That doesn't mean I don't revise, revise, revise. It just means that I can find that one opening line from which all else will flow. That is the secret answer to writer's block. Close your eyes and find the truest sentence you can think of for the scene. It can be very simple, three or four words. If it is true, the rest of the page will gush out.(less)

Dear Wilma,
Thank you for your message. The best feeling comes when a reader tells you they liked your work. I've received many queries about a sequel to Three Daughters and when I finish my current project, I will give it serious consideration. Before I write a sequel, I want to be sure I can do justice to the original story which was unique and compelling. The backdrop of history and social change was pivotal to the emotional lives of the three women. The current political climate in that part of the world would probably overwhelm any story. Still, there is Nijmeh to consider. (less)

Oh, Will, wherefore art thou?

This morning I showered early took my ipad into the kitchen and listened to a YouTube meditation while I tidied up.  I felt calm and in control.  I was going to fast for the next ten hours.  I was a grown up with will power to spare.

AT 8:45, hunger began to knock. Ping, ping, ping.  I made this to protect me:
No kale but avocado and red cabbage

I wrapped the bowl to keep it fresh.  It sat on the... Read more of this blog post »

"Enjoyable Historical Fiction

Saga of two girls and how their fates intertwined. It moves along quickly and is an easy read. I enjoy this author's writing. Three Daughters, which she wrote years ago, is a favorite of mine. This is a good read!" Read more of this review »

“I can’t stop thinking of you. You’re not cynical. You don’t cling. You don’t giggle. You simply wait. Like a beautiful cat that knows it’s a rare species and that eventually everything it wants will come.”
