Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments I just finished The Emporium of Imagination by Tabitha Bird by Tabitha BirdAA and it was lovely! A magical realism story set in Boonah QLD (a totally off centre setting for such a book, one would think) which does totally enchant the reader. I thoroughly recommend it to all and sundry.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10038 comments The Last Time She Died is the first book I have read by British author, Zoë Sharp and I am really glad this is the first book of a series: the characters, the plot, the setting, all contributed to make this brilliant British crime fiction. Very much looking forward to #2.

PattyMacDotComma | 3340 comments I do like a short story. Alexander McCall Smith has written a collection of stories inspired by early 20th-century photos, including the title story Pianos and Flowers: Brief Encounters of the Romantic Kind. I especially loved Blackmail!
