4 stars - an old Oprah book club pick. I may have read this ~20 years ago?, but not sure, it was a little familiar, but ultimately I don't remember reading it in full or remember much of the plot. I wish I had recorded all the books I've read in my life! :)
Yes Lorna I gave it 5*. I found the beggining a bit bland but I really liked the rest. How many stars did you give this book?

Laura, until your question about the cover, I did not realise that the book Practical Magic was the base for the Movie with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, which I loved back then. :)
It made me curious, so I am going to dive in today into the audiobook as well. Will go down a treat with having to bake pancakes galore. :)

A charming and light reading, even though it gets silly sometimes.
I have never heard about this book until recently when I read the review of a GR friend about it. But I am glad I tried it and I can see the publisher have re-published some long forgotten books by -for me- rather obscure authors and they seem to be right up my alley. :)
I know it's one of my ultimate fave movies!!! detective Gary not in the book as much as I would of liked but the daughters have a bigger role... beautifully written!!!!!enjoy pancakes xxx

The story was interesting, though there were whole parts in the present day part of it that were so unrealistic that I struggled. But it was a quick read. I got it from the library...I think I'd be annoyed if I paid full price for it. Lol.

I finished this audiobook yesterday on Librivox, and the cover matches with the one on their app. I used it to practice English.
Last Friday, I did the most important test of my life since I came to Ireland, a proficiency test, I was focused on doing this and doing well, and good news, I've got a great grade! I am still reading Crocodile on the Sandbank, so this is the next book I will finish!

We don't need to complete the tasks in order.
I can definitely take neon/spandex/boom box/ shoulder pads in text tasks + character wearing a headband.
They are all in my Ilona Andrews books. :)
Also, if we choose tasks A4a, my Practical Magic is on the "Movie better than film" list. I am currently listening to it.

You can either claim a task on the Mini extra tab (and still list the alternative tasks your book works for) or you can use the extra columns I added after the "reserve" column on the teacking sheet.Whichever you feel more comfortable with.
I will be happy to claim some more tasks later on, when everyone had their 1st perusal of tasks.It would be great if you could delay finishing books that you are currently reading until after the Mini deadline of 15 April, 9.00 am UTC.

If books don't work for a specific task, we can still use them to cover page count or spell-it-out tasks.

I took vamp and werewolf as they are mainly the kind of books i read..... i may do a Patricia Briggs on audio later as well as the psy changeling... also tempted by Midnight im buddy reading on the 16th is book 12.5 so i used that for 8 or above in a series (Midnight Breed) Also took book with 205 Pages for 201 - 250

Lorna,from the first tab, where you put your current books, you can switch to the next one, called copy of April mini
You just need to right-click on where it says "copy of april mini" and it will switch
They are at the bottom, underlined with red
