Team Sherlock Holmes! - chat
I guess I should look into the rules now because I have no idea how to play this at the moment. Should we have a strategy? Or just wing it?
Rules:
Now, there will be some basic things you’ll always know about my character:
You’ll be using book covers, titles/series names, and in text words to ask your questions! (To use a series name/title you must use already together words. Meaning you could use a Black Dagger Brotherhood book for the word black.)
For example:
You want to ask the question - “Is your character a female?”
Here is a list of example books you could read to ask that question:
These types of questions will help you narrow down the list of characters that the answer may be. But if you wanted to really narrow it down, say to within a few characters, you could ask more in depth questions. See below.
For example:
You want to ask the question - “Does your character have black hair?”
Here is a list of example books you could read to ask that question:
You want to ask the question - “Does your character have blue eyes?”
Here is another example of a way you might use a book to ask that question:
Now, there will be some basic things you’ll always know about my character:
1. It will always be a book character.
2. My character will always be someone from a book on this list.
- Yes, I know that this is a massive list. Therefore, my character will only ever be a character from the first two pages.
You can use members who might know me and/or my reading style to determine if a book on the list isn’t someone I’d pick from. Many of the books on the list I’ve never even heard of (lol, I just needed a list with many well known books *shrugs*)
But I might just pick a book/character I don’t have a clue about just to throw you off! Muahaha. :D
3. The character will always be the MC from the book.
Never a side character.
- AKA if my character is from Harry Potter, it will only be Harry. Not Ron, Hermione, or anyone else.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
-->Because there is a female on the cover
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
-->Because on page 156 the word female is in the text
--> Pg. 156, "Aside from the female proprietor..."
The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine
-->Because the word female is in the title
These types of questions will help you narrow down the list of characters that the answer may be. But if you wanted to really narrow it down, say to within a few characters, you could ask more in depth questions. See below.
For example:
You want to ask the question - “Does your character have black hair?”
Here is a list of example books you could read to ask that question:
Wonder by R.J. Palacio
-->Because there is a person on the cover with black hair
Where She Went by Gayle Forman
-->Because there is brown hair on the cover and the word black is in text
-->Ch 1, "..so-called Shooting Star "black hole," but no one.."
Dark Lover by J.R. Ward
-->Because black is in the series title and hair is in text
--> Ch 1, "I like your black hair."
You want to ask the question - “Does your character have blue eyes?”
Here is another example of a way you might use a book to ask that question:
Playing It Cool by Amy Andrews
-->Because the cover is blue and the word eyes is in loc. 92 in text

I just wanted to let everyone know that you MUST post a guess with your book. This isn’t a page point challenge. You need to make a guess for every book you post to your teams review thread.

That’s correct. The SS is really just so a member who wants to post for “black hair” can go on there to see if it’s already been posted or not. Because if a member posts a double guess I will not be keeping track of those. You’ll just lose your guess for that book and get the points for it only. ☺️
I saw Jude guessed Black Hair.. so I went with Male lmao. Just because that's what my first book worked for and I didn't want to get that creative yet. My creativity isn't flowing at the moment but I'm sure it'll happen tomorrow.

All set, my dear. :)

lol lol

Hmm we could try mythology? Or demi has a guess? For some reason I was thinking it could be Throne of Glass - Celaena.

I dont think it will be either bc its not YA
