She needed to remember to keep her distance from Cazador, mentally and physically and every other way.

It doesn't matter what genre it is, there's one constant when it comes to Cherise Sinclair books: the woman can WRITE. Whether it's writing tortured heroes with a heart of gold, or immeasurably strong heroines that are fully capable of fighting their own battles, Cherise just delivers each and every single time. This is a very different series from what I'm used to of hers. It's a
Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
Lethal Balance is another five star offering from Cherise Sinclair, with non-stop action, characters you want to meet and a well developed plot.

As usual, the author draws the reader into her world and sets up a story line that makes you want to stay in that world.

This is the second in the Sons of the Survivalist series and is a worthy followup to the first. Cazador Ramierz is the youngest and smallest of the four street kids adopted by Sergeant Mako, who took them from an abusive foster home and

Cherise Sinclair is back with another book in the Sons of the Survivalist series. It features another one of the brothers. It’s Caz’s book and if you’re a fan of Spanish accents, then you’re probably going to love this book.

I really loved the heroine of this book. She was sassy and strong, which is actually what a lot of Sinclair’s heroines are, but it did take me a lot longer to warm up to Caz for some reason. I liked him, but I never really fell for him in the same way I have with some of

Quick(ish) Review
Ms. Sinclair’s latest series has been a departure in some respects, but still familiar in the ways that count.

JJ, a cop in Arizona who has been dealing with systematic harassment from her ex who’s also a cop. Her reputation is in tatters, everyone believing her ex’s lies about her, thinking that she’s basically sleeping her way through the force. When she realizes she has no backup and her life is in danger from these lies, she decides to answer the ad for a deputy in the

Finding a new story by Cherise always makes me so happy!
And i always pre-order without a second thought.
Because i KNOW it will be another treat, another beauty.
One that nestles in my heart, right next to all her other beauties.
With or without the BDSM element, they are all so special!

The second story of the Sons of the Survivalist is about Caz.
Like his brothers,he has his own traumas to deal with.
Feeling like he failed to save his mother and sister when he was a kid,ánd losing his girlfriend did a

Solid read. Second in the series. Willing to read the rest.
This book was good but not spectacular. I enjoyed the little girl. There was so much of her though that it took away from the romance. The romance was pretty low key. Not much tension between the hero and the heroine. They fell in love pretty easy and there was no real conflict between them. The climax of the book was driven by the child and not the couple.
Probably will not reread.

Powerful emotions were brought out in Cherise Sinclair's latest book, Lethal Balance. I loved Caz and was glad to see the story of his past and how it shaped the way he is today. JJ, the heroine, is a tough, no nonsense LEO but she also has a side that she's been forced to hide. I really hurt for her before she met Caz and she's endured a lot. The drama and intrigue kept me turning the pages and when someone unexpected shows up, I was shocked! This was such a good book and i can't wait for ...more

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Cherise Sinclair swept me away on a tidal wave of heat, feels, intensity and a stunning environment that left me once again, breathless!

Lethal Balance was exactly the kind of story I can expect to get from Miss Sinclair. Powerful with deep emotions and a strong hero who oozes sexuality and dominance and who cares for those close to him as well as a heroine who is equally as tough, beautiful, sweet and has incredible smarts. The story itself is intriguing and the

Reading this book you experience such a wide range of emotions. The depth and intensity are strong in this one.

Along with the emotionally intense story is such realistic descriptions of the Alaskan landscapes and both the beauty and the danger of living in a small town.

At this moment I want to say I think this is the best book Cherise has written. Of course that may change with the next book but for right now I loved every aspect of this book.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh these boys!! I am so in love with this series!! I mean each brother I fall for but I think broken Hawk is going to win my heart I the end.

It was OK. I liked the trope, but the writing style wasn't my fav in this one. For starters, once the young girl Regan (aged about 9?) entered the scene, there were several scenes told through her POV, which I found a little weird and I didn't like it. I wanted the adults' POV.

There was also too much moralising/proselytising going on. Right through the book, I felt as if life lessons were being forced down my throat. They were common sense things generally I agreed with, but I didn't like the

Once again Cherise Sinclair delivers with a heartwarming story

A man who couldn’t prevent the deaths of his loved ones and never wants to love again, until a woman let down by the living and don’t want her heart to be broken again, and brave little girl who never knew love steal his heart.

Unlike her Shadowlands and Dark Haven or Mountain Masters books this series isn’t BDSM Romance but still this book is very much a Cherise Sinclair story. Strong characters, solid plot and interesting side

I like Rescue Alaska

My respect for Cherise Sinclair as an author has increased significantly. She is already on my must-buy list, but after reading this . . . Words fail me. Not only is there the wonderful romance that Cherise Sinclair is so very good at, but the challenges she throws at these characters are so real and believable. It was awesome. Anyone who has suffered from malicious gossip will identify with JJ. I appreciated how it was handled in this story.

This is the second in this series and I think you do need to have read the first as it does follow on with the story.
JJ is a strong woman, who moves to Alaska to escape an untenable situation in Nevada. She and Caz start as friends and things develop, but of course there are traumas, incidents, challenges and gossip to overcome. For me Caz was not developed enough and was caught betwixt and between and ended up as less for it: less than JJ and less than he could or should have been.
So I feel
Cherise Sinclair has woven a lovely tale of four reunited brothers (foster brothers) who are continuing what their foster dad, Makos, had started - the reboot of the township of Rescue.

The hero of,this story is Cas the town medic and youngest of the foster kids. He has a backstory that has made him hardened to the idea of getting close to anyone in case he can’t protect them. He instantly falls n live with his newfound daughter.

In Lethal Balance Cherise Sinclair tackles some tough societal issues facing us today; bullying, bigotry, and discrimination. She also takes on small town gossip and the hurt it causes. The characters in this romance, Jj & Caz, have been shaped by their pasts and are subjected to the aforementioned issues in their current lives. As with most of Cherise's characters, they are multilayered, deeply emotional, intelligent and strong. Together they make a formidable team once they give into their ...more

Welcome back to Rescue Alaska

This is the second book of the series and tells Cazador's story. Caz has earned quite the reputation of a ladies' man. This is a problem when JJ comes to town to fill the position of law enforcement officer. She is leaving her position due to harassment by the make officers and is quite concerned about gossip ruining her life again.
Caz receives a big surprise when his history catches up with Jim in the shape of his 9 year old daughter. Regan is awesome!

I can't look at this cover art without laughing. At first I thought someone had given the guy Bieber hair but upon consideration it more makes me think of Gerard Way circa TCFSR. I don't know, it just has an Uncanny Valley vibe.

Anyway, the story... pretty mellow, with a lot of the main danger coming from Man vs. Nature, which was an interesting change from CS's usual. A bunch of the plot is motivated by the sexual harassment the heroine receives from her former cop boyfriend and his crew, so

Cazador's story grips you from start to finish

Five stars for Caz's story, with a strong and conflicted hero and the arrival of an equally strong heroine dropped into the utter beauty of Alaska and the crazy that is Mako's sons the scene is set for laughter tears and suspense.

Well crafted storyline with characters you feel you know as friends, the right amount of building attraction between the romantic leads culminating in descriptive and sensual detail.

Loved this book to bits, one to treasure

Love is always the answer

I loved this story about a woman running from so much bad and finding so much good. A man who’s not interested in finding love but love finds him anyway.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues that’s meaningful and helps the story forward
The author has created a world that’s intriguing to step in to and I can’t wait for Hawk and Bull’s stories.
Sizzling love building between JJ and Cazador and be prepared to cry a little.

As always this author doesn’t

Cherise Sinclair is one of my favorite authors. I love the stories she rights and the characters in them. Lethal Balance is no exception. This book has everything that I look for in romance novel. It was really the perfect blend of drama, suspense, past and current characters and of course some pretty hot nights
The book was more than JJ and Caz. I loved Regan! She was a bright light and I'm looking forward to seeing more a bit her, Bull and Hawk.

I fall in love with all of Cherise Sinclair's characters and each book I read, those are my favorite. By far right now Caz and JJ are two of my favorite characters both flawed by previous experiences, but kind and willing to overcome and serve others. The introduction of Regan is beautifully done and is what completes Caz for having a higher purpose and to get past experiences in his life he blamed himself for and to become a better man. The sparks fly between the two and neither one can take ...more

Lethal Balance Indeed

This book contains Caz’s story and a bigger intro to him that you got with Gabe’s story, you also get a glimpse into Bull and Hawk as well as one of Gabe a Audrey. Caz’s story involves new comer JJ and shows how rumors can damage a reputation and create all kinds of trouble, also how fears can be paralyzing regardless of how brave we are. Caz gets a surprise child and she is a great character that I am sure will get her own book in time. Another beautiful and intriguing

I love all of Cherise Sinclair's books and I'm sure I'll re-read this one eventually as she is a master at creating worlds with connected characters. The second offshoot from Club Shadowlands' Master Z's trip to Alaska to introduce us to Mako's sons, I bought this as soon as it was published. I'm definitely not sorry I did as it was good to learn more about the sons and the inhabitants of Rescue, Alaska. A very satisfying romance/action novel, the only thing missing is the BDSM hot sex that the ...more

Lethal to the heart ...

I was waiting for this second instalment and it did not disappoint. Caz has such a sad back story and linking him with Reagan and JJ gave him the opportunity to understand that he had been too young to save anyone in his childhood. Just like the first book, Gabriel and Bull and Hawk and Audrey and Lillian and Dante were a fine cast of characters. Could be read stand-alone but so much better as part of what I expect will be a foursome. Really looking forward to the next
This was a great second book in this series. There's a discussion of sexual harassment in the workplace and bullying. I thought Caz and JJ came together in a great fashion. Every step of their courting seemed so natural. I liked how they found little pockets of themselves that they weren't sure they had. Those little pockets helped them to see themselves and each other in different ways. This is such a great story that kept me turning the pages.

Amazing Series Continues!!!

These are such amazing characters with such depths that you will laugh and cry and never want the story to end. This is incredibly awesome reading!!! I highly recommend this series!! I highly recommend this author. I've read just about everything and adored/loved every single word. These are books I will and have re-read several times!! Again, extremely worth your reading time!!! Don't wait another second. Read this!!!
I love that the author can take a group of men and work them to their happy endings. The over arc of this story with the PZs is going to be a very interesting turn I think. Cazador has a heartbreaking past and we get to the nitty gritty of it here. His perfect woman comes in the form of JJ, the new law enforcement officer hired by Gabe to help in Rescue. This gal hasn’t had it easy either. Visiting these stories always make me want to visit Alaska (but SNOW!). I can’t wait for Bulls story!

Storytelling at its best...

Fantastic story.. I am truly enjoying this new series of Ms. Sinclair’s. Her story telling always grabs me and takes me away, this time to Alaska and boy does she deliver a perfect mix of intrigue, a storyline that flows, a connection between the characters, and, AND hotness that’ll heat up any night or day, even in Alaska! Can’t wait for the next book.. excited!
