Good news! This must have gotten entered before BPL shelved it and so it is grandfathered without a Lexile restriction. I note it works for 10.6 Sentence and 10.9 Pub Trivia (merlot). Let us know if you see another."
Thank you! I think it might also fit 20.3, Opposites. There are four POV characters, two male, two female, with a roughly equal split of page time between the sexes (but possibly slightly more for the girls). Would that work?

+10 pts - combo (20.2, 20.10 - this book contains stories within stories starting with a traveler arriving at an inn that has been abandoned, a local rescues him and then begins to tell him of the reason the inn is forsaken, this leads to the reading of a diary written by the then owner about a newlywed couple arriving one night and the groom acted most peculiarly and not like a man in love. There is a scream in night, yet everything is well. Then it goes to diary entries written 16 years later when another traveler arrives to see the curious architecture of this inn built in colonial times that he heard about in a story while at a pub, then there is a discovery which leads to the traveler returning home to find out about the newlyweds of 16 years ago. He finds a hermit and that tells him another story of love, deceit, being left at altar, rivalry, jealousy, cousins, aunt, uncle that are guardians of an orphan and this story is relayed to the Inn’s owner in a long letter. Then a mother and daughter come to the inn, but the owner recognizes the mother as a former guest from 16 years ago and is staying under an assumed name and has been residing overseas. This duo also has a drama that is explained in an overheard conversation describing how the daughter is in love with a rich French nobleman that has pursued her. However parents are mysteriously not pleased and mother is now taking her away to marry a common merchant the daughter has never seen. Then the daughter relates a story about the nobleman whose sad history involves his father, his cousin, his cousin’s sister, a presumed death, a duel, a daring rescue of an enemy, a suicide and a rescue of two maidens. Within all these tales there are 3 generations in one of them, extended family in another and a hermit! Smile!)

Just a note for all our members: RwS has a rule about series being at least 3 installments OR some indication the author intends to continue it. While this is a new series and does not yet meet RwS 3-book requirement, recognizing N.K. Jemisin's writing history, I believe this series will be continued. It *does* qualify for 20.9.
