :P
