Hope you enjoy the Series X Error.
Forza Horizon 5 got a 6/10 from me. Some of the jumps would wreck your suspension, giving me skirts and dresses every five minutes (I've zero interest in the avatars to begin with let alone, having them cross-dress), pointless boring side stories....I think I've said it before - it's become too much of an avatar fashion show when the emphasis should be on the cars. I could ignore that but the driving's gone full on arcade, borderline Need for Speed bad. I'd be interested if they went back and did another in the Motorsport series but FH is dead to me (maybe a slight exaggeration ;) ). It's just becoming less and less to my taste when it comes to driving games.Played an hour of Ghostwire Tokyo and reasonably impressed. Look stunning at times but I'm not completely convinced by the combat so far (though that might change as I get used to it and get more skills). Starts off mildly creepy and fairly interesting, so looking forward to getting stuck in...if I can tear myself away from Elden Ring again

I’m interested in Ghostwire. Is it a timed exclusive? I’ve watched a few game play vids and the world and creepiness looks great. Not convinced by the combat - looks possibly a bit monotonous but would be good to hear your thoughts.
Yeah Ghostwire is timed exclusive for PS5 & PC for a year as far as I know.I've only fought a few enemies so far and although they weren't difficult at all, I was thinking I might switch to easy difficulty to stop it from eventually becoming a chore (unless it unbalances things too much). But overall, the hour or so I played, it was fairly promising
Ghostwire has my attention as well. I read somewhere that it has some connection to Evil Within somehow, which was mostly great. If they can create something half as creepy as that game it will be worth playing.Leaving work early today because I need to accept delivery of my Series X in person. I guess I can pick up Control now. Any other suggestions for new games to pick up and marvel at the power of the new machine?

Ahh my ridiculousness know no bounds....Despite enjoying what I've played of Ghostwire and still loving Elden Ring....managed to end up with Tiny Tina's Wonderland in the cart as well....I don't see too much out the rest of the year thankfully, yearly gaming budget spent in the first quarter, that's bound to be worth a trophy or two ;)

I really thought i was finishing Greedfall last night.
Huge boss, huge decision with no turning back, emotional cutscene and all that jazz.
But no...after all that, i now have to go to two of the cities to talk to someone and keep going back and forth.
Hopefully i´ll finish it up tonight and if the itch subsides i´ll start Cyberpunk 2077.
Dragging a bit is it Glass? I remember blowing up one of my alliances so I could just proceed to the end. The game was still mostly great, lol. Pacing is a tough thing in long RPGs.Btw, did you see they released an Elex 2?

Framerate issues in Elden Ring have now disappeared thanks to XSX. Only had enough time to set the thing up and do a quick test drive, but all set for the weekend!

Finally finished Greedfall.
The game dragged on quite a bit by the end but apart from that i enjoyed the ride.
It was a nice AA rpg with a good focus on choices and dialogue options. Combat was fun although it turned out to feel really easy mid game onward.
Bosses were fun though.
Exploration was also pretty cool as the world is really pretty to look at. I always enjoy a world divided in areas where the developers are able to put more detail in each area.
Overall i give it a solid 7 out of 10.
Started RE 8 and just managed to survive the attack in the initial village. Damn...that was stressfull!!
I like the visuals and the overall atmosphere (so far). Really creepy but allowing me the usual exploration in Resi games that i enjoy som much.
Also, im playing in performance mode which feels really nice after 65 hrs of 30 fps sluggishness in Greedfall.
I started and finished Tiny Tina's Wonderland over the past few days. Overall, enjoyed it more than I did Borderlands 3, which I felt was a bit of a chore at times.Back to Elden Ring for a bit before continuing with Ghostwire, I think. Though to be honest I feel like I'm in the mood for something different, not sure what though.

I'll be interested to hear what you guys think of the Resi 8 story by the end. I enjoyed it but then again before the 2 remake, Resi 6 was probably my favourite ;) Might be in the mood for a bit of horror myself, might be time to revisit the village. Kind of waiting for the next gen updates for 2, 3 and 7 to arrive though

Damn. I've just read it was a mistake that it was listed as coming to Games Pass. Let's hope it was just a slip up and it'll come on eventually. It was badged with Games Pass on XBL but MS have now said it was a mistake.

So far, although im finding it less scary then RE 7 i love the setting and the atmosphere. It feels a bit more over the top but hey, its a resi game. Its suposed to be a bit like that.
Still haven't been able to tear myself away from Elden Ring, but I'm due for a breather. I've been interested in Kentucky Route Zero for ages. Now that it is on Game Pass, I might have to download it and give myself a break. The sheer number of hours I've put in to Elden Ring is making me go cross-eyed.

The atmosphere of the game though...spot on.
Already upgraded my shotgun and pistol damage, inventory size and bought the shotgun shells recipe. Im all about fire power. lol.
I'm still not completely sure what I'm in the mood for. I've been messing about in Elden Ring (doing daft things like gathering smithing stones to make a torch +3 for no reason other than I'm curious to see it's stats when maxed out). Got me thinking though - I started another new game as another wretch. The wretch starts off with just a big stick and his undies, one of the first people you are supposed to meet is a merchant. If you were the merchant would you really be thinking "here comes a potential customer"? I think it'd more likely be "this looks like something I should avoid" or "if this guys got money, I don't want to know where he keeps it"
To make it even more suspicious the potential customer comes back 10 minutes later in a local soldier uniform covered in what looks like blood.
Kind of reminded me of a part of Diablo 2 (but in a different way). Paladin say something like - I'll make good use of this abandoned trove.....it's only abandoned because you are just after slaughtering the previous owners!

After so many hrs, do you still think Elden Ring is as good as in the beginning?
I ask because i have 60 eur in my ps store wallet and i truly dont know where to spend them.I havent found a game to haw in the last 3 sales if i recall.

If I could only play one game the rest of my life, it would likely be one of the contenders. It's one I may take breaks from but will keep coming back to over and over. The game is vast and gorgeous (Elden). If you truly wanted to see everything the game has to offer, you will be putting in hundreds of hours. That said, you could probably never leave the opening area and be very content with your purchase. Unlike other From games, imo, it's willing to meet you on your own terms and let you create your own adventure.Resident Evil talk is making me crave a horror game. Maybe it's time I get back around to Evil Within 2.

Don't know about the Pro Glass but the framerate issues on PS5 have mostly been cleared up. But even before, it wasn't at the point it would dampen my enjoyment
The game scales well, and I had zero issues most the time, even on a old Xbox One S (backup for travel). The Pro should be fine, with a stutter here and there if there is a lot of commotion while riding a horse outdoors.
Pretty happy with my current Elden Ring gameplan (number 12765). Still early on with this character,mostly messing about and had been mostly aiming for a strength type but fancied a bit of bleeding damage. So one heavy uchigatana later, I'm now pretty happy with defence and attack. No doubt something else will pop into my head and I'll be on to gameplan no 12766 soon enough.And as usual I'm neglecting my health, which will no doubt come back to bite me in the ass sooner rather than later. You'd think if I want to survive longer I'd put a point or two more into it but no, always an afterthought.

In all seriousness, I am at a point in the game where the tiny little demi-human enemies are one-shotting me. I'm currently at 26 VIT, and my plan is to explore and grind until I hit 30. Went back to some earlier game areas and discovered a couple bosses and two completely new zones I somehow missed when I was last there 80 and 50 hours ago. It never ends.
Why dodge when you can hide behind a massive shield? ;) Wait a minute that tactic has a tiny little flaw....I can't really attack if I'm permanently turtled up. Though to be fair my current shield does significant damage itself. Note to self - see how far you can go just using shield ;)
You can poke things with a spear while hiding behind great shields...that still works. I also found a great shield that spews fire out of its mouth. Yes, you read that right. There also seems to be a higher than usual number of shields with spike, thorns, and various other unpleasant things attached to them.
Spent most of the weekend on Elden Ring and I'm not far off where I was first time around but...I think I've messed up one of the side stories. Attacked an NPC by accident, they are still alive but attack on sight. I think I have to talk to another character to progress their story, so hoping doing that will rectify things. Not the end of the world but a little annoying. Last time I take advice from scribbles on the ground!Think I saw Weird West and Crusader Kings 3 were on gamepass. 2 games I'd been thinking of picking up when they are on offer, so might take a break and give them a go

I gamed a little over the weekend. Started Alan Wake Remastered, played the first two episodes, and boy this game is as good as I remember it. It's definitely still one of my favourite games of all time. Has it aged? Yes a little - the 60 fPS and 4k help - but it's level design is still a little last gen. I mean the levels are more open than I remember but still feels like you have those 'no you can't go exploring there' barriers. The atmosphere, the erriness, the artwork, the story telling (I love the TVs) and characters are all really good. I really like the game play too - nothing complex but I find it satisfying. I know this game isn't for everyone but I love it. It actually makes me realise how good Control is too. Compared to my other old favourite game of all time that I played recently - Mass Effect 1 - I think Alan Wake has held up much better.

I went to a store and as i was browsing the games i looked at my side and there was a bunch of X´s that probably had just arrived.
I grabbed one and i think she understood by my look that it had to be done.
Probably it helped that i had just bought her a purse in the last store we went. haha.
Anyway, im really glad to have one now (despite no knowing when and what i´ll be playing there as the Pro is still the only console i have in my bedroom and where i play every night).
At least im now prepared for whatever next gen game that comes out and the Ps4 Pro cant handle it.
Gaming wise, i cleared the doll house in RE Village last night.
It has to be said that it was probably the creepiest setting i ever experienced in a Resi game hands down.
I was really really scared and had to take my headset out a couple of times because i wasnt handle it well.

It's good when you can have non-verbal communication and get your own way lol. I think for any games that are available on PS4 Pro and Series X then you should go Series X every time IMO. BTW - Sniper Elite 5 is out next month on Games Pass day one. One of my favourite game series - loved them all. I was looking at PS5 consoles last night and I still can't justify one - not one game I want to play on it yet. I'm really hoping for a PS5 slim and by that time it's out there should be more games I want to play on PS5 - God of War Ragnarok being one. I also want to play TLOU2 again - does anyone know if that has a free PS5 upgrade?

My problem here is that i have a huge Ps4 backlog and if i switch to the X its like im throwing away money.
I dont mind playing the PS4 games i still have and gradually move to the X as new games come out.

Yea don't waste money but for anything you buy cross gen going forward Series X is the way to go - unless you ever get a PS5 then you have a decision to make. Keep an eye on Games Pass though if you subscribe as you'll be suprised how many third party games go on it day one.

I already have Gamepass mate. I have GP ultimate (if recall the name correcly) which also has a bunch of EA games too.
Sadly the TV i have in my gaming room doenst support 120 fps which sucks. I thought it was the best tv i had but both the ones in my bedroom and living room support 120 which left me puzzled.
At least it supporst 4k at 60 fps which is also fine.
I might haw Elden Ring for the X though as it would be an amazing game to try it out.

I have 120fps on my gaming TV but I don’t use it. Unfortunately even though my TV was advertised as 4K 120fps it’s actually 1080p 120fps. Proved by leading TV reviewers on test images. I’m so annoyed about it, as it was the only reason I went for the TV, but neither John Lewis nor Sony will acknowledge its the case - all they say is it’s working as intended. Which it isn’t as 1080p is not 4K. I’ll never buy a Sony TV again the misleading lying barstewards.

The xbox says the one in my gaming room only allows 4k at 60fps.
Curiosly in my living room tv where i have the Series S, it says it doenst support 4k at 120 but it does allow for 1080 120 fps.
Im not using it though because while playing Fallout 3 and GTA IV i noticed a lot of screen tearing which got fixed once i lowered the option to 60 fps.
Its a bit confusing tbh. Just a while back i tried Subnautica on the X and with normal setting the game looked amazing but very slughish (30 fps). I turned to performance mode and the 60 fps were night and day.
This makes me think if 4k is really that worthwile. If i leave it with 1080 then i probably wont see much diference and i wont be getting such slughish fps in games.
Im probably wrong though as i do find these settings a bit confusing.

4k for me is much much sharper than 1080p - I won't sacrifice 4k for 1080p. Yea some games have options of 30fps and 60fps the latter wins out for me every time. I can't tolerate 30fps games now. Generally speaking all recent games - last 12-18 months - are 4k 60fps on Series X, or at least 4k dynamic scaling 60fps - which for me is good. 4k 30fps is a bit sharper (fixed 4k rather than dynamic scaling and more graphical effects) but there isn't much improvment really over 4k60fps graphics wise. Most 120fps games render at a much lower native resolution anyway so you tend not to get 4k 120fps anyway on either Series X or PS5. It's more like 1080p 120fps or at best dynamic scaling 1440p 120fps. For my TV what ever it receives at 120hz it downscales everything - so 1080p 120fps is more like 720p. And this is a 4k TV which 'allegedly' supports 4k 120fps - My series X even says my TV supports 4k 120fps but unfortunately it's a lie as Sony downscale it to a lower resolution inside the TV itself.

I mean, i know but how do i make the choice for, for example, always use 60 fps?
I ask because the X is not showing the option to manually chose.

It's usally in game - usually under graphics setting and it will either be performance (60FPS) or quality (fixed 4k, 30FPS) graphics modes. Not all games are the same but generally it's something like that. Also, in the XBox settings you have TV display options - I keep mine at 4k 60fps (and then the game will render at the in-game options).
Started Elden Ring as an Astrologer? Mage? This was advised online to make things easier but I'm not so sure it's for me. I've played every Dark Souls and Demon's Souls as a knight (sword and shield). I can see that a new feature of Elden Ring is you can counterstrike if your shield blocks and attack. Reason I'm doubting it is -

got Margit down to 10% health on first go then been getting humped every time since
went to Roundtable hold and despite being told it was safe was invaded and got wrecked by an NPC who has a quadruple soul arrow and scythe

Returned to flat screen Forbidden West. Still got it's issues but damn if isn't beautiful. Mopping up side quests before returning to the main story.
Also dipped into Guardians of the Galaxy as it's on gamepass. It's ....ok. Sometimes the banter is funny. Sometimes it's not. Generally there is too much banter to the point you want them to shut up.
