The Last Thing to Burn by Will Dean is confronting, excellent suspense told by a captive Vietnamese 'bride'. I don't know how he did it, but she sounds real!

I'm loving the Monkeewrench series by P.J. Tracy, thanks to all the readers who recommended them. Dead Run is chock-a-block with nail-biting thrills!

Here's my review of Nancy Business, R.W.R. Mcdonald's fabulous, if a little darker, follow-up to his 2019 hit, The Nancys. Thanks to Allen & Unwin for the Uncorrected Proof copy.

I see that some reviewers found Liane Moriarty's latest novel, Apples Never Fall too much of a slow-burn, but I found that the level of detail had me thoroughly intrigued and invested in each character. I loved it!5★s

Brenda wrote: "A brilliant series Sarah, and she has another - Mark Turpin series :) You know she's an AA too don't you?"Ooohh... I didn't realise that there was another series, too. I wasn't 100% sure of her AA status, based on her biography, but I'm happy to claim her!
She lived in Brisbane for around 10 years I think until she returned home to the UK a couple of years a go for family reasons. I first 'discovered' her when she lived in Brisbane :)
Here's my review of Dark Water, the third instalment in Robert Bryndza's series featuring Slovakian-born London detective Erika Foster. Another great read and phew - I'm finally up to date with my reviews!

I guess I'm late to the party on this, but I'd have to say that Richard Osman's debut novel, The Thursday Murder Club is the perfect mix of cosy crime fiction and British humour. I'm very much looking forward to #2, The Man Who Died Twice.5★s

Aussie author Mark Smith's fourth novel, If Not Us is a stand-alone that is topical and relevant. Aimed at YA, but this sixty-six year-old reader enjoyed it very much. Possibly his best yet!5★s
