Oak Creek is a small town where Daisy has come back to lick her wounds from a broken engagement. Daisy has left behind her shop which is also owned by the sister of her ex-fiance. She now is staying and working with her Uncle in his florist shop. They have been working with a bridezilla who is rude and overly insistent. After having to redo her bridal bouquets and having a few choice words with Pricilla, it is a great shock when a knock on her uncle's door comes with the news of Pricilla's murder. It seems poison was put on the thorns of those roses and now Daisy is a suspect. Daisy now has to deal with a detective who is bitter from the broken relationship with her uncle. The plot thickens as Pricilla's cousin feels the murderer is no other than the groom. Together they begin sleuthing on their own to find out the murderer and get the detective off of Daisy's back. This was a fast, suspenseful read. It has many twists and turns, a budding romance, and a reentering of the ex-fiance and his sister. The only con was, the proofing of this kindle addition was atrocious!! So many errors if made me have to go back a reread lines to understand them. All in all though, a remarkable romance mystery. ook:Where Death Blossoms: A Cozy Mystery Book|56884877] by Cynthia Raye on Kindle. ARC

A very fast reading novella. Jules is back to a place that holds special memories of times past with her family. She needs to be away and alone. When she discovers a rental cabin has been built on her favorite dunes, she knows this is exactly what she needs. When the keys are handed over, she discovers that the cabin is a duplex rental and she has a neighbor. Aiden is a handsome, kind person who will let Jules have her privacy. They both discover they both are from twin siblings. This coincidence builds a bond between them. The storyline was very good, but I would have liked to see the characters more define, more about their pasts, and just longer. It was too rushed for me. I was left feeling empty.

I finished listening to Blood Lines by Angela Marsons, DI Kim Stone #5, and loved it! Here’s my review.
I finished reading Rebellion by Nora Roberts, The MacGregors #6, and enjoyed this historical transition to the family’s earlier generations. Here’s my review.

Two people brought together not knowing how much they really need each other. Anita is leaving her family as a mail order bride to lessen three burdens on her family. One financially and the other by viscous rumors by some of the townspeople regarding the morality of her. Third, all lies set out by a wicked man who is use to getting what he wants, and when he doesn't get it, does unspeakable things. Will is back from the war without his brother, who was killed. Feeling guilty that he was left to survive while many didn't, he doesn't believe he deserves happiness. Will's mother was the one who sent the letters and requested Anita to come to marry Will. Will is very angry by this deception and lets it be known he does not want to marry. A clean, spiritual, inspirational historical romance. I really enjoyed this story. The characters were well defined, strong and believable. I did find it boring after a while with all the scripture passages. I felt it was unnecessary and took away from the reading of the book. I found myself scanning past much of it. I felt smaller bits and pieces would have sufficed.
I finished listening to Unforgotten by Garrett Leigh, Forgiven #2, and enjoyed it more than the first! Here’s my review.
I finished listening to A Killer's Wife by Victor Methos, Desert Plains #1, and loved the courtroom drama! Here’s my review.
I’m listening to The Vineyard at Painted Moon by Susan Mallery.

What did you think of those books? I haven't read any of them yet.

Lady Alice Softcreek witnessed her father's horrific grief after the passing of her mother. She vowed then to never fall that deeply in love with someone and to deal with the grief of losing them. So she plans to never marry. The Marquess of Eearhum, William Millington is known for a rake, someone who woos's women only to leave them all alone. William and his brother Christopher have been invited to the Manor of Alice's father for their ball and to do some matchmaking. Alice immediately finds the Marquess distasteful and wants nothing to do with him, while Christopher has eyes on Alice's sister Emma. But the magnetism between Lady Alice and William is difficult to be denied. Now there is another plot in the equation. Someone does not want these two getting together. People's lives are now being endangered. This was a clean, historical romance book with many twists and turns. With romance, suspense, and mystery. The characters in this book were very well defined and realistic. You really got to know them. The only con of the book on Kindle, was it needed to be proofed better. I would highly recommend this book.

I just went through the entire series in Audiobook format for the 4th time. Once a year I do a read through and skip the books with the worst torture and sexual violence (about 6 books) as once is enough for those. The only problem then is the 'letdown' when you finish of not having anymore to read.

Having to wait soooo long for the romance payoff got . . . old.

A very refreshing short story. Lawrence Debenham is sent by his overbearing parents to a run-down estate to prove his inheritance. Eleanor Renwick is headed to her new home with her younger brother John. Her carriage has lost a wheel and now she must find a place to wait out the repair. Lawrence overhears the landlord of the local inn berate her. He asks them to stay with him. Wonderful relationships begin to form between Lawrence, Eleanor, and John. I really enjoyed John and his antics. This is a clean, fun, historical romance. Just so delightful to read. I would certainly recommend it

The storyline was good but dragged on and on. I was able to figure out the 'who dunnit' quite early in the story. The editing on Kindle was atrocious! Wrong people saying the dialogue, spelling, grammar, etc. It took away from the whole book. Not one of my favorites.

Hester Cooke had many dreams until her brother died and her father became ill. Now she is a lady's maid for a horrendous woman. Lady Haddington is obsessed with Hugh Ridlington. She sends Hester to go to his estate as a maid to spy on him to see how she can find a way to nuzzle into his life and get in the good graces of the Earl. Hugh has no desire to court, going to balls, or marriage. He watched his parent's awful relationship and swore he would never do it. But he found this new maid, Hester, very interesting and intriguing. Hester is only doing this for the two payments she will receive to help her family out. But there becomes a connection between them. Of course, it all comes to light in the end and it isn't pretty for all concerned. I found this story just so much fun. All of the characters are strong, entertaining and the author does such a wonderful job intertwining them. It isn't a "clean" story per se, but what is spoken about and implied is very tastefully done and part of the story. I would absolutely recommend this book. I would give it more than a five-star review if I could.

What a delightful story. Edward and Maeve come from totally different backgrounds. By ethnic and economic. They are brought together as a PR week in Corsica by Maeve's friends that own "The Perfect Match" on-line dating match, and Edward's practical joke friend. Both are work alcoholics but can find time for R&R plus throw in some work at Corsica. Activities are planned for them in advance, but Edward decides to woo Maeve in his own way also. Their first introduction is hilarious and the romance goes on from there. Ms. Riviera does such an amazing job describing the area, country, food, scents, etc. A clean, beautiful love story. This book may be part of the Perfect Match group, but can absolutely stand on its own. I would certainly recommend this book.

My Review

Lady Rowena Morgan is sent to an Abbey to punish her for her misbehaviors by her abusive parents. She is tortured by the head nun there for years. She is brought back home unexpectedly by her parents to be married off to a supposedly brutish Scotsman in her sister's place after her sister has disgraced herself. Oscar Burns, Laird of MacLeod, is not what Rowena heard about. She finds him more kind and compassionate than is made out to be. But someone is trying to harm Rowena on her trip to Scotland and once inside the clan. Rowena has many ugly scars from her torture at the abbey on the outside and many emotional scars. This book has many twists and turns, suspense and intrigue, and very steamy romance. I was surprised by the whodunit but more so by the ending and both epilogues. Rowena had come to be a very loving, forgiving, and caring person so I found the ending quite disturbing for me. I couldn't accept that resolution to the problem. Rowena had been tortured at the Abbey. This is why I didn't give it a 5-star review. I would still recommend the book.
