MountainKat | 31593 comments Information required when posting your completion/s:

Task
Book/cover link
Page numbers with source
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary.
Date Completed.
Rating/Review.

**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

MountainKat | 31593 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 3, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

Katelyn | 546 comments Hello Team,

My name is Katelyn and I am 25 born April 1995. I live in Columbus, OH and I have been here my entire life, This makes me on Eastern Standard Time. I work in a library and have since I was a teen, so I love talking books! I don't get to read as much since going full time, but I am hoping this challenge will motivate me more.

I am now getting into some audio books to listen to on my drive to work, so that helps. I mostly read contemporary YA/NA/romance. There are a few books outside of those that I would like to attempt.

This is my second time doing this challenge, so I am excited to get back into it.

Top 5:
Red, White & Royal Blue
Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating
The Happy Ever After Playlist

☘KathyD☘ | 4827 comments hi team...I seem to be the new kid on the block! my name is Kathy...I’m a 45-year-old editor living in the southeast suburbs of Chicago putting me on Central Standard Time...I have lived in the Chicago suburbs all my life, but previously lived in the western suburbs before meeting my-now husband.

currently, I exclusively “read” audiobooks...it’s easier for me and I can play games on my phone while listening to a book...also, I almost exclusively read romance...I’m open to most subgenres though contemporary and paranormal are favorites...as for favorite books, I could no sooner narrow down my top five movies...I do have a 5-star rated shelf though and love recommending books from it for other challenges!

I would appreciate not being captain since I am captaining two other challenges at this time...I have participated in the previous two rounds of this challenges so I am looking forward to getting this challenge started! finally, I’m good with your name suggestion Katelyn. =)

J | 263 comments Am a 28 year old Software Engineer from India. I grew up reading borrowed library books, and without them I don't think I could have survived, with all the emotional rides I'd travelled so far, in life. So, I read, if I am not working or spending time with family.

I have no certain restriction on genre of reading, but I always love a challenging prose. And last time, I'd amazing time in this challenge with you guys, so this time I am still more eager.

@KathyD, welcome to the team. Would love to know all the interesting reviews and books you are going to suggest.

@Katelyn: You would be a rocking captain, Kat. Also, any time you need, we can pitch in to update our status.

Hayde | 207 comments Hi team! Excited to start my second round of Amazing race challenge.

I actually know all of you as I recently finished the Bachelor challenge with KathyD.

About me: I’m a 32 year old engineer currently living in Indiana.

I been on a paranormal binge for the past few months. (I finally was able to finish the Kate Daniels series 🗡 ) whenever I need a break from paranormal, I’ll do contemporary and sometimes historicals.
I really liked this challenge last year as it made expand my repertoire. I’m open to most genres, although I will be saying no to L.J. Shen, I’m still trying to emotionally recover from In the Unlikely Event. 😭🙈

With St. Patricks Day coming up, everyone is Irish! As a team select whether you are going to read books set in Ireland OR books with an Irish character OR books with a primarily green cover. Each teammate must read a book that fits the qualification selected, no pass for this task.

Please include the team selected qualification in your completion posts. Remember you need to include how you know your book qualifies! I need to know where to look to confirm your book, include any info or links as necessary. If choosing the primarily green cover, it needs to be over 50% green to be accepted. Don’t forget to use the first edition Kindle page count!

At the age of 28, I am wondering what it would feel like to get old and live after losing my family and my lover, and all I could think was about spending time with them.

Evelyn, the Hollywood star of the 50s narrating her life story, and the reason behind her seven marriages is the crux of the story. All the times when I was reading, I wanted to google about the movie names, the award ceremony, the gossip columns, the actor names, mentioned about the character. The book was written such close to reality. And it began hurting so badly, as the book went on to paint the hardships of queer women, the movie industry's sexism, and keep providing the feminist themes through which a woman tries to grab her agency without shame.

The romance was really heart-touching and brilliantly written.

A Sheikh for Christmas (All I Want for Christmas is..., #1) by Leslie North
A Sheikh for Christmas, Leslie North – 3/17/21 – ✮✮✮✰✰
Kindle first-edition180 pages
How the Book Qualifies ➔ primarily green cover (team chosen)
Review — This was a quick, festive read, but still enjoyable. Melanie isn’t a very strong character, but she slowly grows to become more than a socialite. Daveed is a typical alpha male, but a predictable one. Overall not the best Leslie North I’ve read, but not the worst either.

Annie is Vietnamese born but raised in US by WASP parents. The book debs a bit into what it feels not to fit in either world. Emmitt is your typical commitmentphobe playboy. He has a sweet side and he showed it for most of the book. I was fully rooting for him until the end where he acted very immature.
I really liked the diverse characters and how much the author discussed the struggles both main characters were going thru. The book did discuss the romance developing between Annie and Emmitt, but it mostly was each character was working thru their own personal struggles, with the support of the other.
