Review — This book packed a big punch for being on the shorter side. I really enjoyed the characters and the relationships built in this book. The author did a great job with Mia. She could have been a very boring character, but she’s a fighter and it comes through the story. Anton is a little too perfect, but if that’s my biggest complaint...then I don’t really have one. My biggest disappointment was how quickly the tension was resolved. It was quite a let down. This is my first book by Ms. Rothert, but not my last! I can’t wait to read Luca’s story.

This was bloody hard to read. The characters are neither interesting nor indulging. I didn't know what's wrong with them or why they try to be angry against each other. It took several chapters for the characters to even speak with each other in complete sentences. The author already told they are secretly loving even before the book began. It was one of the bland books.

So sorry for delaying this task. It was too hard a read, Kat.
@Hayde, now I see what you meant not reading less numbered book.

Task 5 - 29. Read over 750 pages in books about the same profession, teams decide which profession.
Professions such as LEO, athletes or musicians are fine. Just don't try to pass off a rancher and a chef as both being in the food industry - they are simply too far apart. Please include the selected profession in your completion posts. Remember to let me know how you know the books qualify with links or any necessary information.

We can do musicians, police, firefighter, doctor, chef/baker, rancher, athlete, construction, waitress, lawyer, mechanic

I can always find a sports book to read...but my last few books to try and squeeze into March have a chef & former military/construction worker; cop & medic; and rancher & business woman...but I can find almost anything. =)

Do re-reads count for this challenge? I have a law enforcement one that I don't mind re-reading.
I also found At Grave's End, Cat is part of a agency that hunts vampires. Do you all think it would count as law enforcement?

Jack(H) started off very well and the conflict he had with Cameron(h), was pretty solid. I enjoyed the initial few chapters, especially the suspense until the author chose to reveal the culprit and even his thought process within the first eight chapters. I mean why give away such curious information so early? Slowly, as the chapters progressed I was expecting to see some romance, slow-burn, but the author chose to again rely on some uncontrollable-lust that the characters seemed to be having for a long time and call that love. I want to read about their love, rather I just heard that they already were in love before the story began. The characters were interesting, especially Jack, and I wanted to know much and more about him. Why even Cameron had an interesting life but the romance didn't charm me. It could have been better, but it fell a bit short.

Story dragged on in parts but over great book. I loved the jokes between the various characters. Justina is just hilarious.

How the Book Qualifies ➔ from the précis: ...“his brother hires JJ, a fiery-haired, tough cop who lives…”
Review — Another amazing story to follow the first in this series! In this second book, we get to know Cazador better and meet a new officer, J.J. These two are both strong characters, which makes them work really well as a couple, but also adds challenges to their relationship...especially for Cazador who wants to protect the women in his life he cares for. Another fun layer that worked really well in this story was getting to know Regan, Cazador’s daughter that he didn’t know he had. The story is told from multiple points of view, but I love that Regan was often one of those viewpoints. I am ready for Bull’s story...as soon as it drops in audio!

Task 6 - 49. Each teammate reads a book published in the same month and year, teams decide. No pass for this task.
As a team select a month and year, then each teammate reads a book initially published in that month and year. Make sure you use the initial publication date. If there is a date at the top of the editions page, use it. Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected month/year combo in your completion posts.

Wow, thanks Kat. You saved the effort.
