Thomas, I wouldn’t worry too much. Even if people are saying they are upvoting it in the other thread, the large majority of voters don’t post on that thread. Also, I think someone said it there, nonfiction prompts are always tough to get in.
But we’re here for you if you need the help!

I love this!!

Maybe 'A book with a unit of time in the title (hour, day, week, etc)'

Oops, sorry Emily. I didn't see your comment first.

Side note, way back when, her song Love Story was actually instrumental in making my husband he might want to marry me. (So clearly, I will fight anyone who says it's a bad song. ;-) )

Ha! Bring it on, Raquel! (It's not that it's a bad song... it's a mixed metaphor that sets me off as a (former) high school English teacher who teaches the scarlet letter).

I'd support the 22 prompt. Lyrically, it has night, midnight, stranger, love, happy, free, lonely, magical, and heartbreak in the lyrics. I can think of a ton of books with those words in the titles.

And can I just take a book I want to read, post it in the current thread, and voila it is posted in a 2021 thread?

The threads are technically for books that members have read that month and really loved. But if you read a book and enjoyed it, but can't find a place to put it, you could add it to the thread.
Hey Ron, our weekly discussion threads for our 2022 list won't be up until October or November once we finalize the list order! Right now, you can just discuss options and thoughts on the results thread for each poll and contribute to the listopia.
I personally use the community spreadsheet and the listopias to track which books I want to read for each prompt, if that's what you're looking for.

Oh! If you read a book you love, you can post that book on the Best Book of the Month threads (like the June or July one), and then you can then add it to the listopia or one of the mods will add it for you. It's not automatic, but we do require that you post in the Best Book of the Month threads before posting the book to the listopia.
That being said, you shouldn't add books you haven't read yet!

I mean… if you want to count it, then sure? If it was truly your best book of the month, then technically it would be on the list. It’s easy to find loopholes if you’re looking for them (or need them!)

I don't think so? If you read a book and then post it to the threads, it wasn't a Best Book of the Month when you actually read it.

@Annie, that's true! I guess I was thinking that because I tend to sort my prompt-less books into incomplete prompts at the end of the year, months after actually reading them, it could count. But like Emily said, I'd only do that if I needed the loophole and if I really did consider that book my best of the month!

haha I love this...reminds me of some crazy time travel thing...travel to the future, read a book, pop it on the list, travel back to the present, check the list, yep your book is there ,count it!

Ah! That's fair. I didn't think of it like that but of course, the challenge prompts are as flexible or rigid as you'd like. Sometimes you just need a loophole!

Read a book that honors Betty White (who will turn 100 in 2022).
Betty White was born in January 1922, so (I hope) she will turn 100 in 2022. (Even if she doesn't make it to 100, she will be honored by the press.) I think most people know who she is. My 22 year old niece LOVES her, and anything related to the Golden Girls. She's a great model for active aging.
This could include books about:
Old people - funny, active, sassy, or otherwise
Funny women, funny actresses, long living actors and comedians.
Memoirs, Golden Girls, other TV shows, characters she played.
The theme song "Thank you for being a friend"
Aging
the words "Golden girl" - a search returned 879 results.
Living a long life - health, humor, medical science
Immortality - through magic or science fiction. (Vampires, Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, body swaps, transhuman/AI.)

I love Betty White! This would definitely be an upvote for me.

Hahaha right? xD

Could also have the word "White" or "Golden" in the title or a character named Betty. Really fun idea! I love Betty White!

Agreed! I've read a few from that time period in the last year or so and could post if there are any matches.

In this group, it's always ultimately up to you to decide, especially for a prompt like this that is open-ended.

Thomas, those kinds of questions are better for the results thread for that prompt than in the Wild Discussion where it can get buried pretty easily. You may want to post it there and people will be more likely to help out.

To give you an idea of what I mean, here are a couple of examples:

What do people think?

Oh Aimee, I love that. I looked at your post on my phone app and it didn't show the examples, so I was a little unsure, but now that I'm on a desktop and can see what you mean, I see what you mean!
