Originally published in Germany back in 2007, the first five books in the series have been translated and published in English and they serve as the basis for the Netflix series that is now in its third season.

Now From My Local Libary

Now I am starting on these

No Sleep Till Wonderland
by: Paul Tremblay
A departure from his usual fare, poking some fun at the noir tradition with mixed success. My full review:

I'm reading The Slaughterman's Daughter, which I am enjoying immensely; about to start Death Casts a Long Shadow by Anthony Gilbert, apa The Long Shadow.

Linda wrote: "I won't be able to read much in the coming week. My grandmother passed away this morning."
Oh, Linda, I'm so sorry. Virtual hug.

My condolences, Linda. Take the time to process and grieve. We're always here.

Charles Paris #2, OK to read as a stand-alone. Paris is performing at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, and gets involved in a possible murder. This book was a bit of a disappointment. I never believed in most of the characters and the deus-ex-machina ending was just absurd. 2 stars, I won't be continuing with this series, although I do like some of Brett's other work

I like most of Brett's series. Each is different in its own right. I didn't mind this one.

I enjoyed it and rate it 4 stars. It is book 3 in the trilogy that stat started with Lilac Girls
This one takes place during the US civil war and is based on letters written by the Woolsey family.

Next will be the 2nd Hercule Poirot mystery, The Murder on the Links

Perhaps too soon, but are you leaning towards Camp Marple or Camp Poirot?

Finished The Killer Inside Me a must read crime classic. Jim Thompson is one of the greatest noir authors of all time. Rating - 5/5

I won't be reading your review yet, because I had preordered this some time ago, but I'm happy you think it's a good one. I like Archipelago books.

Andy Carpenter #9, OK to read as a stand-alone. Andy defends an ex-drug addict accused of a 6-year-old mass murder. I thought this was one of Rosenfelt's best, with an interesting plot/puzzle and action that buzzed right alone. 4 stars.

I need to read more Poirot... I do like Marple. I also like Tommy and Tuppence.. :0)

There was a TV series a couple of years back based on the books. It was entertaining. It starred David Walliams and Jessica Raine as Tommy and Tuppence.

I liked that version much better than the old one with Francesa Annis. I was sorry when it ended.

Love Cadfael! Have you been reading these in order? I'm about to start The Virgin in the Ice.
I finished my nonfiction read Blood on the River: A Chronicle of Mutiny and Freedom on the Wild Coast by Marjoleine Kars yesterday.
Today working on a post for Stark House's new book, which is actually two books in one (and I still haven't added it to goodreads -- memo to self): The Abductor/The Bank With the Bamboo Door, by Dolores Hitchens (1960s).

Still reading The Slaughterman's Daughter
and starting a new French novel from Snuggly, The Red Spider.

Its available on Amazon Prime (I believe with a Britbox subscription) in the US. I've seen a few episodes, and have liked it enough to be curious about reading one of the books. With so many British police procedurals its tough to distinguish one from another, but I liked that it focuses mainly on his police work and doesn't delve too deep into his personal life.
